about a month and a half ago one of the hawx salespersons came to my door and lied to my dad. He told my dad that this company was offering a one-time pest control service and it wasn't necessary to enroll in any auto-pay method, my dad thought that it was a good idea to sign the paper that the salesperson gave him, nevertheless, my dad told him that he wanted to pay by cash, but he said that it was imminent to pay with debit or credit card, we tried to cancel many times and no one answered any of our phone calls, about 3 weeks ago after many hours of wait one of the representatives answered my phone call I explained him everything that happened and how the sales person approached the situation (btw my dad is not very fluent with his English)The first representative told me that in order to cancel I will have to pay a $200 fee, and he said that if I had called them 2 days before I would have been free; I did call them before but no one answered my phone calls, he hanged up on me... after a few minutes I contacted them again, this time it was a different representative that answered my phone call, The representative told me that he was very sorry for the inconvenience and that he would submit a cancelation petition, he also told me that he would delete my personal information from the system and that I was supposed to receive an email in the next 3 days, well no email was sent from you guys. Trusting the representative's words I thought that the service was already canceled, well I got charged again and I have been trying to contact them again but they are constantly replying to my phone call and sending me to the automatic voice mail, I find this very disrespectful coming from a " big company that has been on the businesses for more than 12 years" I expect a response from you guys as soon as possible. I have attempted to cancel my services upon the completion of my 12 month contract. I followed the instructions provided by Hawx Pest Control. I submitted in writing that I wanted to cancel. I received a message stating they would like to speak to me before they canceled. I have been unable to speak to a live person via phone. I have been charged twice since this cancellation request. I received an e-mail again stating they would reach out to me and if they could not contact me, they would cancel the service. They never reached out and I was charged after that email. I cannot get a response or anyone on the phone. I have two charges that I would like to be reimbursed for as they should not have happened per the cancellation of the service I requested via Hawx instructions. You cannot get a hold of anyone via phone.Business Response

I signed up with service for mosquito treatment. They came 5 times with minimal improvement. But I had to keep calling for service. After 5 tries there really isnt any reason to continue service. Its not doing what they promised. I have been trying to cancel service for almost 3 weeks and now nobody will call me back. They wont return emails. I email every other day and no real response. Just we will get back to you but nobody does. 0/5 stars if I could. Very horrible service. Have been trying to resolve issue on my own for over a month and the company will not reply.Business Response

***********************, Hawx representative of ************, ********, came to our door on May 19th, 2023. He explained that Hawx would service every QUARTER for basic pest package deal and would charge ONLY QUARTERLY and would be able to TERMINATE THE CONTRACT without any early termination fee. He completely MISINFORMED us on agreement termination requirements. HE ALSO PROMISED that the first quarter service would be free for educators. That was NOT THE **** when I called the Hawx Pest Control **************** for a reminder of the promised refund of the first service (after 14 business days later). Instead, I was informed that **** did everything he was NOT supposed to do to customers. I had made numerous phone calls that continued with hours on hold and never reaching a person failing to reach anyone for communication.The company did not own up to their faults and put me on a hold and dropped the call instead. I have called 8 more times since the first call and each hold on call has been averaging at 1 hour and 45 minutes and eventually the call dropping at the end.I have further reached out via email multiple times and they have NOT provided with any solution for this issue.I am seeking legal action with my attorney as this is clearly a fraud as a business. I am NOT surprised by the complaints on the BBB website and this business needs to be audited and reviewed properly. Thank you.Business Response

HAWX sales rep lied to me from the start by coming to my home, then saying I'm signing an agreement for a one time pest control service. Then I found out I actually signed a 12 month agreement with them for monthly fees. When I explained this to HAWX management, they refused to cancel my account without an expensive termination fee. This business has lied to me to gain business, then attempts to receive additional money to cancel my account. Please help!Business Response

I find it impossible to talk to any person and my calls have been on hold for long periods of time causing even more frustration. As of this moment I have not talked to anyone. I have not had service since last April. I was finally contacted and given a ************* that a technician would be at my residence to spray/service my home and property. After waiting the day without any service from your business and no contact I received, the next day, an email that the service technician would not be able to service my residence. Again, I have not been able to contact the business and now request cancelation of any further business with your agency.Business Response

We have had the pest control services for a few months. When we were initially seen we were told that there would be a follow up in 30 days. That did not happen until we called and requested someone come out. They missed our first quarterly spray and we again had to call for someone to come out. We started seeing more activity inside the home so we called to have them come back out for an interior spray (which does not happen at the quarterly spray). We were told that an interior spray would void our next quarterly spray. Fine, we agreed. This brings us to yesterday. We were sent an email with photo proof of completed services. We have cameras on our property, no one stepped foot on our property. In addition the photo was a closed commercial business - not our home. I have called to cancel however after waiting over an hour I had to disconnect the line. We are not satisfied with services, lack of efficiency, or blatant lying about completed services and find this to be breach of contract which supports our request of immediate cancelation.Business Response

Around July 11th, 2023, a salesman knocked on my door. After some back and forth I agreed to a ONE time service of $50 dollars. The gentleman, ******, took my information down. As he was putting me into the system, I saw on his Ipad that several months were checked for services. I called him out on it, and he said it's how their system is designed. He said they have to do it this way, but if I truly only wanted the one time payment, call back within 30 days and there would be no issue. I called only July 30th, I got busy with life, to make sure i was truly canceled and not getting any more services. The lady was rude as h*** and I was told its 200 dollars to cancel. I told her i was not in a contract and thats not what i signed up for. I told her what the salesman told me and what you are claiming are totally different. I want an immediate refund for the 200 dollar cancellation fee and for the terrible information that was described to me. What they tell you and what you sign are totally different. Not to mention that hours of waiting on the phone to actually talk to someone.Business Response

Memorial Day a sales agent was going around our newly developed neighborhood soliciting Hawx pest control stating first month is $1 then subsequent months billing $59.99 with cancellation at any time but if canceled before first month I will be charged $59.99 instead of just $1. I signed up never received any contract and was only serviced one time and that was in May and no difference was noticed in bugs and pests. I called to cancel but can never get through to a customer service agent. I even left my number with the call back option stated when called and never received a call back. No business is ever that busy where they do no return customer calls or answer the phone.Is this a scam? I would never recommend Hawx pest control to anyone!Business Response

I have been trying to cancel my service for 4 weeks. I have tried to use their online live chat but they stated that I had to call the customer service number. I have called 5 times over the 4 weeks and I have never actually been able to reach a representative. I have waited on hold for over 2 hours each time, again without ever reaching a representative. They offer a call back service, which I tried twice, but they don't provide any advance notice so they called at times that I wasn't available or couldn't get to the phone quick enough. I tried to call them back asap but again was placed on hold for over 2 hours, without ever reaching a representative. They make it impossible to cancel my service, which isn't professional or appropriate.Business Response
