Thank you for reaching out.  There is no refund owed and the only money that we billed was for a service we provided.  Thank you in advance and have a great day.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 01/23/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

The service provided didn't satisfy the purpose or doesn't solve the pest problem, I called and informed to come and recheck up the pest controlled area, But the company didn't send anyone to solve the problem, So I am requesting full amount refund and NO future billing dues as i already sent a email communication to terminate the one year subscription

Re: Deceptive sales tactic for termite bait installation I am complaining about Moxie Pest Control in what I feel are deceptive sales. The salesman advised that we would get 16 to 18 termite stations for $2,000.00. He advised that I would also get an additional discount. When I inquired about the discount, he said that discount was already included. That should have been enough for me to decline the service, but the smooth talker kept going on. My spouse asked him what happens in a year. The salesman said oh they just come back out and inspect. The salesman never mentioned that we must pay a yearly $499.00 fee for the termite baits. He never informed us of how things work, even though we kept asking questions. In 2022, a different salesman came out and explained that the price is based on how many termite stations we get. In 2022, I was to get 16 termite stations for $1,600.00. After I spoke with a manager about my dissatisfaction with my termite installation, she advised that $2,000 was for installation ONLY and not for the amount of termite stations you get. Now all of a sudden the fee is for installation only and not based on the number of termite stations.....yeah right! After installation, I only received 14 termite stations. They did not secure the right side of the house in between my neighbor's house, something that I spoke with the manager about. She stated that she would send someone out to install a few more stations in the spot that I wanted. I should have been there when they arrived because they installed them in the wrong location.I feel like I was deceived, and I should have walked away from the lying salesman. They need to be upfront with their customers. Tell them the fee is for installation only. Tell them that they might need to pay a yearly fee for the termite stations. As someone who doesn't work in pest control, I have no clue how things work; that's why I expect for the salesman to be open and honest.

Moxie had a door to door representative stop by my residence in 2020. They provided me with information about the services they offer which included preventative maintenance for pest control as well as termite prevention. I signed up for the service where they serviced monthly. I also signed up for the termite service which was explained there was a charge of $499 to start then $49/month afterwards. I was charged $599 for this service and had to argue back and forth with them to get a credit to my account. The preventative services they were supposed to be providing were never provided. They arrived at my residence unannounced one time and my dogs were in the backyard so they couldnt service. They came back another time unannounced and said they sprayed the back yard but never went into my backyard, cameras verified that. Then after multiple calls, they sent someone else out, they called 5 minutes before they arrived, I rushed home from work to put ******** inside, the tech left and said he would return but never returned. After fighting with them multiple times over the phone and email I decided to end my services with them due to lack of service being provided. Now, almost 3 years later they are still claiming that I owe them over $900 because I ended my service. I was contacted today by a supervisor named ******* and she said if I didnt pay they would garnish my wages for over $1000. Im in the customer service business and have been for over 20 years and I have never received such poor service from anyone in my life. I also know that if I, or my company fails to stand behind our end of an agreement then Im not going to charge for something that wasnt completed. My resolution to this would be any remaining charges waived and we go our separate ways. Im not asking for a refund of the $700+ that Ive already been screwed out of, I just want this to be over.

July 13, ******************************************************** July for which I wasn't home and my blind husband agreed to it. When I found out i asked the representative, *********************, to send me proof of what he had found on my property. He sent me a picture of termite damage from a home in *******! When I asked again about dismissing the contract, he had already put in 16 stations (tubes that go down about 6" into the ground)-- several places in the backyard, (including the middle of the lawn) and in the front and side rocks of our yard. He said he would return in January to see if there were any termites? We paid $2,110 up front for this service and I immediately called to complain that we had been misled, **** had miscommunicated what the service was to my husband and my husband was nervous about possible damage to our house. I have pulled up the tubes several times and of course they are empty! I've called customer service several times and just found out that **** was let go and there is nothing the company can do, nor can they guarantee what a representative actually says. I would like a full refund since customer service said there is nothing they can do at this point.

I sent an email on 12/31/2023 saying I wanted no further services. I received no response to my email until I got an email receipt showing that Moxie ignored my request and billed me for services. The service is only performed once a quarter and I have not have any service and they need to refund my money for ******* in the amount of $60.64

In January 31st, a Moxie technician came to our place for a free termite inspection. He said my house had active termite activity, so we agreed to install termite traps called Sentricon. They never returned to my place to inspect if the traps were working, and it sounded strange to me. In May, I had another company visit my property and they said I didn't have termite activity and I was scammed. I called Moxie in June and they didn't solve my issue. They said it was a prevention installation, not remediation. I was not in a position to install the preventive system in my house. I installed it because the technician told us there was a termite activity. I posted a review on ****** Reviews, Moxie said they tried to call me, but I never received that call. Today I called them requesting to remove the traps, but I would like to receive a refund, at least, partially for this service.

In researching this account; customer was made aware of the contractual agreement that she signed up for.  The contract is specific to the fees and charges.  Consumer made calls to our office where the plan outlines were revisited.  At the time of the call; she stated she could not afford it.

