When my policy was approaching renewal they requested I change the coverage to continue. I did & received confirmation renewal documents will be on the way. A month later no documents, I contacted Intact was hung up on, they do not have access to my file, no manager. I Contacted my broker. Intact excuse has been * ***" system issues," the policy was not renewed. Imagine no coverage, no communication.
They told the broker it would be fixed/reinstated. 2 months later my vehicle still had no coverage their excuses "they required photos of the vehicle " something that was never required in prior renewal. Photos sent they trippled the premium, I obtained coverage elsewhere decided to cancel. They refused to cancel & tried to deduct payment from my account knowing I had a new policy. These ********* ********* sent my information to a collection agency claiming cancelled for non payment. The issue escalated & they claim they "back dated " the policy for the months without coverage but still refused to cancel. I had a gap for those months. Ther provided a record of experience showing I cancelled not due to payment issue. I paid for the back dated dates & they still have their collection agency contacting me offering a lower amount.
YES They *** that they send registered letters. I received their regular unrelated letters. Their OmbudService has a ***** behind email who does nothing but send threats about messing up your insurance record. Intact refuses to take accountability or acknowledge their mistake. ****** ****. They have NOT spoken with me. **** ** ***** ***** ******** ** ** *** ***s. The Customer service reps and so called Ombudsman were ****, discourteous, ********. I tried numerous times to speak with a manager and they refused. They used someone acting as Ombudsman who only sends *********** emails f***** **** **** *** ***** ** ***** ********* , its an abuse of power. INTACT has still NOT SPOKEN WITH ME. Consumers should beware of companies like Intact. Fortunately it was not a claim. They just neglected to renew my policy on the renewal date and used the excuse/ *** about system issues and for almost a year did not have the competence to resolve the apparent system issue or provide details of what the system issues were. When I decided to cancel, they repeated the same negligence and did not cancel. Then tried to continued billing when after I had already moved on with a reputable insurance provider. They have very poor customer service etiquette and blocks you from escalating within their company. The Regulatory body who stepped in did not agree with Intact's negligence.. They ensured Intact's threats about impacting my insurance record and **** that my policy was canceled for non payment as well as retracting my information from their collections agency was corrected and completed. The Regulatory Authority as well ensure ROE was provided and accurately stated reason for cancelation which was NOT for non-payment as Intact ****. 1 starMy experience is awful with intact insurance. My policy covers car replacement. They told me to call ********** *** ****** with the claim number. When I do, they say there are no cars available. If I’m willing to pay for it they have cars. *********** **** ***** **** **** *** ****** ******* **** ***** **** ** **** ******
I called Intact insurance and they told me that I can rent from other companies but the max is $75.
I called ****, ****** and **********, all of which rent their car between $85 to $96. Therefore the $75 is not the industry price. Intact is not willing to pay anything above $75. ** *** *** ******* ***** * ****** ********* *** ** *** ****** ********* ** ** ***** ***** ***** ** *** ************

It took intact 60 days to replace 2 shocks, despite my efforts if following up every few days. However, Intact initially refused to cover the car rental expenses until they realized I was prepared to take the matter to small claims court and claim for lost work time and more. Only then did Intact reimburse the car rental costs. I don't consider this a satisfactory resolution of the issue.
Furthermore, I am still awaiting a resolution regarding the invoice. Despite clearly communicating that I had no intention of keeping Intact as my insurer, I was forced to renew the contract. Intact claimed that cancellation was not possible while there was an open claim. As a result, I am now being charged a penalty for canceling insurance that I did not wish to renew, for a car that was not in my possession as it remained in an Intact garage.

