I made 2 purchases on a Joann Fabric closeout website on June 4, 2025. One purchase was for $89.99, and another for $242.86. I received an email confirmation from PayPal, not Joann Fabric. The PayPal account is Koch-Altenwerth. I realized that this was a scam and not items from Joann fabric. I immediately called both my credit card company (Mercury) and PayPal to report. Mercury initially refunded the money but have since taken the money back. I have spoken to Mercury and they say I lost the fraud case because the seller has confirmation that the items were delivered. This is false and part of the scam, I never received the items. PayPal says that this determination is made by Mercury and there is nothing they can do. If you search on google and BBB for Joann fabric scam there are many reports of similar activity. I deserve my money back as this is very clearly a scam and fraud. Additionally should not be charged interest or late fees on these fraudulent charges.

I was sent an Instagram link by a trusted person, advertising Joann Fabrics’ closeout materials, sewing machines, etc. I knew that the retailer had gone out of business earlier in the spring. I clicked on the link which was set up exactly as the Joann website. I ordered sewing supplies from the site, providing my personal information. When I received email confirmation, it included cheap jewelry in the same amount and unit prices as the sewing notions that I had ordered. The company was listed, ironically, as ROOB ([email protected]). The confirmation email appeared to come from PayPal, though my actual PayPal account shows no activity.

The tracking number indicates that this shipment was sent to Canada customs, US customs and several other non specific shippers, possible postal service in 5 states, some of them twice. The tracking number indicates that delivery was made in my home town. It was not delivered to my house via any service nor at the local post office. We do not have postal delivery to our homes in this town. All the shipment activity supposedly happening in a 10 day period. I have requested information twice at the service contact provided, [email protected]. No response has been received.

I purchased several items that came to be $208.32. Received a message that my order had been received/shipped. I made this purchase July 11, 2025 and as of today, August 12, 2025 I have not received anything. I reached out using the email address on the memo, but never got a response. I then reached out to PayPal. PayPal directed me to contact my Resolution Center. I contacted my Resolution Center and was directed back to PayPal (the one who should keep your purchases free from scammers). I am at. a loss of $208.32. I have received no items and have not been able to dispute for a refund as it is a SCAM

I ordered two items from what appeared to be a Joann's closeout sale. The website and ordering information appeared legitimate and the prices were similar to those I witnessed at Joanns local store (physical store) before it closed. Google search indicated the website (https://bovised.com/) appears legitimate. I ordered via PayPal to protect my purchase. I received order confirmation and tracking number via email. A web search did not find the shipping company or the tracking number. I initiated a request for payment reimbursement via the PayPal resolution center. My request was denied because the seller (listed as Gleichner LLC) provided PayPal with tracking information saying my items were delivered. Subsequently, I searched again for the shipping company and tracking number. This time, information came up showing the items "delivered to mailbox" (which is impossible because 2 full size sewing machines will not physically fit in the mailbox). In hindsight, I believe I was scammed.

I was on Facebook, when I came across the add for Joann-clearances .com it was in the top bar it looked legit. Had all the items that were on clearance. I picked out items it brought me to the check out put in the card information payment was accepted and received a confirmation number. Never thought no more about it. Then it had been a few weeks so I went back to the saved site and rechecked the order it said it was being sent through to Track718.com. I got information from them that my items were being processed I ordered this stuff on 6-21-2025 received and email which looked legit. It showed it was accepted in Shenzhen China on the 6-24 then it went on to Hong Kong then it was at customs. It showed it went through customs was excepted it was in California then it got shipped to Illinois then onto Florida from that point was being shipped to my address. Then yesterday 7-24-25 I received a message from the Track718 that my package was delivered it was put next to the mailbox or in it. That didn't happen because for one the package would have been to big for the stuff that I ordered. I called my local post office to ask if they had delivered anything they said no. She told me that I had no large items scheduled to come to my address for the rest of the week. So then I thought that maybe it would be coming by UPS when I checked the tracking number it does not exist. Then I checked the post office website and the number did not exist there either. I was told by the post office that this not the first time this has happened with this tracking company. I then looked that tracking company up and I supposedly got an agent I told them about the situation they apologized for the inconvenience said that I needed to talk to a live agent I put in my number then a screen popped up and wanted $5.00 refundable after the conversation but wanted a credit card number for the conversation with this agent. Then as scroll down more it's states that if do not cancel with the agent after the conversation my card would be charged 94.99 for the service. I know that it all looked really legitimate but these people behind all of this are getting better, luckily I only got scammed for $48.13 and I used a prepaid credit card but I hate to think how many more people this is effecting. I went back through to Joann fabrics website called the number wasn't able to get through to anyone. Not sure if they are even aware that it is happening. With this Track718 it shows through detail of every move that supposedly my package was coming they are definitely slick because it's precise.

