MovingHelp.com claims to be a marketplace connecting consumers with moving labor providers, however, they require exclusivity, and will remove you if you are on any other platforms other than MovingHelper.com. This results in a huge loss of revenue for local business owners around the country who depended on the additional revenue that their MovingHelp account brought in. You are not an independent business with Moving Help, rather you must be completely dependent on MovingHelp resulting in more of a employee-employer relationship focused on monopolization, rather than creating an opportunity for independent businesses to thrive.Business Response

On October 21, 2023 at 7:03 PM, I initiated a case with MovingHelp.com (Case Number: #*****) to assist with damages incurred during a move they coordinated for me with On The Go Moving LLC on 10/9/23 (Order #: OR-1323d0d7).The verbiage was as follows:"Movers were polite and respectful, however they scuffed up the walls in our newly constructed home and damaged our newly refinished floors. We reported the issue to the owner, ****, the same day (while we were providing him with the payment code) and also provided him with pictures of the damage. He said he would get back to us with a discount or someone to repair the damage. It has been 2 weeks and we still don't have a remedy for the damages. At this point, I have no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card company."I disputed the charge on 11/2. On 11/3, I personally spoke with the owner of On The Go Moving LLC, *******************, who agreed to the full refund, however MovingHelp.com has refused to honor the refund. The case on their website remains open as of the date of this request (please see the attachments). I am requesting that the full refund be honored by MovingHelp.com.Business Response

I used movinghelp.com to book 2 movers for 2 hours on November 1, 2023 at noon. I was in contact with the movers from noon until 5 pm. The original team was in a car accident and when it became clear they were not going to make it - ONE guy was sent and he arrived at 5pm. The guy I was speaking with on the phone told me they were going to refund the full amount to me. Because they were so late I moved 1/3 of my items between noon and 5pm. When one guy showed up I ended up helping him move the rest of my things.I want the full refund amount they promised. I contacted moving help but they refuse to help and consider this an issue between me and the moving company and not them. They are listed on my credit card so it should be them who issues me a refund. I released the payment code because I wanted the guy who actually did show up to get paid and I was promised a refund over the phone.Business Response

Hello, I purchased Ubox with loading& unloading moving help. The ***** movinghelp order number is #5c7b54c2 and the troubled movinghelp is one of ***** Moving contractors, Sebastians Moving and the assigned Job Number is JB-16bf464a . This contractor doesnt answer the calls, text messages at all on the contracted moving day. I called UHaul for a help. The UHaul said just cancelled the service on their app and choose another one. There is no contractor available on the MOVING DAY. I asked ***** to refund me so that I can find other source to move rather using their other contractors on other day which requires me additional hotel stays and inconvenience. I have nothing but clothes on my suitcases due to moving from different states. Additionally, my fianc is a cancer patient and she cant stay in uncomfortable environment. The bleach of contract with UHaul moving contractor and refuse of refund of the service by ***** encountered me additional expenses and forced to use untrusted movinghelp services that UHaul has. I followed all their instructions and pay in full all of the service to believe that they will do the same. Even with the breach of contract, ***** did not take any responsibility and hold the funds then forced to keep using their service where it didnt resolve the moving issue I had which caused an extra expense to the customer. This is a malicious business practice. Please let me know if you have any questions on my complaint. Thank you.Business Response

Customer rebooked a new order with the store credit that they opted in to do and used the $209.00 to book a new order with a new service provider. Customer's new order is A1 Smooth Movers set for 11/17/2023. They do have an option to cancel the order and refund the store credit back to the original payment method. When customer cancels there are 2 options on what they can do: 1) cancel for store credit and hold those funds they have already paid or 2) refund to the method payment (credit/debit card) that was used. They can do that in their customer account by using the email that was used to book the order with which was ****************************************.Customer Answer

I disagree what Movinghelp stated that they offer refund to an original payment option when the customer cancel the job. When I called the customer service, they guided me for choosing another movers and told me they cant refund the money. (***********, **)
I was not able to find any movers at the same rate sooner than 11/17 and this one still inquiries $21 additionally.
It is very disappointing that the movinghelp.com is stepping away by saying that they dont have any responsibility if their contractors bleach the contract and put customers in additional fiduciary duties. On the movinghelp.com, it misleads the customers by movinghelp ensures the services they offers the stress free move. If youre stating that you are not the party to ensure the service to be provided as contract, I wont be using your company. Im hoping this is also a learning experience for your company and do actions to your contractors who bleach the contract on the moving day without saying anything. It shouldnt be all on customers burden and still your companys attitude on bleach of contract is a simple sorry but you are scheduled to an another day for move. I honestly think you should be responsible for some of burden that customer had to go through. I still am not hearing any action plans for movers who bleach the contracts and outlaw.Business Response