1 star** * ***** **** * ***** ****** ** ** ********* I ran into a collision and my vehicle was written off in December 2022. The claim process was awfully stressful. It has been over three months so far and my case is still not settled. First, it’s very slow. Then, the offer to my vehicle was terribly low. ***** ** **** **** ******* *** ****** *** * ***** ******* since it’s hard to get hold of them when you need help and the settlement they provide is quite unfair.Intact Insurance

1 starThis insurance company is nothing but a hassle to deal with, they keep pushing everything any excuses they can give you. I was in a accident that was not my fault. I was hit by a backhoe. And was a total loss on my vehicle. I had to source out my own rental car. Because they couldn’t find anything available? Then after a month They won’t even put me into the same vehicle I was already in, having to take money out of my pocket because I need a vehicle to get to work, they do not understand what it’s like to not have a vehicle,
My adjuster has been on vacation for a month and hasn’t done anything. I have never once received a phone call for a update or anything.
They low balled me so hard on my vehicle. That I now have to get a vehicle that isn’t mechanically fit and take out of my pocket to fix it because they low balled me so bad. Comparing my vehicle to something that is 3-4 years older then what I was driving.
After doing a lot of leg work, and pushing I still haven’t received anything from them. This company is the absolute worst to deal with. The employees *** **** **** **** *** do not want to help you. You are never able to speak to anyone hirer up then them. They refuse anything you are saying. I will never deal with this company again let alone tell everyone that this was the most horrible experience I have ever had.Intact Insurance

1 starOct 24th 2022 hurricane Fiona hit causing excessive damage to the roof of my house allowing it to flood both top and bottom floors. Intact supplied company 1 who lied about required repairs and was promptly removed from site then they supplied company 2 who refused to investigate sages properly saying it was only requiring new flooring and paint. I found a 3rd party company who came in and showed the damages left from the first 2 companies and the damages caused by the water which required all new flooring and new drywall and insulation due to being water saturated and causing mold. It has been 5 months now and still intact is not approving floor and roof repair qoutes. Now 11 months in and claims manager Amy is not responding to any forms of communication. I have done everything they asked including filling out and getting a witnessed notary for a proof of loss form. My house still has no flooring in it. The roof is still not replaced and is still just tarped over. The damaged items inside still not replaced. I have been dealing with this far too long and the stress at this point is becoming unbearable. When trying to reach the Ombudsman I get no reply neither. 1 starUnfortunately got a claims representative who is poorly trained, cannot help me with my claim, and doesn't seem to care either. I asked to talk with her supervisor, since she cannot help me. She told me over the phone that her supervisor would contact me, which never happened. The correct information was given to me as I was requesting it, like my claims report. Her answering phone message says to leave her a message. But after I left several messages and she finally answered, she told me she doesn't check her messages. UNBLIEVABLE!I am trying to talk with a lawyer to get his advice.Very disappointed that my broker, who was independent in the past and very helpful, brought us to this company.The staf at the towing department were great, but not the claims department. While in fact any one can shop and get better offers with the same or even better coverage from other companies without being ****** member or a member with any other groups with whom they have alliance . 1 star****** ********* ******* **** *** ****** Jennifer Rinn obviously new did not reach out to me for 2 weeks after numerous emails directly to her about applications. When she finally did she had to re send them numerous times due to errors. After finally signing g on an agreement numbers changed, then errors again,6 hours later premiums went up over $800. Went up twice for same minor ticket. Was td Jennifer or her supervisor would call me last Thursday,no call back. Then again same thing on Friday. Spent over at least 10 hours on the phone and have at least a dozen emails.Friday called *** ********* was on the phone 55 minutes,recieved pink cards,and all paper work. Done,and cheaper than Intact. Pretty sad when it takes almost a month with Intact and all the mistakes. Also pretty sad how a supervisor neglected to call me to figure things out since Jennifer Rinn had no idea what she was doing.Intact Insurance

1 starAfter 15 years with Intact, my husband and I missed a payment as we were switching banks. According to intact, they sent us a registered letter; that we did not receive; they called an old home phone number that hasn’t been active for 10 years. They then proceeded to cancel our home and auto insurance. One. Missed. Payment. 2 weeks before Christmas. I don’t even have words to describe how despicable I think this company is. On top of this, they won’t speak to us. We’ve had to speak with them through a broker. So even though we paid; three days late, they still cancelled it. Luckily we have a second vehicle with separate insurance and some home insurance coverage with our bank ; we have a friend who owns a brokerage who can help us, but what about the people who don’t? I can’t even imagine who this person is making these decisions. Whoever you are, hope you can sleep at night.Intact Insurance
