I originally signed up with Vivint in June 2021 in Florida. After a family member passed, we put our house up for sale to move states. I tried to cancel my service just a couple of months later when the house sold. I was told I couldn’t. I had the cameras installed in our new home in Alabama in September 2021, which extended the contract. We had our cars broken into in our driveway where two cameras face. No video was recorded. I reached out to Vivint again out of the anger of our “security devices” not doing its job. Nothing was done. I just got off the phone with Vivint today after trying to cancel again. They have no record of previous contacts made to them. We also have Vivint at our business. The sales person lied, stating the new cameras could continuously record. The cameras rarely record anything. There was a car stolen out of the parking lot where we have two cameras facing as well. Nothing was recorded. Our app rarely works when trying to log in despite always being updated. The camera just spins and spins. It’s rare to get a notification and to be able to pull up the camera immediately. I do not want Vivint offering to come investigate the cameras at this point. I just want to cancel all of the services we have and send back the devices without penalty to us.

I am rejecting this response because: I have not received confirmation on what the business is willing to cancel as far as the finance charges in addition to the service cancellation. I would gladly send back all of the equipment if someone from Vivint would respond to my emails. I have only received one email from Vivint about cancelling our home service, no response about the business account or the finance charges.

I called Vivint on 11/28 to have my services cancelled because my house had sold and I was moving out of state. I paid fees to buy out of the contract and also paid for the equipment. I was told it could take up to 30 days to be cancelled. I was okay with that as long as there would be any issues--well it' 01/12/2024 and im still having to call Vivint to cancel and it's not cancelled all because of something they "forgot" to do on their end. I am closing on a new home in just over a week and they have not gotten this taken care of and have charged me more money and i was no longer using the system. every time iI call, they assure me it will be cancelled and the fees that are showing will be taken off because I paid in full. I want this taken care of ASAP. I am on hold with Vivint as i am typing this because the representative told me the exact same script that the others have continued to tell me. Something needs to be done about Vivint. This is not the first time I've heard of them trying to s**** their customers over, but I am witnessing it first hand today.

On October 17,2023, I followed all steps provided by a Vivint representative to cancel my account and was told it would take 30 days to cancel. As of January 11,2024, I am still being charged monthly and my account has not been canceled. I have spent hours on the phone since October and am only told we have escalated this issue and you will receive a refund. Three months later and Vivint is still charging my account. No one can give me answers why this happening and why it has not been done. I am looking for my account to be canceled and refunds of charges since October 17, 2023.

I have had this system and part of it doesn't work and never has. I've made multiple calls to try and resolve this. All they want to do is add a service plan and or charge for a tech to come out and resolve the issue. They asked me to get on a ladder and unplug the alarm. I am a disabled vet who CAN'T do that. And it should be their responsibility to make sure their equipment works properly. I have not missed a payment and I am paying for equipment that works intermittently and the light has never worked.

I have been trying to cancel my account for over a month. Everytime I call in they say it will take 30 days for them to close and they will issue me a refund. I have yet to get my refund from last month and they charged me again this month. I called in again and just like every other time they are escalating the issue but nothing is being done I dont know how to get them to stop billing me. All my equipment is paid off and I have no contract.

I moved out of ******************************************** on 8-2-23. I called Vivint and did everything required to close the account. They issued a credit check for the amount I overpayed--around $25.00. The account has been closed this entire time. Meanwhile, I received a statement dated 12/13/23 that claimed I owed $112.16 for services after 8-2-23. This is not possible, the account was closed ****** and I did not live at **** ***** Dr anymore. I called and Vivint's representative claims that the account was never closed and I owe for back services.....how can that be? I don't even live at **************** anymore and the equipment that is bought and paid for is in a box in my closet!!!!!!! This is BAD BUSINESS and very DISHONEST. Vivint is trying to collect $$ for services that have not been rendered on an old dormant account. I am so sorry I ever got involved with this company, their services are shoddy and they are extremely dishonest! They need to close the account and reverse the charges.

I have been trying to cancel this service for months and they continually charged my bank card so I finally had to cancel the card to avoid any further charges and they now refuse to cancel saying an additional $300 must be paid before the account can be cancelled and even threatening a negative report to the credit bureau. I have been out of contract for years and there no reason for them to continue to charge me. This is robbery!