Account # ******* Payments Made: 12/8/23 $169, 9/8/23 $169, 6/19/23 $169, 5/22/23 $89 The sales representative that knocked on my door convinced me to sign up for the pest control maintenance service was not transparent about the fees. He did not disclose that there is a quarterly charge of $169 and glossed over this agreement when I initialed/signed it on his tablet. I was not given a printed copy and I did not have a chance to review it in detail to fully understand the fee schedule. At no point in the conversation, it was made clear to me that this was quarterly charge. It was stated as a yearly service with $169 up front fee with a discount up front. I would have never agreed to pay $596 per year for pest control if it were fully disclosed. The services they have rendered thus far are worth far less than that amount. The technicians arrived after dark for the last appointment in December while we were not home and it was unclear what he was able to accomplish in the dark. They have not treated any area inside the home. I strongly feel this was a genuine case of a bait and switch tactic and they are now charging me $135 more cancelling early. I am sure they will claim they have disclosed and they have signed agreement and audio recording. That doesnt change the fact that I was pressured into signing something that I didnt need without clearly disclosing fees. I would like Moxie to refund of 50% of the fees I paid and waive the cancellation fees. Thanks for your help.

We had purchased a home in April 2023 and after moving in we had noticed that we had a severe bug problem with the home. A representative from Moxie Pest Control was working in our neighborhood and he had stopped to talk to my husband and I about their services. We had been told by the representative that their work was fully guaranteed and at any time if we were not satisfied with their services that we could cancel at any time. Never once were we ever told that it was a 1-year commitment for their services, so we decided to give them a chance and that was a huge mistake on our part. Not one of their pest applications made any difference in our bug problem and I was not at all satisfied with their work. I had posted several messages on their message board complaining that their pest applications did nothing to improve our bug problem and I was very dissatisfied with their services. Not once did I ever hear from anybody at Moxie. In addition, Moxie debited my checking account in the amount of $139.00 dollars on 6/22/2023 and again on 9/13/2023 and I never saw any technician at my home on either of those dates and I am home all day. We also have a 6ft fence around our backyard and the only gate to get in the backyard is kept locked at all times and I know I did not unlock my gate for any technician on either of those dates, which I had also complained about in a message and no one from Moxie ever contacted me about this complaint either. Moxie charged me $139.00 dollars 2 times for doing what exactly, spray the front of my home only? When I had told Moxie I did not want them to return to my home they debited my checking account in the amount of $222.40 for a cancelation fee which I did not authorize since we had been told we could cancel at any time by the Moxie representative. I started treating our home myself with bug sprays and bug bombs and I had better results from doing that than we ever did using Moxie Pest Control. I would like to have a refund.

I will review the activity.  The fee in question is reference is the early termination fee accrued via the contractual agreement between Moxie and the consumer(you).  Thank you in advance and I can direct you to the paragraph in the contract that speaks to the fees in question vs. early termination. We would love to finish our portion by continuing to service your home.  Have an amazing day.

On 7/18/23, we availed of their services, and following the completion of the initial service, we were offered a free attic inspection. The inspection on 10/12/23, however, led to an unexpected and distressing situation. The technician who conducted the inspection identified mouse droppings and, to our shock, insisted that we needed to invest over $23,000 to resolve the problem. What was particularly disconcerting was the technician's use of scare tactics during the consultation. He emphasized that the issue was imminent and could potentially pose serious health risks to my family, suggesting that the situation might be toxic and could lead to allergy problems. The technician/salesperson showed me a bunch of photos of rat droppings, which I later found out were not taken from my attics. In light of the significant financial commitment and the undue stress caused by these circumstances, we sought a second opinion from another pest control professional on 11/21/23. Contrary to the initial assessment, the second expert found the issue to be minor and assured us that it did not warrant any further action. This ***** contrast in opinions raises serious concerns about the integrity of the information provided by Moxie's technician during the initial inspection. After I lodged a formal complaint with Moxie and expressed my intention to terminate the service contract due to their unethical conduct, their customer service contacted me. They attempted to shift blame onto their sales personnel, attributing the issues to individual actions that supposedly did not represent the company. They framed fraudulent activities as mere marketing techniques. Despite my refusal to authorize termination fees, they forcefully charged my credit card an unauthorized amount of $529.34. They even removed the contract I had signed from the customer portal, making it impossible for me to access its contents.

We moved to a temporary home while our new house was being renovated, the rental was in **** ***** and we mentioned to the door to door agent that we would only be there temporarily. And again we didn't own the home but they said they could do a short term agreement with an early termination just call and let us know. When we moved to our permanent home I called in to MOXIE and let the agent know we were moving and canceling the agreement, she said she would let the Account Rep know and if there were any issues they would call me. No one called but today I did get a text that I had an outstanding balance of $309 and that they had a penalty for early termination, when I asked the account rep if I accepted this agreement, he said "if I opened the email I accepted" (oddly that is also what internet scammers do). I told him I would just contact my bank to not accept any charges and file a complaint with the BBB and he said for me to go right ahead. As I am reading all the complaints here this seems to be on par with how MOXIE is doing business.