Each service provider sets their own rates, availability, scheduling etc. They are the ones they are responsible for their customer stratification. Once again the customer has an order that is place that is still scheduled. If they do not want to continue with that service provider, they can certainly cancel and get their money back as long as the payment code is not given to the service provider. Below are instructions on how to cancel. You can cancel for a full refund at any point prior to the Moving Help Service Provider showing up to complete the job. Once you place the order you will receive a 6-digit Payment Code to give the Service Provider once the job is completed to authorize the release of the payment to them. As long as you have not released the payment code to them, either through your Customer Account on ********************** or by giving them the code, you can cancel for a full refund back to your card on file. Instructions: 1. Visit MovingHelp.com and click Account. Create an account if needed.2. You received an email to verify your account. Open this to finish the verification process.3. Access your account and click the job number (JB-) you wish to cancel.4. Scroll down and locate Cancel this job by clicking here 5. Follow the prompts to cancel. On 9/11/23, my movers booked through moving help arrived. The movers made minor damages to items (a mirror mount, lamp, tv stand and standing desk), which they did not inform me about, when loading items into a truck. I informed the manager of the company on 9/12 when he contacted me for additional billing for extra time. I found these damages only after they left.Additionally, there were two bankers boxes set aside, which I asked the movers not to load into the truck. One included passport, old phones and $500 cash. They confirmed with me they would not move them into the truck. Unfortunately, they did load these items into the truck, which was later confirmed by a mover with me on 9/11, when I couldnt find the boxes after they left.I could not retrieve these boxes on 9/11 from the truck, as they were behind furniture. When the truck arrived, I found the cash missing from a bankers box(I am very positive the cash was in the box when I asked the movers not to move the bankers boxes). I contacted the manager again when I received this box on 9/27. He said he would get back to me the same day, but didnt hear back. I followed up with him on 9/30, and he said he had bad service and would get back to me soon after talking to his crew. I contacted him again on 10/12 and he did not respond. I opened a case on 10/14 on movinghelp (#*****), and the issues I had were not addressed, he suggested the money was misplaced by me. I am positive I did not misplace it, and still feel that some liability should be taken as I asked for the boxes not to be moved with missing money. I personally contacted him again twice on 10/16, twice on 10/17 and once on 10/18, and he did not respond. The case (#*****) is still open on movinghelp, and no resolution has been made. What I propose is that moving help, as the intermediary, provide me a refund of the move (an amount of $455.95), which will help me recuperate my lost money, which is a significant amount to me as a graduate student.Business Response

I had an awful experience with ****** best Moving Services", hired through Uhaul's Movinghelp platform.Their team of 2 helpers came with absolutely no tools or moving straps, completely unaware of the task waiting for them, because they didn't bother to ask ahead of time.Despite my instructions to be careful, and the fact I provided a dozen protection blankets at their disposition, their careless workers broke an expensive mirror, dented/chipped 2 nightstands, tore a large painting, and scratched my hardwood floors by dragging a heavy marble table across them. They even tried to bounce my wine cellar down the stairs on a trolly instead of lifting it! The helpers even got into a loud argument in front of me. One of them said he had never worked with the other, and wished to never work with him again...They didn't listen to instructions (leave the art, load the sofa first) which I had to repeat 3 times each. Because they weren't equipped, they needed to call a third employee, which we waited over an hour for.Their boss wanted more money before continuing the move, even though his employees were waiting with their arms crossed. When I called him to express my frustration with the damage, he hung up on me (twice). To his credit, the third helper was great. I was then led on a wild goose chase to find the original 2 helpers who walked out due to their boss not resolving the prepayment issue promptly. We looked for them for half an hour, and I ended up completing the move and unloading the truck with only the 3rd helper, which I compensated generously. As a result, I injured my back doing all the heavy lifting, and am forced to seek physiotherapy and take 4-6 weeks off from sports and lifting. Plus, ****** **** moving services" refused to compensate me for the damaged items, estimated at $4400.Business Response

The Moving Help Service Providers are labor-only and not required to bring any tools. 11/5 U-haul contractors cancelled my moving job 15 mins prior to the scheduled time. This triggered a series of events which led to A) the cost of the move tripling B) having to make 2 trips (appx 46 miles each way) C) extended mileage and gas usage. Pick up location at I17 and *********** were accommodating in store and 30 mins after I left to ask for help since the movers cancelled. I was given an extra day and mileage without pause. Domino effects of the cancelation required me to hire 3 different sets of movers to complete the job 11/5 through U-haul, 11/6 and 11/7. The time to return the one way rental was 12'ish, after calling I showed up in person and the staff gave me extra time without charge to finish and advised all mile overage would be waived . Final drop-off I was told, and understood, id be receiving a receipt for the under-filled gas tank. Upon shared I'd be asking for some leniency, I was given the # to the *** ********************* to follow-up in the morning. My debit card on file was charged on 11/7 for miles and gas. 11/8 I spoke to *************** who she said she couldn't reverse the charges for miles; her staff gave me incorrect information and when you depart with a truck the miles are as agreed and cannot be changed. I challenged the validity of her statement providing examples based on my experience solely from this reservation. Her response was she would escalate to the moving help team who may be able to reimburse me. She confirmed my communication ****************** address. I asked for a corporate # she gave me the 800 U-haul # and each time I asked a follow up question said I'd be redirected to moving help based on my contact info. She threw her staff under a truck and between the pick up location, 800 U-haul CSR and the associates at this locale, she was the only person I engaged with during this 3 day, arduous process who was NOT customer-centric or empathetic.Business Response