I knew they were going out of business, and thought sales might be good. They were stupid cheap, and yet I didn't catch on. I ordered $99.90 worth of merchandise, and received an email thanking me for my order. On April 24, an email came stating my order had been shipped. Of course, I've received nothing, and no replies from emails I've sent them. I've never fallen for anything bogus online before, and of course I feel like the world's biggest idiot. I've done some research and know I'm not the only person who got taken. I'm mad they stole my money, but more concerned they have my online information, including debit card with which I paid.

Was on FB Marketplace Saw an ad with an ad with a photo of what appeared to be a JOANN FABRICS brick and mortar store with big red text that said 'CLOSING'. Upon further inspection, the storefront says 'JOANN' and uses the same font and outlet architecture as JOANN FABRICS. Clicked on the link...it took me to joannfinaldays.com. I immediately thought it was weird when there were Duracell batteries for under $2. Then I noticed the webpage...why would a company that already had joann.com remake the entire website for closing? I checked google, it said joann fabrics is closing. So I went...eh okay...maybe this is real. Then I looked a little harder and saw that Joann.com hasn't been a working website for months, and all of the stores closed at the end of May. You can't shop JOANN FABRICS any more...not any where. So it's a scam. How can scam websites pay to advertise on facebook?

This scammer used the Joann fabrics and crafts Sale advertisement website on Facebook. It looked real and I ordered many crafting and storage items at the reduced rates offered. They even sent an email with my order confirmation number and a tracking number. After a couple of weeks of no follow-up or shipping information, I tried the tracking number without success. The total charge was posted to my credit card from somewhere called Ohmmi Singapore. I clicked on the "Visit Our Store" link, and the Joannfabriccrafts.com website would not open. I sent three emails to [email protected] and received no reply. I spent several hours trying to track my order and have recently found a suspiciously fraudulent tracking line indicating the package was delivered to the mailbox last month. My "package" would have included large, bulky storage items as well as small crafting things. I seriously doubt they would have all been shipped together in one USPS delivery! Or even a single FedEx or UPS shipment. I hope my credit card company will help me get a refund.

I don’t typically trust Facebook ads, but did not do my due diligence. I received an email with an order number and a tracking link and when I attempted to access both of them, there were no records of my purchase or a tracking number to be found at FedEx, UPS or USPS. I was able to cancel my pending payment and the only thing that comes up when searching the business name is a Facebook page with no followers.

I clicked on a Facebook ad, and since Joann's was liquidating, I expected the great prices I found. I placed a credit card order, though they had encouraged me to "Activate PayPal." I received a confirmation email and the normal acknowledgment from my credit card issuer, which used the name "Mark PayPal," rather than the business name from the confirmation email "HONG KONG ZHICHENG TRADING INTERNATIONAL LIMITED." While awaiting delivery, I often used their tracker, which eventually claimed that the order was delivered and named the address, date, and time of the supposed delivery. At their specified time, I was sitting two feet from where the order would have been delivered. It was never delivered. In the meanwhile, because of the long wait and a TV report about the many fraudulent "Joann's" websites, I had disputed the charge with my credit card company. They initially credited my account while they investigated the claim, but when the company referred them to the tracker information about the supposed delivery, the credit card issuer rebilled me for the charge, taking the company's word that it was delivered. At this point, it's my word versus theirs.

