An employee of this company named Dane purchased a building that had 6 tenants. Right out the gate he evicted 4 tenants rightfully so.. however me and other unit were there in 2 year leases. He was aware of that upon purchase. A few weeks into ownership we got a notice of rental increase. There is no step up clause in my lease and the notice was for a month to month tenancy which I was not. The we had our water shut off twice with out 24hour notice. Then the water heater for the entire building went out and it took 9 days for him to have someone come in and jimmy rig it. All of our maintenance requests were canceled from property management company because Dane told them to. The water heater wasn’t officially fixed until the 30th of august… so 30 whole days. He has pulled shady things with me and the other unit. There are many health and safety concerns in that building that wouldn’t be addressed or he covered up. I think if you are in business with this guy you should at least check and see if he is making your company look good. I moved due to deficient conditions and harassment. My lease wasn’t supposed to over until January 2024. I moved 9/1. It’s not ok to force a mom and her child to to move because you are angry you couldn’t increase our rent so you shut off our water. I feel like buying out my lease would have been the nice and appropriate way to handle this situation. I’d be happy to settle with half that amount to buy out my lease or even just first months rent and deposit at the place I had to move to because Dane wouldn’t keep my home habitable. I paid my rent every month and my utilities i shouldn’t have had to go without hot water for so long and endured the psychological games… don’t go buy buildings with tenants that have leases if you are gonna treat them like trash
