I went onto what I thought was the hotel chain’s website and booked a room. It said I had two days to cancel if plans changed, and I was comfortable with that. After I clicked to put in my card, I saw a service fee that had not been there before I clicked to make the reservation. This caught my eye! Immediately I cancelled in the hope that it would never hit my card at all. Then I tried to call the number listed on the site. Every single number said this is a non-working number. The number that looked like a toll free US number turned out to be some number in Cambodia, apparently. Finally I got through to someone after trying a multitude of numbers and the lady said sorry, we can’t help you. So I called the hotel I thought I had booked directly. They confirmed Get a Room is not a reputable company. They said they had plenty of rooms but the company would have to book it since they now had my money. The company refused and took my $255. I am filing a complaint with American Express as well. Scams are on the rise-I am getting fake invoices all the time these days.

I opened an ad on Google for weight loss. That was sponsored by Oprah Winfrey but it was not her, it was AI generated not her. After watching a 15 minute presentation I gave my credit card to purchase product luckily my bank flagged it and denied the charge. And sent me an email asking if I purchased. I said yes, and they said if I purchased again they would let it go through. Because they denied it, I decided to Google to see if it was a scam and it was yes a scam. I then saw the charge appear in my phone so I contacted my bank and they said apparently the company trues to run it again and they denied the charge. I then got a request from Leslie to be my coach to help with the product? I also received a confirmation the product had been shipped and of course I never received. I asked my bank to report incident as fraud but they said I had to reach out to the BBB. Thank you for looking into This and doing whatever it takes to stop them from scamming others.

Online Purchase - Final Store Days - At Home IMPOSTER

Scammer ran an ad on Facebook Marketplace posing as At Home, a recognizable store. I placed an order for 2 benches. I never received them, so I went back and their tracking site said benches were delivered. I attempted to contact the business which seems sketchy because 1. The tracking link says UPS delivered it, not USPS, and we checked with UPS, and they did not have a package for us. It was not delivered to our home. 2. The phone number - 1-888-621-3814 on your website is not in service. 3. The web pages: athomesale.ccom and athomeclosing.top are both non-functioning with DNS errors. The week after this transaction, my debit card was compromised by someone in another state attempting to use my card information at a NY hotel minibar. My credit union identified the transaction as suspicious and I now think that these scammers not only did not send the items I bought, but also used or sold my card information. I'm attaching a screenshot of their Facebook Marketplace ad, a screen shot of the name of their business as it appeared on my bank account, DNS pages of their websites and listed defunct telephone number.

Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill - Email Scam

I was emailed a fake email chain from Paul Walker- [email protected] The fake email chain was made to look like there was a conversation between my boss and this Paul walker. Who ever is running the scam was thorough as there was a fake email from my boss apologizing for the oversight in the payment and that the cause for delay was that the email with the invoice should have gone to accounting. I was then emailed from a fake account labeled with my bosses name however with a closer look it was [email protected]. Whoever this is was smart enough to create a new email and use my boss's name so unless you look closely it does appear to come from the person they want to trick you into believing it came from. Each email had a Logo for The Growth Coach along with a reply email of [email protected] I have attached the Invoice that was sent showing payment should be made to an entirely different name that all the emails along with a W9 for the same name on invoice along with one of the email chains.

Once i hit "next" it took me back to FB. I waited a couple of days and never received any "confirmation " email from 4PATRIOTS. However, i did receive an email on Aug 14 welcoming me to Fitgnx (i have included that email). Since it arrived in my SPAM folder, I didn't click on anything or call the number. After receiving that e-mail, i checked my credit card activities. I found 3 unauthorized charges (and notified my CC company).
