I do not recall the exact date of the but around mid June. This case is very simple. I was outside doing yard work when a Hawx Salesman came by and I told him from the beginning that I wasn't that interested in the service.
The salesmen really wanted the sale and said that he would pay for the first pest spray. I told him I wasn't going to give him my credit card as I really didn't want the service to begin with. I told him I would take the 1 time spray and sign up for the monthly service if I noticed a difference. He agreed and didn't mention a single thing about this actually being the monthly service as well as a 12 month contract or that I would be responsible for any payments after the first month. He then used HIS credit card to sign up for what I thought was going to be a one time service.
I shrugged it off and was happy to get a free spray until I started getting emails and calls about payments. The best "proof" I have is that the card that was used was his credit card and has no link to myself whatsoever. I would be happy to provide all my past and current credit cards to confirm this. I think this helps prove that I really didn't have any interest in a 12 month contract and that he lied to me about any responsibility I had after the one time I was expecting them to come by to spray.
I tried to call their office and explain the situation, but they did what most companies probably do and said....well even though he may have lied you did get an email with the contract. The problem with this is the fact that I wasn't aware it was a 12 month contract because the salesman lied to me about it. I could care less that its $40 a month charge. Its the simple fact that I was lied to and refuse to pay a company that still wants to charge me for it. All I wanted was for them to say "We understand the situation and with terminate the contract." Unfortunately, here we are and I feel I need to do this to make sure I protect myself in some manner.Business Response

I very kind college kid was working door to door in the summer heat and did not explain the terms of service what-so-ever or that I would be charged a cancellation fee for services. Further, there was zero evidence of performance of services. After the first "service", I specifically asked for ant treatment, and there was a massive ant mound three feet away from our back door that was not treated. I immediately complained and received ZERO correspondence on my disapproval of service. Further, I tried to cancel this service and received a refund and was met with rude customer support personnel after rude customer support personnel. The terms were not explained and service was not provided. I'm demanding refund and cancellation of services and will not accept being charged a termination fee.Business Response

This contained details of the monthly payments, quarterly/seasonal services, complimentary Warranty Services in between full services if needed, and the early termination fee if cancelled prior to the end of the initial year term.
We have no record of a request for an additional service after your initial service on June 2, 2025. Indeed, we have no record of contact from you until July 29, 2025 where you called requesting to cancel, but ended the call after the early termination fee was mentioned.
We would be happy to close your account if that is your wish, and will apply the early termination fee per the terms of your signed agreement. If however, you would like to keep your account open, and receive service, we would be happy to get you scheduled as quickly as possible.

Hawx Pest Control’s deceptive contracts and broken promises make it a nightmare. They lured me into a 12-month contract they didn’t disclose, then refused to cancel despite complaints to managers and the BBB. Their promised $39.99 credits for two months never appeared—a clear bait-and-switch. The cancellation process was grueling, and after assuring me my account was clear, they charged me another $39.99 four days later. Their service barely handled ants and spiders, far worse than Orkin. Hawx thrives on misleading customers and dodging accountability. I can’t recommend them—avoid at all costs. I’m still waiting for my $39.99 refund, but I’m not hopeful. As mentioned in your last complaint on this platform, we advised the original $80 credit was applied due to you choosing to remain a customer. If you instead wished to cancel, we could remove that credit, and apply the early termination fee per the terms of your signed agreement, and addendum. As we didn’t hear back from you, and you continued to accept services, the credits remained, and your account remained open.
Also, another credit has since been applied to your account, and we have applied the promised refund for the May 30, 2025 payment on July 25, 2025. Please allow up to 7-10 business days for that to reflect back to your payment method. Your account is closed, there will be no further services.

I called Hawx pest control to cancel my termite service and they transfered me until I was disconnected. It's a stereotypical move that's happened to me 4 times in the past 90 minutes. I am not under contract for termites, so there is no need for me to have to fight to cancel a $20/month service.Business Response

Salesman came to my door June 26, 2025 to sell me services. I asked about being in a contract and he stated that it was for a year, but if I wanted to cancel within that year to let him know and he would knock the price of the cancellation fee down to $100. The salesman explained the services that would be performed by the company and promised I would be happy with the end result. The technician came to my house to complete services. After the technician left my house, I noticed spider egg sacks still present outside and spiderwebs in the garage. I sent pictures to the salesman with a message that I was not happy with the services because the work was not completed as agreed. The salesman apologized and stated he would contact the office and ensure they sent someone to correct the issues. After three weeks with no communication from the company, I reached out to cancel the account and was told that I would have to pay a $199 cancellation fee. I explained that the services were not performed as agreed and was offered additional services. I declined additional services because the first services I paid for were never completed. I contacted the salesman directly again explaining in detail that I was not happy and why. He conference called with the Office Manager who took responsibility for not returning to complete the work, but still wanted to charge $199 cancellation fee. By the end of the conversation, we agreed to cancel the account with no cancellation fee because the services paid for and promised were not completed. Two days ago I received a bill for $199 cancellation fee. I've reached back out to the salesman with no response. This company has failed to provide promised services with deceptive sales tactics in order to receive monies for cancellation fees without rendering proper services agreed to in the initial contract, and did not honor the agreement we made on the conference call by cancelling the account with no cancellation fee.Business Response

