Strayer University is claiming I owe them ****** from overpayment of disbursement of refunds from federal education program. I have 3000 in loans for this semester and since October start date, I have received Honor roll and president honor roll. The refunds are disbursement through a third party. A year and half in their institution. Never had a issue in overpayment. Just fishy to think someone in their financial department would do a great mistake as in overpayment. Just ridiculous. I am not going back. They are impeding on my educational journey. This is very disturbing that a institution would do this to Americans in such dire circumstances in this time of our economy. I want my certificates for the classes I finished and passed. I feel they are holding them.Business Response

This school is absolutely the worst. They provide no real help or proper explanations, putting you in a situation where finishing school seems impossible. When you run out of financial aid, they offer no resources to assist you. Their so-called success coaches refuse to take responsibility for misleading students. It's a joke. Halfway through my degree, tuition costs skyrocketed without any warning until I was already out of financial aid. Now I'm stuck and unable to finish with no help available. I should have chosen a more affordable school. When you first enroll, they act like they're supportive, but when it matters, they can't provide accurate information. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this school to anyone.Business Response

Strayer kept taking my fans a money even when I never posted attendeance due to having covid during two semesters and being in a very abusuve relationship that resulted in me braking my ankle in 4 places and then my wrist in the ankle recovery. I have MANY emails back and forth where they refused to make accommodations despite me being under the *** provisions as well. They took 5 quarters of payments with me never posting attendance and my success coach was a joke too. They always had excuses why this was okay and as such I am unable to finish my degree and they will not release my transcript. In all this i went from a president list student to a 2.1 average due to all the ** they put on my transcript. This school is criminalBusiness Response

In November 2023, I decided to sign up for college to better myself for my family. I, as most people, know nothing about the college process and I was very curious! So, I called and I spoke to an advisor ***************************. She explained to me that she wouldnt know the cost until she had already signed me up but she assured me that my financial aid would cover it and I wouldnt have any out of pocket cost. Then she text me and told me she has run the numbers and everything looks good to sign up (Showed in text message attachment) I explained to her that I am a mother of three and we are on one income so I have no extra money for this, if it costs. And if it does cost then I am okay with choosing another route. I was very open with everything. I agreed to signing up because she again called me to tell me that there was no expenses. Fast forward to a week later, ** getting emails to get loans and apply for loans. I am speechless because they are telling me that I now owe thousands of dollars. I called and explained to everyone how ******* scammed me in and lied to me about everything. No one cared and pretty much told me I was on my Own. Then a month later I get a bill for almost $1000. I have called and called no one will answer my call or email. I have emailed the grievance center and explained and showed picture proof. Its obvious that this place only wants money, they dont care about you. Why wouldnt someone at strayer understand the situation and help me with it? I owe money because *************************** lied to me and didnt tell me all of the details. Advisors should explain everything and care about the students. All she said was, in the admissions office, we think out of pocket money is upfront but to me, *****, out of pocket money is any money out of pocket. Tell me why no one can understand that? I have no money to pay this college because *************************** wanted a bonus on signing dumb people up for nothing but bullcrap at this college.Business Response

I have been a student at Strayer University since 2021. I am currently about 2 quarters away from graduating with my bachelor's in criminal justice. I recently was notified that I was being expelled immediately accusing me of submitting a fraudulent temporary ID card for identity verification in which I absolutely did not do and do not know what they are referencing in any way. When I ask the assistant dean for an explanation she stated the information was confidential and refused go tell me anything that explained why this was being said and told me to send an appeal in for review. When ask how do I know how to defend the accusation if I have no ideal what they are referring to about the ID. The response I received several times was "is this your appeal". I then did the best I could to gather anything that I could defend this with getting a print out from the DDS in Alabama along with a letter of explanation as to changes on my identification. It took all of 2 hours for the appeal to be denied again with no interaction other than it was denied. There was a disciplinary hearing held without me or me having knowledge of until after the decision to expel me was made as well as an appeal review or hearing that was denied saying no information was submitted that constituted an appeal hearing to be set. This school has no reported conduct violations or academic counseling on file for me. I have an impeccable record to date making either the presidents or deans list every quarter in my time attending the school. I was scheduled to have my 4 year degree completed in less than 3 years. They now have waited until the day after cut off to drop classes to expel me which means my financial aid will not pay out and i will be responsible for paying out of pocket for the classes in which I was enrolled and will be made to do so before my transcripts will be sent to a new school. I also have ask several times where to file a complaint and was told there is not a higher dept.Business Response

Strayer University has held up my Financial Aid. I am a Law Student who relays on my financial aid solely to support myself. All my expenses for school have been paid to my account. Strayer holds disbursements even when their paid before school starts. This puts myself and other students in binds with credit beaurus and it's unfair. I need my disbursement nowBusiness Response
