    Agree with most of the reviews. They don't pay for claims. We insured our puppy at 8 weeks old. Around that time he got giardia, which they claimed must have been a pre-existing condition so they did not pay out. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and moved on. After our dog tested negative for giardia, about one month went by and he got sick again. He caught giardia again, but it was not the same infection since a month of him being negative went by. I sent them the lab work proving he was negative during that time and it was a new infection. They still said it was "pre-existing" and would not pay. Also brought in my dog to have his paw examined after what appeared to be a small injury. They said it was just a regular exam and would not pay... again. They are not worth your money. I'm looking into other pet insurances.

    This insurance is garbage - they charge you $75 a month make you wait 30 days and when you place a claim take another 30 days to review a claim and deny you. Do not buy it I had 2 cats with coverage and both had ineligible claims. But they did collect hundreds of $s from me. I would give no stars if the application allowed me too

    This insurance may be worth it for kittens. I adopted two adult cats who have been needing to take trips to the vet, but nothing has been covered so far. I have to make the decision to stop paying for Trupanion so that I can just create a generic savings account. A pre-existing condition appeared that I was only told about on a follow-up visit after I had signed up for the insurance.

    While sitting in the vet office with my sick cat, I received an email from Trupanion: MEDICAL INSURANCE FOR PETS Woohoo! Thanks to your veterinarian, your pet qualifies for 30 days of medical coverage... and there's absolutely no catch!! Our offer covers your pet for new, unexpected illnesses or injuries for 30 days.****, I did exactly as they asked. I created an online portal, added our credit card, even paid for coverage moving past the free first 30 days. I downloaded the first nvoice, gave my bank account for the auto deposit - and now it's "ineligible." Maybe because our pet ended up passing away, and no future money coming in? The old Bait and Switch. Taking advantage of emotionally distraught pet owners. Utterly despicable. Shame on you, Trupanion! You are preying on pet parents at their most vulnerable!!!

    DO NOT BUY THIS COVERAGE FOR YOUR PET!They state that they dont go up on your premiums as your dog ages but they dont tell you that they GO UP EVERY YEAR BECAUSE THEY CAN!Pet owners are paying the CEOs salary off the the love and concern of their pet Its a bait and switch!

    When I Signed up with Trupanion they label right on their website they cover ALL breed specific issues. I bought a ****** bull dog. She had to have her nares and a v**** pasty done which is breed specific. They will NOT cover It because the stated it was preexisting because my vet and I had a conversation about the possibility of her having it in the future based of of their breed specific history. I was told it was a preexisting condition because it was noted that we spoke about it in the soap notes of my dogs file. Regardless if it was chatted about it or not. the website says they cover all breed specific issues. That is False if they label it under preexisting conditions it will not be covered. She also had ear infection. My other dog was mother ******* her and licked her ears as a puppy which resulted in an ear infections. Now she went in for an ACTUAL Skin infection and they are saying since she had previous ear problems that they are related. Not even the same type of Bacteria. she also had a pimple on her ear. they labeled It as a growth and will not cover any masses. This company is a joke.