Today, we had our driveway sealed. While it was still wet, the door-to-door salesman from this company was walking all over it. The driveway was clearing blocked off and if he didn't notice that, the wet paint smell and the tacky surface had to give it away. When we pulled up to our house in the street, he came to our car and started his pitch. We told him we weren't interested and too please stay off our still wet driveway. He continued his pitch, and again, we told him we were done talking. I also advised him that this is a no soliciting neighborhood. He acknowledged that, then once again, he walked up our wet driveway to retrieve his scooter and then, back down to the street. We continued our errands, and when we returned after sunset, he was still there ringing our neighbors' doorbell. Noone should be allowed to invite themself to your home, leave potentially permanent footprints in your driveway. and when asked to quit doing it, do it again. It was totally rude and invasive. If I ever see them soliciting in our neighborhood again, I will immediately and ask that they be arrested for trespassing.Business Response

This business is the most unprofessional, deceitful business that exists. We received no service since March, had been a customer for years already. They lied when my wife signed a contract saying the price would go down and be treated quarterly. Neither happened. I sent a cancelation email in writing and the company charged me $50 the next day, and said I had to call to cancel. I called and said I would pay their $199 cancelation fee just to get away from their lies, and asked the rep to credit the $50 they charged after I canceled in writing. They refused both and charged me the cancel fee. So I paid from March to July with no service being done and also paid $199 to cancel. I asked for a manager and was told he was one and I would oblnly speak to him. I was irate at this point over the unprofessional, dishonest practices. I will tell everyone I know not to use this company. Including in my home finance work. I will tell everyone how dishonest this company truly is.Business Response

I signed up for this "service" because a young man stood on my porch and would not leave or take NO for an answer. He was pushy and annoying; I said yes to get him off my porch. The service is completely ineffective, and I do NOT WANT IT ANYMORE. I DO NOT WANT CHEMICALS SPRAYED IN MY YARD where my child plays and my animals run. I called to cancel and was informed I would have to pay $400 to the company to cancel the service that young man signed me up for. This is extremely deceitful and quite a pathetic way to do business. These people were hired for service at my In-laws' house with the basic plan consisting of money down and payments over twelve months. When my in-laws stated it wouldn't solve the problem, they tried to "up-sell" services to her. The never performed any services at the house at all. When they refused, and I called to cancel the service, they played on the phone transferring me to 7 different people but never cancelled the service. Then they say there is a cancellation fee according to their agreement however, they didn't even provide the first service! These people are con artists! I paid on the 17th and went to cancel on the 23rd with no services rendered. They are criminals!Business Response

I have been trying to cancel my service with this company since July 2025 the reasoning for the cancellation of need is because I was given a misleading quote about there termite service involving a service that is installed in the ground around the home to monitor termite activity. I refused the service the day the inspector came out for the inspection due to him stating that it could cost up to 1500.00 for the installation fee I states to him that my husband wouldn’t allow me to make a decision like that without informing him of the cost. So in may I received a test message from one of there technicians “******” asking if I was still interested in the service as they were have termite infestation in the area and they were waving the installation fee and it would cost an additional 10.00 per month for the services. I stated to him if this was the system that was provided at the service inspection he stated that it was the exact system and I was sure to ask about the waving of the installation fee and the monthly charge he agreed so I stated that I would do so since I want having to pay the 1500.00 installation fee. He stated to me that the system would be installed with my next service appointment as it would only take about 30 mins I never received such service so I called the company to find out about the situation and was told that the service given to me wasn’t what ****** had texted me and that it was a monthly monitoring every three months. So as I felt I was simply mislead by one of there technicians that I would prefer to cancel my service. With that being said I was told I would be charge a 200.00 cancellation fee I understood the fee but ***** to whom I spoke with that ****** should be responsible for the fee she states that she was going to check further into and call me back..never received a follow call called again today July 22, 2025 and and still getting a run around. I have currently been on hold 1hr for ***** with CS until the phone disconnected.Business Response
