Ive started college this year and the issue I have with them is my loans. They were saying the deadline was the 24th for funds to be sent out. They havent provided me with any information and they started disbursements Jan 15th. The only thing they tell me is that everything is good on my end and its something with their system. Which is understandable but I have personal problems I was expecting a refund and now Im even more behind in my life while still keeping on top of my work and doing the school stuff everyday. Mainly just want some cooperation or them to give me something other than everything is fine when its clearly not and if so a lot of us students are having the same issue they could at least send out mass emails or something of the sort. If you guys could help Ill be grateful.Customer Answer

On January 8th, forms were completed to finalize financial aid and begin the semester. All documents were submitted but no progress was made in the schools financial aid portal. They had recently updated to a new system and nobody took my concerns seriously and continued to tell me everything would be ok and that I need to be sure to attend class. Countless phone calls, emails and voicemails led nowhere and now, the school is saying that because I attended classes, I will owe. I am fine with paying for school with the loans for which I am eligible, but the school appears to be ignoring the financial aid, but I am accruing student expenses.Business Response

I have been attending Strayer University online since 2020.;the last two years I have struggled with homelessness and severe financial hardship which has caused my academic standing to degress. I was put on academic suspension in spring 2024 and was appealing that decision this month. On the 22nd of January I was sent an email from student affairs stating I was expelled from strayer due documents sent trying to defraud the institution. This claim is 100% false and they did not allow me a right to due process. I didn't want to attend strayer I wanted to transfer but they told me that wasn't possible that I would have to go through the appeal process there and remain there two more semesters before I could transfer.Business Response

I have been having issues eith administration, admissions, success coaches and the financial aid department ever since I've been enrolled at Strayer (2014). I have a copy of my disclosure statement from *** that shows dates of my financial aid disbursements and amounts. Financial aid was scheduled to disburse on 1/15 yet my GRAD PLUS LOAN hasn't been paid yet. I have called, emailed, chatted via the school Icampus portal and still no logical explanation for the delay in disbursement. Call waits are over 3 hours, sometimes the representatives are irrate and hang up on me when I inquire about my account and disbursement. I was put on an "financial suspension " for absolutely no reason because I have a high GPA and posted attendance. I have submitted all documents required and accepted my reward 3 times since the Fall term. I even called months ago in October to ensure that everything was go to go for my financial aid and was told I was good! It's 1/23, no funds disbursed yet. I have not gotten an update on my case/tickets submitted and My loan still hasn't disbursed and a representative told me that I won't get any funding until mid February " if I get any funds." They're not going into detail about this delay or technical issue. I'm really worried about covering my tuition. What if I don't get anything? I can't afford to pay out of pocket tuition expenses, I am unemployed. There are hundreds of worried students like me that haven't gotten an explanation to this issue and the school has left us in the dark. This is unorganized and unprofessional! I've filed a complaint with *** because no one is trying to rectify the situation or give us an explanation.Business Response

There are a vast amount of students on Strayer website who are complaining about not receiving their money since Strayer switched to a new financial aid portal - myself included. I have a parent plus loan that I was told by ******* *****, I had to accept and sign under the parent proxy account. I informed her that under the parent proxy account - nothing it happens, it does not work. ******* ***** offered no solution, and that issue is out of the parent/student hands. My son parent plus loan is still sitting with them, not released. I also am contacting and filing a very detailed complaint with the ************************* and I am more than happy to log into Strayer and take detailed videos of the complaints filed. I have attached some pages of those complaints, but there are over 400 pages on the actual Strayer Website. My complaint - my Parent Plus loan cannot be accepted under the new Proxy account that I was directed to do so by ******* ***** and she offered no assistance on getting it figured out. I also attached my correspondence with her. Strayer continues to post "standard verbatim" messages, and I dont need a standard verbatim message, something needs to be done and they need to release my money and all the other students.Business Response

I attend this school and I did work and everything was satisfactory but for some reason my aid did not pay like other students aid. My aid is late and I don't know why! I did all requirements and this is the last quarter of my degree and for some reason that they won't tell me they decided not to pay my aid when everyone elsee was paid. I feel very singled out and would like to know why they did this. I am the one that has to pay the money back, I am the one who has to complete all this work, why are they holding MY money I do not understand and am getting more and more frustratedBusiness Response

I am writing to formally file a complaint against Strayer University regarding unfair treatment and deceptive practices during my attempt to complete my masters degree.I was using my VA benefits to pursue my degree at Strayer University, but with only two classes remaining, my benefits ran out. I registered for the final two courses and entered my credit card information into their system. I even received confirmation from my coach that I was set to begin. However, on the first day of classes, I was notified that both of my classes were ************ the following quarter, I registered for the same two classes again. This time, Strayer University informed me that instead of needing just two classes to graduate, I now required four due to some transfer credits exceeding the maximum transfer limit. This would significantly increase my out-of-pocket expenses by over $3,000.I find this situation deeply troubling. There was no valid reason for Strayer University to cancel my original two classes, as my payment information was already in their system. It seems that Strayer University intentionally cancelled my classes to force me into reapplying, resulting in an increase from two to four classes, which in turn raises my financial burden unnecessarily.I have contacted Strayer University for assistance, but they have responded that there is nothing they can do to resolve this issue.I believe these actions are unfair and potentially deceptive, designed to increase their profits at my expense.Business Response

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Strayer University due to ongoing issues with my financial aid disbursement, specifically concerning the Grad PLUS loan. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this matter through direct communication with the university, the problem remains unresolved. Between April 2024 and the present, I have contacted Strayer University multiple times regarding the disbursement of my financial aid. The issue originated in the Spring Term when the university incorrectly listed me as a half-time student for the Fall semester. Despite my repeated calls to rectify this error before the financial aid was disbursed, it was not resolved until weeks after the Spring semester ended. Currently, there is a balance of $******* on my account, which the ********************** acknowledges is owed to me. However, they have not released these funds. This morning, I received the following explanation: "I hope all is well. I have received a further update on your account for you. The reason why you are unable to accept the $1702 on your account is due to that funding would have gone to the Spring 2024 quarter. As your application for the Graduate PLUS loan for the Spring quarter is expired at this time, this is why you are unable to accept the additional amount. You are awarded up to the cost of attendance for the Summer and Fall quarters so we are unable to add the additional funding to those quarters." This explanation is unsatisfactory and contradicts previous assurances that my account would be updated correctly. Following their advice, I submitted several credit checks, only to be met with misinformation and further complications. I have attached the conversations with the **************** Aid Advisor and emails with the financial aid department for your reference. I sincerely wish you could review the numerous calls and the misleading information provided to me throughout this process. I am requesting the immediate release of the ******* that I am owed.Customer Answer
