** ** ***** ** ** *** while at a red light I was rear ended on a very busy road in the Toronto area. On May 5, 2025, the Unit Claims Manager contacted the insured and explained that the damages to the roof and antenna are not related to this loss. The insured was advised on how to escalate furtherS. M.

The team *** ********* **** *** did not hear any concerns. They negated to review their findings despite having a professional engineer explain the basics to them. They took days to respond to an email or call, and refuse to facilitate the appropriate conversations. I would not recommend them to anyone.Review fromLeigh B

* **** * ***** **** * ****** **** ** ** *** *** ***** ******* * **** **** *** ** **** ***** I have been trying to cancel the policy for months, and they continue to withdraw twice as much as what my policy amount is. They cannot tell me why the amount is twice as much, and refuse to send me the form to cancel the policy. I call multiple times a week trying to resovle this but end just being put on hold for extended periods of time, or just passed between departments that cant help me. I have emails from them stating they would cancel the policy as of a certain date if I send them the form back, but they won't send me the form. ********** ********* **** ** *** **** **** **** ******* ** *********Intact Insurance

Multiple contact attempts have been made in an effort to address our customer’s concerns; however, we have not received a reply. A review of the file shows that the broker has cancelled the policy, but we would be happy to discuss the matter further should the customer not be satisfied with this resolution.Review fromDanillo G

I was with Intact for two years, never used any of their services, and always maintained a good relationship with them. I even brought in several clients for them. When I faced financial difficulties and had to let go of one of my cars, I canceled my contract. I received an email stating that some changes had been made to it. Only after reaching out to the company again to complain about receiving an email about a change (instead of a cancellation) did I finally get a response confirming that my contract would be canceled. Now, three months after all this stress, I received a letter from the company stating that I will be charged over $1,300 for the cancellation. I tried to contact them, but they kept shifting responsibility to the representative who initially assisted me. When I spoke with the representative, he told me to call the company’s main number—the same one I had already called, where they provided no help at all. I don’t understand why I am being charged this absurd amount after so long, why my contract was altered instead of canceled when I first requested it, and why I am only now being notified.Intact Insurance

We were able to connect with the client via email to address his concerns. Due to a delay from his broker, a backdated policy change was completed the same day that his cancellation request was received. Both sets of paperwork were sent to the client on the same day. A further reminder for the outstanding balance was sent to the client. The outstanding balance referenced by the client represents outstanding premium as well as a cancellation fee for terminating the policy mid-term. We apologize on behalf of the client’s broker for not being able to address his concerns in a timely manner.Review fromSean C

Intact confirmed that a refund was successfully processed in September; the refund was issued to the same card that was used to make the payment for the premium.Review fromRita Z

Intact insurance has informed us that they will no longer provide insurance on our property. We have been with this company for decades with no claims filed. We were told that Intact denied us insurance b/c we live on a Gulf Is. with extremely low crime rate, and low incidence of fire or water damage. Intact has shown no customer loyalty, **** *********** Not good for an insurance company.Intact Insurance

We had multiple storms in brantford on Tuesday july 16. I was not seen until saturday from colton from ****** restoration (which intact hires specifically for claims in my area). he took readings of apparent moisture where there was no damage and no insulation to hold it, as some walls are seperating walls from the furnace.I pointed out the window as the main source due to obvious visable evidence of the window not only having forced dirt through the inside/outside of the window, but also on the inside sill. He did not respond and moved outside for some photos, left and said ur covered dont worry. When marshal H. contacted me 3 days after, he became really reliant on telling me without specifically telling me that i was not going to be covered, he verbatim said "the writings on the wall", i would highly suggest you get this moving because it looks like ground water and would not entertain my evidence of overland water or discuss the obvious misreadings/assesment of coltons job.. He claimed to believe coltons determination of "seepage at the bottom of the window wall", indicating that it was ground water This was further reiterated from marshal on friday when he denied my claim and gave no creedance to my evidence and logical explanation of the amount of water and damage ground water vs overland water, in that specific spot. On my denial day, Marshal H. could not explain how to proceed or justify his descision on my claim (other than say i believe colton). Even when asked to do exploratative work that i would pay for, in determining the claim, he said thats not how it works.Intact Insurance

A Unit Claims Manager (UCM) has reviewed this claim, confirming that while it was denied at the onset, coverage was later afforded under overland water, as insured supplied evidence to show water was coming through from the window.
Claim was paid out and has been closed. The UCM called and left a message for the insured inquiring if he has any outstanding issues. A follow up email was sent after.Review fromBetty G

Intact is *** ***** ********* ******* ** **** ***** **** continue to ignore when its their own mistake that needs to be fixed. They are ignoring my request to fix their own mistake. Last year had a flood in my basement. Intact took three months to install flooring and quarter round. They then installed flooring not impervious to water in my basement. More recently, I had an other incident because of a collapsed drain and trap, still actually guessing if this is the cause, pipes drain and trap all replace on my tab ******* ********* ********* *** ******. I noticed my baseboards expanded and lumpy and knew i had to remove them regardless of Intact ignoring me. Once I started removing baseboards and drywall and found a large amount of mold growing on the drywall as well as behind the walls, in the wood and in the insulation. Last year when the floor and walls were damaged by water, intact replaced quarter rounds and left my walls wet. Drywall needed to be replaced. Instead, they were left wet and covered up. I have sent several emails and submitted complaints and included pictures of the damage and mold this has caused. There is so much more to the story. **** *** ******* I have since learned is that the company that is sent in by Intact to do repairs is also owned by Intact. ********* ** *** **** ******* They replaced my bedroom and laundry room floor with ugly cheap flooring. They didn’t give me a choice I was forced to choose from a small selection. Put in quarter rounds and paid the repair bill for $8000. A year prior to this flood, I had renovated my room myself. Floors, walls, wainscoting, baseboard, paint in a 20 x 16 foot room for roughly $2000. ********* *** **** ******** ***** **** **** ******** **** **** ** ***** ******** Their complaint webform does not work, you fill everything in and then nothing happens. They sent clean up crew to my house with dehumidifiers and then refused to pay them, so I was stuck with a $2000 bill. **** ** *********Intact Insurance
