Organizations that meet the BBB Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability automatically become BBB Accredited Charities and are eligible for the Charity Seal Program. As a Charity Seal Holder, organizations have the privilege of displaying the BBB Charity Seal online, in social media and on all fundraising materials. BBB’s Charity Seal is a widely-recognized visual symbol demonstrating commitments to accountability and ethical business practices and helps position organizations to succeed by enhancing donor confidence in charitable giving.

Standards for Charity Accountability.

Our reports summarize basic facts about a charity's governance, programs, finances, fundraising and operations and show whether or not the subject charity meets the comprehensive standards for BBB Charity Accreditation.

For National Charities

If your organization is a national charity that solicits nationwide and wishes to be the subject of an Alliance report that will appear on Give.org, you can enroll by filling out the National Charity Enrollment Form. 

For Local Charities

Becoming an Accredited Charity is a sign that your organization can be trusted. Local charities can contact BBB of Akron for a link to the local charity evaluation forms. Becoming a BBB Accredited Charity is free of charge.