I purchased Vivint home security from a door to door salesman in July 2022. Ever since this happened I have been lied to, scammed and extremely upset with the product. I kept hoping the situation would get better and resolve itself but through many attempts of contacting the company things have just gotten worse. First, they lied about the amount the equipment was going to cost, then they lied about the monthly payment. Upon contacting them all they gave me was an apology for being lied to, and clarified the amounts charged which was still twice the amount that I was initially told. This is unacceptable, I do not have this kind of money to be scammed out of, especially being a single mother in an area where there is an increase in crime due to an over abundance people moving into my area. To top it off, my equipment does not work. I have contacted them over and over that the main panel, doorbell and the camera system does not work. When I have contacted them, they basically told me they will not send any one out I pay a large fee. This complaint is due to being extremally frustrated with Vivint and just recently my car was broken into and other security issues. Again, this is unacceptable. I am paying for equipment that is worthless and they will not assist me and provide the service they promised and agreed to. I am literally throwing away money. They need to get their equipment and reimburse me for every ***** I have spent. Any other resolution is unacceptable.

On 1/17 I could not finish my conversation with Vivint as I had to return back to work. Therefore, we did not come together with an agreement.  I made attempts to contact Vivint back on Jan.19.  I left a voice message and did not hear back from them or receive any notifications from them.  I would like to continue with the complaint and get a full refund of my equipment and recent services that they are charging me when the services have not been working at all.  I would like to emphasize that my car was broken into and the people lingered around my home and the equipment and services has failed to inform anyone.  Even after contacting them before and after I have contacted Vivint for support and they have repeatedly not helped me even when I have spent an hour to 2 hours on the phone with them on multiple occasions.  AND they still are charging for their services.

I am rejecting this response because I did not agree with vivint.  I am requesting a full refund on my equipment.  I have called on numerous occasion for support and for Vivint to be a security company I do not feel safe having faulty equipment.  My equipment has not been working and I refuse to continue to trouble shoot my equipment by constantly shutting off my breaker just to see if it will jump start my equipment.  Needless to say, the equipment still doesnt work as advertised and I have to pay an additional $100 for a tech person  to fix my equipment.  No one mentioned that to me.  Also, this is a prime example of my equipment failing me.  My garage camera picked up a person getting in my car after roaming around outside my home.  I can tell the person rummaged through my car bc the driver door was open and the person was coming from the front of my house which my door camera has not been working at all.  So the only video that the camera picked up was when the person sat in my car until someone came to pick her up.   Which let me add the camera didnt pick-up when she left my car and got into another car.  Faulty cameras indeed!

      Sincerely,

      *********************

I have entered into a contract with vivint less than 2 weeks ago for security service. This has been nothing but a nightmare since the system were installed. I've lived in my home with no issues for 4 1/2 years with the thermostat. However, I have encountered so many issues since this installed. The thermostat will not turn on, it has been 2 days and no one able to assist me and it is freezing cold in the house. With a snow storm coming I am fear for me and my family life of what might happen with no heat in the home. The company is doing nothing to help and its all a joke them. At this point I want to be out of the contract and reinstall my original thermostat. The company needs to make this right and get me out of this contract immediately. This company is a liability and a hazard to customers

I started service with Vivint in aug of 2017. Everything was fine financially the first couple of months but had equipment issues out the gate and I was calling Vivint monthly if not weekly. In 2018 citizen bank stopped taking money for the loan on the equipment, I called and they had no explanation. Citizens sent the loan to ******** law firm. In 2020 they called me and we set up payment arrangements. In June of 2021 I called Vivint and talked to ************************* and he agreed to cancel my account after nothing but nonstop problems but I had to pay off the equipment first. The next day I paid it off with ******** and sent ******* proof. Never heard anything after that. In Oct of 2022 we notice Vivint had still been taking money monthly from my wifes bank acct. I called and talked to **** a manager and he said he would fix it. He said he was going to email me a cancellation notice I had to fill out, I never received it and followed up with him but I got a refund 5 days after I talked to him. In Dec 18 2023 we noticed that Vivint was still taking money out of the bank since Oct of 2022, I called and talked to garret and he said it would be fix in 5 days. Dec 27 2023 I called and they said it would be another 5 days. Jan 9 **** Vivint took $80 out of the bank. I called and I talked to ****. He said I had to pay off the loan, I emailed him proof I did it 3 years ago. This company is a fraud and I want my money back and them to leave us alone. This is the short version
