I moved out of Enclave Redwood Apartments in June 2020. They told us that we owed over $900 in move out fees. We disputed and it took almost six months to resolve the issue. The final bill was readjusted to about $250 and we paid that. Fast forward to February 2023, we receive mail from IQ Data International stating that we owe over $1200 in unpaid fees from Enclave Redwood Apartments. They claimed that they kept reaching out, in which case this was the first letter we received of such a thing. They claimed to call multiple times in which case my first communication with them is when I called them in 2023. There shouldn't be a balance due on my behalf and now this is ruining our credit report over something that shouldn't even exist since it was already resolved almost three years ago. I am filing this complaint because I want the charges removed and I my account closed. I have the final bill from the apartment and also my bank statement showing that I paid the amount in full. So, what IQ Data International is pursuing doesn't even match what I owed. I spoke with *********************** who wasn't much of help--essentially just kept trying to get me to pay.Business Response

I have had a dispute with prior company I was renting property from due to rent money being stolen from me during covid. due to apartment manager email getting hacked. I have reached out to IQ data multiple times first time I was yelled at by the collection agency phone support. The second time I was told interest was being charged on a collections account. I have been robbed already due to apartments lack of email security. Now the collection agency is trying to charge interest on a account . IQ Data International is trying to collect a debt of $13,487.00 from an apartment lease the I had never been apart of or had lived in the state let alone this apartment complex. I have disputed this claim and have been sent nothing. They are asking for supporting documents such as my Drivers license SS# and other private information which would allow someone to truly steal my identity. They will send me nothing regarding this except to file a claim on my credit report with no documentation to back up their fraudulent claim.Business Response

The collection agency listed above is reporting inaccurate information on my credit report that I should not be liable for with IQ DATA INTERNATIONAL. I noticed they are reporting inaccurate information on my Experian and Transunion showing wrong dates, amounts and reporting information. This agency failed to did provide me with documents stating that my collections account would increase twice a month with 10% interest. I ask that this be investigated and removed from my reports. US CODE **** e(b) states that a consumer reporting agency shall follow reasonable procedures to assure possible accuracy of the information concerning the individual to whom the report relates to in this case would be myself.Business Response

4 years ago I was living in ******************** and we had a natural disaster which was the hurricane *******, we lost our jobs and I struggled and I broke my lease 2 months before it expired. Terra Mar which was the leasing company sold the "debt" to a Debt Collector called IQ Data International and Terra Mar kept my deposit.This Debt Collector IQ Data International not only raised the so called 'Debt" and reported to the credit bureaus affecting me as my only collection. I called today to do a settlement of 15% which I think it is fair based on the circumstances and and a very aggressive person, angry (Ext ****) started talking over on the phone saying that no way she'll accept that unless I pay all. I don't owe the money they are saying. Terrible experience. I decided to go every way for my legal rights. Please help to intercede and solve this situation.Business Response

I.Q. Data is a debt collection company for *************************************, ****************************************************. They are attempting to collect a debt that does not exist. I moved out August 15, 2022 and they are trying to collect an additional 11 days of rent. I have sent them paperwork indicating that my last day was August 15, 2022. They have contacted the credit bureaus, even though this debt is being disputed. I have reached out to I.Q. Data and no one will return my call. What are my options for resolution?This debt does not exist and my credit, and my sons credit, needs to be restored. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Good Morning. Last evening I received a response from *********************, Quality Control Assistant, I.Q. Data International, **** that was forwarded to me from the Better Business Bureau. I am taking this opportunity to respond to his request for additional information regarding the date the apartment was vacated. I am looping in *************************** of the Office of the Attorney General for the *****************************.
In his response, **************** "appreciates the consumer providing his 60-day notice to vacate form, however, while this shows the date the unit was intended to be vacated, it is not sufficient to determine he vacated on that date. If the consumer were to provide other documentation showing he vacated the unit on that date, we will reinvestigate at that time".
Please find attached to this email the information from the BBB, as well as the letter from **************** dated January 20, 2023. In addition, below you will find 2 links to 7 videos I took at the completion of the move out which was completed on Saturday, August 13, 2022. I.Q. Data has reached out to the Credit Bureaus and notified them regarding this debt collection even though it was being disputed. The attached documentation fulfills ******************** request for additional information regarding evidence of the move out date.
At this time I am requesting that the complaint be closed. A letter stating that the complaint has been closed should be sent to me, the BBB, the ***** and the Office of the Attorney General for the *****************************. The Credit Bureaus need to be informed by I.Q. Data that this complaint is closed and that it should be deleted from the file of both myself and ********************* (who is also listed in the complaint). I have reviewed the business response and it is not true facts!We were not evicted, but left on our own free will... due to the dangerous environment we were living in,
with the drugs, drunks, fighting every night in the parking lot till 4am, I have photos
of them selling guns. But this *************** says Im being charged for carpet and damages, the carpet was old **** carpet, and no
damage to the apt, we were only there 8 months. He has provided no proof of damages, or photos, and keeps charging interest
and there is no mention in interest in the contract. I will have to refer this to the Atty ******** ****** if you cant resolve this matter.

I believe the date was 11/4/2022 I called to inquire about setting up a payment arrangement. I explained my situation and was told that it would look good on my account if I made a payment of $85 I said okay I will pay the $85. I was told I would get a call back about payment arrangement options etc. I got a call the next day and was told that November 18th is the day I would have to pay the full balance of over $8,000 and they would charge it to my card. I did not authorize for any payment to be scheduled or for my card information to be kept on file. I was given no disclosure no explanation of the process or anything that would inform me or bring about an awareness. This was news to me and there response was I agreed to it so either I pay it or they take further action. I asked if I could apply for a hardship because Im not financially able to make that lump sum payment. I got qualified for the hardship but the options were still pay over $2,000 a month until its paid off. Another option was for it to be settled for $2000 less then the full amount. I let them know none of the options are doable because of my financial standing. They were inflexible and unwilling to compromise. Then they told me that because I made the payment it gave them the green light to take further action but they did not tell me that before I made the payment. They were using deceptive tactics to get me in a compromising position. I asked to speak to a manager and he was nonchalant and just regurgitated the same thing. I let it be known that I want to dispute what theyre doing so someone can review what took place. Said he would send it up but I couldnt speak to the dispute team to state my case. I asked for the scheduled charge to be removed and was told if it was removed then they would say that I am evading the debt and would take me to court. Basically I pay off the debt or I pay off the debt. These practices made me feel cornered and are very unprofessional.Business Response