Customer only had one order made with ********************** and that was made after the truck was dispatched by ******. Not sure if customer booked other previous movers outside of movinghelp.com. Customer only had the one order that was done through us and they left a glowing review for them on our website. What it sounds like is the customer is more upset with ****** in general and ********************* at the ****** center. Which in fact looks like the customer was refunded by her on 11/11/23 for $118.82. This is not a moving help issue. Customer needs to take any further complaints up with ******.Initial Complaint

4/7/23, paid credit card payment through UHaul's Moving Help, + cash tip 4/10/23 to Helper To Rescue LLC - 3 men, 4 hours to load contents into a UHaul vehicle I had rented. Owner ***** *********************************, *********************************************************************, # ************. While there the ******* was rude. When he nearly toppled a table containing my entire china dishes collection, told me "chill". He ignored requests on what to load. Close to the end of shift, realized he had ignored heavy items I could not load myself and I again asked. He begrudgingly loaded a few more to truck's capacity. Had no way to know how items had been stacked in truck until unloading it. Had I realized, I would not have paid. MovingHelp have a problematic policy that once you pay day of you are releasing liability from MovingHelp. ******* hovered over me, intimidating me into doing a 5 star review for them before leaving my home. Bad experience; what followed was worse. Removing items from truck, discovered they had placed things in a way where nearly all my furniture was destroyed. Had provided furniture ******************* covers they did not use and were on the floor. Nothing was protected other than things I insisted they cover in the apartment. Kept telling me they would do it "in the truck". Things upside down, crooked, one upon another. My furniture I thought I would have for life/pass on to my son is ruined. Bedroom set, marble cabinets, dining & desk tables, broken chairs etc. Deep wood gashes, glass broken, enormous mess. Attaching some photos. Opened "case" that remains "open". Provided everything Helper to Rescue requested. After initially denying fault, once they saw the photos admitted fault, said they would compensate me to reimburse money and repair damages that their company caused me. Was last I ever heard from them, despite multiple attempts. It hurts to have been victimized. Imagine losing your home belongings to severe and avoidable damage due to deliberate negligence.Business Response

I tried to book an appointment with ***********. I kept getting a message stating that my information from my debit card didn't go through. I called and spoke with an employee at U Haul. I gave her all the information needed and my card number. When I looked at my bank app it showed that Moving Help was on there 14 times. Each time the amount they got was $155.95. I was unable to book the reservation and they still took the money. A lady from ************ stated that they never got a reservation for me on 10/05/2023 either.Someone from Moving Help, ****, called me. After explaining the situation he acted like this was not important at all. Moving Help refuses to answer the phone also. I called and called and they did not answer the phone.I am asking that Moving Help put that money back now. My bank stated that with the card being closed now that Moving Help can return it because the information is on file.**** tried telling me they can't put it back onto the card without the number. I asked **** for his phone number and email and he stated that he doesn't have one. Yes he does. They will do and say anything to get out of refunding my money.Yes they can! Put the money back onto the card now. Because of them taking the money now I cannot get my furniture out of my apartment in 2 days and will lose it all. As mentioned above, put that money back onto the card now! This company should be closed down after doing this to me.Business Response

We are sorry that you are having an issue with the billing section on MovingHelp.com. Were unable to locate an order associated with the information youve provided. If the billing zip code that was imputed does match the card address through the bank, the charges will not go through. If the card information was entered, an authorization may have occurred. Authorizations do not become charges unless an order is successfully placed. Any authorization/pending charge will drop off soon if an order is not placed due to an error during checkout. Please be advised Moving Help cannot force the process of the pending charges being dropped. You may place the order directly on MovingHelp.com. If it is a U-************ choose Moving Help + U-Box. We suggested to have the customer call their bank and look at the authorizations on the card. We also gave her our phone line ************ to call in as well once she talks with he bank to call us back once the authorizations fall off to place an order if she wishes to do so. At this point there is nothing to be refunded as there is no order placed and they are authorizations, once again she needs to contact her bank.Customer Answer

I spoke with my bank this morning and was told to call the Moving Help company and get an authorization release code. That way the account I currently have can be reopened. I called and spoke with someone at Moving Help, and of course he says he needs the debit card number. No he does not. I mentioned that to the people at the bank before the call was ended and they say that Moving Help does not need that information.
Just have them send me an Authorization Release Code today
Because of my account being on a freeze now I have no money for gas in my car to get to work, my rent will be late.
As me above have them send me an Authorization Release Code

We have tried to help the customer several times but there is no order placed and we do not have the funds or the information to look up the CC authorization. We have tried to help the customer but the customer refuses to work with us. We can not do what she wants without the credit card number to even look in our credit card processing system for the authorization code for the soft charges which should be off by now . We can not get the authorization code until we have the CC# to even look for it.

Why choose a BBB Accredited Business?BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
