I would leave zero stars if I could. I recently closed a savings account with thousands in it and BECU said they would issue a check in the mail for the balance. I never received the check and when I called to see if they would reissue it, they told me I had to wait 90 days to make sure it doesn't get cashed. If it was lost in the mail (because they don't send via first class) and it gets cashed, it wouldn't be by me. They said in that case once they investigate that it wasn't cashed by me they would then send a new check. They refuse to put a stop payment and they refused to reissue so now I have to wait 90+ days for thousands of dollars to be returned to me. I've had so many issues with this bank over the years I've been a customer so I decided to close my account and of course they're making it as difficult as possible. If this bank could have 0 reviews it should. They have kept money for almost a year of a deceased family member. We have submitted every form. We have followed every step. Go into the office, call on phones. People are friendly but no one will give you answers you do what they say then they say it wrong. To this day we have not received the money. I believe the bank is trying to keep all the funds.

Where to begin? For starters, the company has prioritized spending all their money on woke ideology instead of on research and development. Their marketing has been geared towards DEI with a priority of certain demographics of people (BIOPOC and LGBTQ+). In other words, they are actively discriminating against other marginalized communities such as the autistic community or other communities that are not BIPOC or LGBTQ+. The new CEO has made a point of letting everyone know she will enforce priority hiring over others. Unfortunately, BECU is and have discriminated against many groups of people with these types of ideologies. In fact, during her first year she made a point of telling everyone that the above groups will be her focus. Sadly, their ratings on every site are horrific because their focus is on social change rather than customer service and innovation.

I am now in week three of attempting to close my account and get my savings money from them. I've been told that a check to me has been written and is in the mail. When I check the tracking number with USPS, I get a message that a label has been created, but nothing has been turned-over to the USPS. This is day two of that message.

Got it! I was wondering if this bank paid organizations off to make them look good. Theres no way this place is A+ rating. I cant get ahold of ANYONE to get answers. BECU takes money out of my checking account and applies it towards my credit card bill- which is fine- but they TAKE THE MONEY A WEEK BEFORE IT IS DUE.And I would love it if someone responded to this because I cant get a hold of anyone else via phone!! Ive been on hold OVER AN HOUR!!

******* has had a joint acct with my mom at BECU for decades. The acct is over $500,000 and has been sitting there for over 20 years. Grandma passed 7 months ago and my parents have been getting the run around. Surely BECU is making money off of investing it and they don't want to let it go... This is absolutley ridiculous. We have sent in all the forms at least three times after being told they don't have this or that. "Your ssn on this form is wrong" ?? what?? Nope, it's correct! This is an ******* ********** we're getting a lawyer and we're going to get whatever dividends the credit union has been making off this money for the past six months. Since this is when the original request was received by them.

Pathetic horrible bank to have business with! Been banking with them for 7 years for mh business and they have been harassing me with fraud charges instead of finding out who filed those charges

? 1-Star Review Title: Wasted Time, Credit Score Damage, and No Results I normally dont post negative reviews, but this experience with BECUs ************* deserves it.I wasted 3 full days and many hours going through their process, only to end up with nothing. Meanwhile, I applied with another bank and got approved instantly for $22,000 in 2 minutes 0% APR for 15 months and no transfer fees without submitting a single document.What makes it worse: BECUs process damaged my credit score, costing me 27 points on two bureaus and 10 points on a third, all for no outcome and no explanation. Completely unacceptable.This was a ridiculous waste of time, and their approach to customer service and ********************** inquiries is outdated and harmful. I strongly advise others to consider alternatives before applying!

Im wondering if this is a trend. Three years ago applied for a home loan through BECU. Decided to go through them for the loan because of the interest rate. At the 11th hour BECU called and said they made a mistake and we have to come up with $7000 out of our pocket to continue the loan. Reluctantly, we gave the money to continue and finish the loan fast-forward three years I applied for an RV loan got the loan and within the last two days of picking up the camper and finishing the process for the loan we had to come up with another bill of sale because BECU wasnt satisfied with the one we gave them, they neglected to tell us that because the loan was not for the maximum amount I was approved for that. We were only going to be allowed to have 72 payments instead of 120 which drove up our monthly bill. we agreed to that then 30 minutes before signing the paperwork and going to pick up the camper I was told we were going to need to come up with $3400 out of our pocket because they didnt value the Camper at the asking price. Am I the only one that sees trend here? regardless, I will not be applying for any RV loans with BECU in the future and again you can apologize for all you want, but it doesnt make up for the fact that youre a bank you should know these things and you shouldnt wait till the last minute to tell your customer.Review fromTiffani N

They no longer take loan payments. Told to go to *****. Go to ***** that location did not take payments either. Call BECU still trying to pay on my loan. Give routing number and checking info. It is put in wrong, I will later find out. Call today why money has not come out. They put it in wrong. Can take my debit info and "waive" fee. Answer yes to amount due for loan and "waived" fee. After Call get notified I was charged more than I said yes to. Fee was not "waived" call back yet aging told nothing they can do. Transaction is done. Ask for over charge amount be returned. Told nothing will be done. Ask to speak to manager. Told they will call back 24 to ************************************* by taking more than I authorized and I have to wait for manager call?! No customer service and all my time I have used trying to pay them. Act like I did something wrong! ******** customer service and impossible to pay them for a loan.