Reply was from 'Amy' : [email protected] but signed 'Grace . Customer Service'. The tracking number was later identified as international tracking#. It was all written in Chinese except it arriving to my town 3/23/25. Found the translation button & was able to translate giving place of origin as Quanzhou City, China Post. 'Grace' stated no other tracking number available. Package was delivered 3/23. Advised to contact post office. Clerk felt it may be hung up in customs. Waited another week. 4/8/25 Claim started with USPS after stopping @ post office again to check on status. Advised to ask for US tracking#. Reached out to see if package could be resent. Asked for town of origin, zip code & US Tracking number. 'Grace' states 'No - can't be resent-but if package is lost they could refund 30% of cost.' No other answers given to questions about origin. Advised I would give it another week. Now the next day, local post office advises that it is a scam. BEWARE! Lost $50!

A friend posted a link in a facebook group for discount and deals. I clicked on the link and began shopping what I thought was the Joanns Fabrics store closing clearance. Items were deeply discounted, but I did think that was correct due to the store closure. I added items to my cart, and an additional discount was taken at the end, taking my $142.00 purchase down further to $70.00, a discount I was delighted to accept. I used PayPal to purchase the items. The company has communicated via email, sending me tracking numbers in Chinese, which I translated into the shipping tracking link they also provided in Chinese. The items show as having been delivered, but no shipping provide is listed (USPS, FEDEX, etc) They continue to insist the items will be arriving any day now. I know know that I was a scam victim. It has been hard to get a refund through PayPal bc their form to file a dispute is very narrow, and not all my information is accepted-ex: my total amount of goods doesn't equal the amount I paid due to the discount they gave me, so I can't get the form submitted. Normally, I find paypal very easy to use in fraud cases or cases of sellers not fulfilling their agreement, but this has complicated matters, as my bank also won't help me bc I used PayPal. Now I am stuck in limbo trying to get my refund. I just don't want anyone else to be scammed at this point.

Online Purchase - Joann Impostor

Knowing that JoAnn Fabrics and Craft stores were closing, I found this website and placed an order for craft supplies. The website contains "About" information that appears to have been lifted from the real JoAnn Stores, as well as fictitious US address and email contact information. The website also falsely claims that all orders are shipped using FedEx Express. My order was placed on Feb 17, 2025 in the amount of $99.42 and I received an email confirmation from the scammer listing each of the items in the order and confirming FedEx Express shipping. My payment was made through PayPal. On February 19, 2025, I received an email notification indicating that my order had been shipped. The merchant was listed as ????????????, not JoAnn Stores. The carrier information was blank in the email and a different email address was provided for customer service, [email protected]. The tracking link showed that a shipment had originated from China using China Post rather than FedEx Express. I waited a couple of weeks and then checked the provided tracking link. I was surprised to find that the link showed successful delivery of the package on March 3rd. I contacted the company on March 5th using both emails, explaining that I had not received anything. The email response that I received suggested that I check with family, friends and the local post office. Numerous emails have been exchanged since that time, with many from the scammer acknowledging that they believed that I did not receive a package. They began by offering a 30% refund. When I refused, subsequent offers of 50%, 60% and 80% refunds were offered. I have provided the company with proof of non-delivery. China Post does not make home deliveries in the United States, they transfer packages to the Postal Service. The USPS has no record of receiving the package. To date, I have received neither merchandise nor any refund. I'm out the entire amount.

On March 2, 2025, I was playing a game on my phone, when the website; Joann Stores; come up; as an ad; and said certain items were 90% off. I decided to have a look and the items I wanted were 90% off. The ad and website looked just like Joann Fabrics. So, I decided to place an order. It all seemed legit until the merchandise didn't come when they said it should have.

Online Purchase - Online Retailer Scam - Joann Fabric Impostor

I saw an ad on facebook for Joann liquidation. The scammer created a Joann liquidation site that was an exact copy of the real one (except the URL, which I didn't notice). I ordered many small items and a few more expensive ones. When I received the confirmation I noticed nothing odd, but now I see that at the bottom "Have any questions or feedback? Contact us at [ [email protected] ]" A week later I tried to track the delivery with the confirmation number they gave me. It said it had been shipped but there was no other info on delivery. Today I tried again and contacted Paypal. Paypal had a record of the purchase, but many of the items listed were incorrect. I tried to alert Paypal but their form rejected me because I was unable to fill out all the information. I did not realize until this evening when I googled that there is more than one scam out there for Joann, and this is one of them.
