Complaint Details:
On [insert date], a Hawx Pest Control salesperson visited my home in Frisco, Texas. I made it clear that I did not want a contract and only wanted a one-time pest control service. The salesperson agreed and performed a one-time service.
However, after the service, the company began contacting me and falsely claiming that I had agreed to a year-long service contract costing $438. I never signed any such agreement nor authorized recurring services.
Since then, I have received repeated calls and text messages demanding payment, including this message:
“We wanted to send a quick reminder that your $438 payment is due. Please log into your Hawx portal to pay. You can reach us at ************.”
I have requested that Hawx send the salesperson who promised the one-time service to clarify the situation, but they refuse. Instead, they continue to harass me for payment for a service plan I never agreed to.
Why I Am Complaining:
This is misrepresentation and an unfair sales practice.
I explicitly refused a contract and only agreed to a single service.
The company is attempting to collect money for services not agreed upon.

I have had pest service and rodent/mice service for many years. I still have evidence of rats in my garage and attic. The infestation in the attic is so critical, old insulation has to be removed, the attic disinfected and sanitized, and new insulation blown in. This is after all entrance points are sealed up (Exclusion.) Their quote for all services was $11,295.80! But, bc I’m such a good customer, they would throw in some traps for “free”. I have spoken to numerous “managers”, requesting financial compensation for, at least, the $1,540 their rodent service has cost me for the 43 months they were “protecting” my home. Their best and final offer, after speaking with *****, ****** and ***** in Salt Lake City, is: one free pest control service and a $10 reduction on future services. After this “free” service on Saturday, you can be sure I will cancel both contracts with Hawx. Just. Not. Right.Business Response

This company is a scam!
They charge you monthly for services done quarterly. When they don't show up for months, they fight you and after hours on the phone only credit you for 1 month.
In my case they opened 2 separate accounts under my one address. Charged me $50.00 for one service and 53.98 for another service (inside and outside) monthly.

HAWX didn't show up for inside service for 6 months totaling $269.90 of services then when you try to cancel, they try and charge you 199.00 cancelation fee.
in reality they broke the contract by not showing up on scheduled services.
It's my belief HAWX opened 2 accounts on purpose, so you have to spend 2 cancelation fees. and when you are owed money like in my case they are "unable" to credit one account with backpay from another account even if it's the same card and address.

After hours of the run around over emails I was instructed to call the office **************
3 hours later we are told they would reduce the cancel fee of $199.00. but We still owe $117.00
they owe me $269.90 on my other account.
Not only are they charging me monthly and not coming they are not fixing the bug issues. I have never had more bugs than after they started spraying
I was ok with them canceling the accounts and keeping the difference, but now that we have wasted time and are still being charged after I am owed money i will not pay the $117 until I am refunded the $269.90Business Response

Upon reviewing your account, we noticed that you were enrolled in two separate services. The General Pest Control service is designed to create a protective barrier around your home to prevent pests from entering. Interior treatments are also available upon request should any pest issues arise indoors.
In April, you also enrolled in our Outdoor Mosquito Service, which is a seasonal monthly service billed after each treatment. As you opted to discontinue this service before the end of the seasonal agreement, an early termination fee was applied in accordance with our policy.
We have applied your General Pest Control payments from May through August toward the early termination balance. Additionally, a mosquito treatment was performed on July 2nd, which has not yet been paid. This has resulted in the remaining outstanding balance.
An invoice for this balance has been sent to the email address we have on file. To make a payment, please contact our customer service team at ************. We are available Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (MT) and will be happy to assist you.

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, Hawx Pest Control withdrew $600 from our bank account without authorization.Because this happened on a Sunday, there was no one available at **** to contact, leaving us without assistance until Monday. When we finally spoke to representatives, there was no sense of urgency in addressing the situation, despite the serious financial impact.Although **** has stated that the $600 refund has been processed, the funds have still not posted to our account. As a result, our account remains overdrawn, and we do not yet know the full amount of overdraft fees that will be charged due to this delay.This has caused significant financial stress, especially as we are a single-income household. Having $600 withdrawn without authorization and then delayed in being returned has placed us in a very difficult and unfair position.Business Response

When I requested service I informed them that I didn't want monthly service and was informed that I could only pay for the service that I received. That wasn't true. They ****** created a contract and has tried to take money from my account monthly. When I spoke with someone from billing to inform them that I didn't want service and to cancel, they have made it impossible to do so. I am bombarded with emails and calls on a constant basis and have asked to no longer be connected but they continue to do so. If I block one number, they call from a different number. Sales person came to my door in April 2025 to sell Hawx pest control service. I did not want to sign as I already had Bug Out service. He would not leave and told me Hawx would contact Bug Out to cancel the service. They did not. Because they did not live up to their end of the agreement, I tried to cancel their service.
They will not let me out of the contract or expect me to pay $250 to cancel. They make it very difficult to cancel; you MUST talk to a salesperson and cannot cancel online.
I believe they are a scam and use deceitful business practices to sign up customers. The resolution I want is to cancel the contract with them.Business Response
