I received a letter from Progressive stating that my personal information had been breached. They sent it two months after it happened. My entire personal information was stolen according to their letter.
My name, address, Cell phone number, e-mail address, date of birth, social security number, bank account number and monthly income was stolen.
This is a BIG deal.
And all the offered was 12 months of credit protection for free. Really? The damage has been done.
I have had many leases through them been a good customer, paid off all my loans. I currently am in a lease right now.
I have paid more than double back what I borrowed.
I am asking that this final lease that I have with them be considered done, paid in full.

On 10/18/2023 I paid 142.76 to progressive leasing. This payment was earlier than my due date and because of the interface of the website it does not tell you that this one-time payment which should cover my original payment will not actually cover the original payment. On 10/21/2023 progressive leasing took out the original payment of 142.76 which then over drew my account and because of this I am now looking at a balance of -168.32. On Monday the 23rd of October 2023 I called them and spoke to an agent by the name of Carlos who explained to me that just because I paid earlier it will not cover the original payment. I explained to him that I have paid early numerous times before and have never had that problem. Eventually he agreed to refund my money which I have yet to receive. I am asking that they close both of my Best Buy accounts ******** and ********, remove my bank account information, and if they so choose to, they can send it to collections at least then I can work on paying it off. I am on SSDI and can no longer afford these payments.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:This is a paste and copy response which has nothing to do with my refund. I have included two screenshots one of the day I called and spoke to a man by the name of Carlos who said in 10 days they would refund my money and I have yet to see that refund. Progressive leasing knowingly took extra money out of my account though they had already been paid. I am putting this in writing and informing ProgressiveLeasing, LLC that I am taking away my permission for them to remove any money from my bank accounts this means savings account and checking account. If they choose to violate this request in any way they will be facing legal repercussions.

I am rejecting this response because: This is just another copy and paste response from them. This has nothing whatsoever to do with the refund I was promised by an employee of Progressive Leasing. I have already shown two screenshots that prove they took out money when they should not have. I don’t understand why they don’t just refund my money so I can get on paying what I owe? If they would just refund my money I could pay them but since they refuse to refund me I will be contacting the FTC and The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau along with the Iowa Attorney General’s Office because the had a data breach in which my information was taken and they never informed me.

Progressive leasing is a debt trap. This company is not upfront about there fees. I told them to move my payment to another date. They even posting letter on my door. Keep in mind one of the items I pretty much have paid back. But because of the fees I would have paid it twice when all said and done.. Good evening, sir or madam, I am emailing you to bring some attention to my account, an account that is about three weeks past due. I was trying to log into my account earlier today, but I was not able to log in, probably due to it being past due. Anyhow, all I can give you is my info: ***************************** ************************************************************* ****************** Last four of SS is **** I would rather communicate via email due to the fact that my phone is pretty locked down when it comes to unknown numbers, and I am afraid that I will miss an important phone call. So, email is easier. The loan that I am referring to is the ********** with sound bar and PS5 with accessories. I am having a difficult and stressful time trying to keep up with this lease, I have been in contact with reps to let them know about my situation and I really appreciate you guys working with me. But unfortunately, my car payment and utilities bills are more important at this time. And I would really like to keep the product and come up with some sort of arrangement that I can manage to pay, but at this time I cannot hold up to my end of the lease again unless we can work something out. The other thing and I will be transparent is that the PS5 is no longer in my possession, there was an issue, and it is no nonworking, pretty much trashed it due to the fact that **** would not repair it. I apologize and I am responsible for what I would still owe for that and would like to work something out for that. I do find it had to pay almost 1k worth of payments just to loose all that money invested, that is just throwing money away. So, I implore you, please allow me to keep the product and we can work out a repayment plan if at all possible. This is very stressful, and I do not need to be under this kind of stress as it affects my family life and my state of mind. I "financed" a bunch of home repair and home maintenance products with Lowe's through progressive leasing in March 2022. They were supposed to be delivered to my house. I have 2 vehicles - small Volkswagen beetles and the items would not fit in my vehicle, which includes a 17 foot painting ladder. They were not delivered. I called the store and they told me that I would have to pick them up and the fact that it let me schedule them as a delivery was a mistake. I spoke to the store manager and explained the situation. He then told me that he would schedule a delivery. They still weren't delivered. I called again and was told that some of the items weren't in stock and they didn't want to do a partial delivery so it could be a couple weeks before it was delivered but he would let me know. A week or two or more (?) Went by and I never heard anything but I got an email saying the items were picked up. I immediately called the store and told them that I did not pick them up, again because they wouldn't fit in my small vehicles. I again spoke to a store manager while told me that they had to mark them as "picked up" to clear the order out of their system for some kind of a compliance issue (?). At that point, I contacted progressive leasing since I had already made an initial payment on this lease and the next payment was about to be deducted but I still hadn't received my items. Progressive leasing told me that they would have to contact Lowes to confirm that I did not receive the items. They did and sent me the email that I have attached in a screenshot. It says that Lowe's is unable to confirm that I picked up the items and that I would need to speak to Lowes again to have them cancel the lease. I again contacted Lowes and spoke to manager who told me that yes, they could not confirm that I picked up the items (because I didn't!) But they were unable to cancel the lease, progressive would have to do it. 18 months later and I'm still receiving collections.i am disabledBusiness Response

Progressive leasing get the h*** out of here with this nonsense. Got a ps5 back in Feb and leased it. I 100 percent paid 350 dollars by the time. I have been paying 32 dollars a week since Feb 12 2023 and now have given you 932 dollars. The ps5 is paid for and I am not paying you any longer. Stop blowing up my phone at work and leave me alone. You will not be getting another dime out of me. You are more than paid up.Any more calls or any action on my credit report is a violation of my privacy rights. I fell behind in my payment on a account that I have. I called and kept in touch with the company, keeping them abreast of the issue I was having with my bank account and advised that as soon as I am able to make a payment I would. I called and spoke with a rep, confirmed that I had a past due balance on my account and told her that I had made a payment to my past due balance, but in spite of my applying it to a past due balance, my payment was applied to another account that I had and I asked if we could move that so that it can be applied to the correct account. She informed me they couldnt but I could set up two payments to catch my past due balance up to date, which i did. so..here i am..the amount that I had set up with the rep posted to the incorrect account again..and i am STILL LATE on the other account. I have had progressive leasing since January 2023 and I have made a total of 9 payments including my initial payment and every payment has been made since. Now today I have them telling me I am past due from April?!!. I have my bank records and all my emails from when I called in to get assistance and I’m 110% positive all my payments have been made on time. Someone in the accounting department is not doing their job and applying my payments to my account. Besides if I was that far behind wouldn’t my stuff that I have leased been taken back?!..I want my account fixed and my account reflected current. I have not received any emails stating I was past due and all I got today on a call was a “sorry for the misunderstanding”.Business Response
