I was emailed a fake email chain from Paul Walker- [email protected] The fake email chain was made to look like there was a conversation between my boss and this Paul walker. Who ever is running the scam was thorough as there was a fake email from my boss apologizing for the oversight in the payment and that the cause for delay was that the email with the invoice should have gone to accounting. I was then emailed from a fake account labeled with my bosses name however with a closer look it was [email protected]. Whoever this is was smart enough to create a new email and use my boss's name so unless you look closely it does appear to come from the person they want to trick you into believing it came from. Each email had a Logo for The Growth Coach along with a reply email of [email protected] I have attached the Invoice that was sent showing payment should be made to an entirely different name that all the emails along with a W9 for the same name on invoice along with one of the email chains.
