It was my first time going to Jiffy Lube to get my oil changed. When I pulled off and drove about a good mile and a half the car started clicking and then stopped. When I checked the oil stick, there was no oil in it. At the place I stopped the guy put oil in my car. I got information that it will cost $9000 to get a new engine. Jiffy Lube tried to tell me that there was a recall on my car anyway for the engine. I had it sent to *** and they had no recall on 2017 car engine. They did not put any oil in my car.I would like for Jiffy Lube to own up on it and take care of this problem.

Jiffy Lube employee was driving my car to test drive it with my children and myself in the car. The employee of jiffy lube crashed my car into the poll because he was talking on his cell phone while driving. My children are traumatized and jiffy lube refuses to pay for the actual cost to fix my crash car and jiffy Lube refuses to give me direct contact of corporate number to let them know that their employee put my children in danger for driving while talking on their cell phone and myself in danger. It all started when another jiffy lube employee initially didnt put the oil cap back on and I wasnt aware of it and when I got home the oil spilled all over my drive way and jiffy lube refuses to pay for the clean up on my driveway. I am the victim. They refuse to also reimburse me for my rental car expenses which is over 600 dollars. The time and this emotional toll this has done to me and have a rude claim department ***************************** and his regional director of Jiffy lube ************************* has not have any compassion and did everything in their power to make things right. Their jiffy lube employees that deal th with my car were negligent no commission that their employee crashed my car while my kids were in the car and its against the law to drive and speak on your cell phone. And now they denied my claim as if their employee didnt crash my car into a pole while driving and talking on their cell phone while my daughters and I were in the car. I am looking for my claim to be fully paid and to have my car fixed and also get my rental cost paid and also get a rental to be paid. This happened in the Jiffy Lube in Deer Park, ** and all employees that I have spoken to dont want the hire *** at corporate of Jiffy Lube know whats going on so they are protecting each other. How can a jiffy lube employee crash my car into a pole while talking on a cell phone with my children and i in the car with him and Jiffy Lube claims department is refusing to pay for the claim repairs

Brief description - On January 14th, 2022, the Jiffy Lube in ************, ** on route 14 changed the oil on my 2012 Dodge Challenger. It was not until service on October 22nd, 2022 at the Jiffy Lube in Algonquin, ** that it was noticed that the ********** Filter Housing was broken inside. At that time I was directed back to the Crystal **** location in order to discuss with them how we would go about remediating the situation. *****, the manager at the CL location, was initially helpful and tried to order a part to replace what originally was suspected to be the problem. It was not until I went to a professional mechanic that it was discovered that the entire housing would need to be replaced. The vehicle was due for an emissions test on 12/31/2022 and would not pass that test without this repair so I took it to a mechanic to repair. The cost of the repair was $872.79 which would have been completely unnecessary if it was broken by the CL Jiffy Lube to begin with. I tried to work with them directly over a couple of months where eventually I began to be ignored by not returning phone calls or answering emails. I recently wrote a review which their corporate customer ********************** responded to. They opened a case internally which eventually concluded with them saying that they would do nothing because it was outside of the 90 day, **** mile warranty. This issue would not be able to have been caught in that timeframe as their was no indications anything was wrong until months later.

Please be advised we have investigated this complaint and shared our findings in the attached letter shared with Mr. *********** The vehicle was driving 10K miles between services using conventional oil.  Also, upon seeing the service quote there is other issues with the vehicle.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 04/20/2023

I am rejecting this response because:

Regardless of the miles driven between oil changes, the component that was broken (oil filter housing), whether 10K miles or 10 miles, needed to be repaired. The failed emissions was in part because of the oil filter housing being broken and not securing the sensor appropriately inside of the housing.

There was damage done to the vehicle that, regardless of miles driven, emissions passed or failed, needed to be fixed. It was a broken component that was due to improper handling while my vehicle was in their possession to change the oil and filter.

I went to jiffy lube for an oil change and the attendant did not tighten the oil filter . All of the oil leaked out of my car, leaving me stranded. Thankfully my motor did not seize . When I reached out to the manager ***** he stated this happens all the time. The other manager called me and was very nasty and aggressive on the phone. Im the victim here. The owner has yet to reach out to me in regards to covering my expenses and time lost due to their negligence . I would like to be reimbursed for expenses accrued.

Date of transaction- 2-11-23 Jiffy Lube Claim number- ***** This is in reference to claim number *****. On February 11, 2023 I took my car to Jiffy Lube at ********* in *****, *****. I paid $97.08 for an oil change which was performed. On February 21, 2023 my car had to be towed to a local garage because it stopped on the highway. The attendant at the garage check the car out and informed me that the oil had all drained out because the Jiffy Lube mechanic failed to replace the plugs after replacing the oil. This caused the engine to go out. After contacting the business in ***** I was told they needed to do their own investigation. One month later I still have not gotten any kind of resolution. I keep being told to wait 72 hours which has now turned into weeks. Had I not reached out to them each time I would not have had any interaction with them at all. This has caused a lot of hardship for me and my children. Please give this matter the urgent need it deserves as I have been as patient as I can be.

On March 24, 2023, after receiving an oil change for my car, the oil filter cannister was not properly installed. This caused oil to be constantly sprayed all over the inside of the engine bay, drip down and cover the undercarriage of the car as well as up to the back of the trunk. There was barely any oil left in the car and I had to pay for a tow truck to return my car back to the facility to get the procedure done again. The oil change cost me $125.17. The facility was able to redo the oil change and supplied a new filter cartridge free of charge but there was so much oil remaining on my car, it was still dripping. I had to spend my time and money to clean up multiple people's driveways even days after the incident. I am seeking reimbursement for the cost of the tow truck, the cleaning of the driveways, and a complete detailing of my car's engine bay along with the undercarriage to ensure there is no longer any leftover oil and deposits from dirt collected that can possibly cause further damage. The facility for which my oil change was done is located at **************************************** ***********, **. The manager provided minimal cleaning and said they had no other way of cleaning the rest. Unacceptable. The best way to reach me is by email or phone.

On 2/20, I took my 2014 Chevrolet Cruze to Jiffy Lube to inquire if they were able to fix my window regulator. My window rolled down and not back up. They said yes, they would order the parts and let me know when they were in. On 2/22/23, they told me to bring my car in and gave me an estimate of one hour to fix it. Three hours later, I called and they said to check back on 2/23/23. When my car was ready, my partner walked to pick up my car. They told him in the shop that they repaired the window, but had broken the driver's side door in the process so it did not open from the inside or outside. They told my partner that they were "incapable of fixing the problem" and advised us to take it to a Chevrolet dealership. They told him that when Chevrolet had an invoice to send to them, and they would pay for the damages. I took my vehicle to Chevrolet Hessert. The total cost was $2,098.81 before taxes. I sent the invoice to Jiffy Lube immediately. Chevrolet finished working on the car on 3/8/23. I followed up every day with both Jiffy Lube and Chevrolet every day. Jiffy Lube has not yet paid for the damages, and Chevrolet will not return my car until it is paid. I have been without a vehicle for about three weeks. This has caused an undue financial burden as I've had to miss work and utilize ride shares. I have called Jiffy Lube constantly to determine next steps, at a local and customer service level. They promised I would speak to a claims representative on 3/10/23 and 3/13/23 and I never have. I was told my request was backed up with no further details. I would like for Jiffy Lube to pay for the damages they caused to my vehicle immediately, and reimburse me for lost wages and ride share costs.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

The company followed up through a claims representative and did not take responsibility for the damages to my vehicle after breaking my door and inconveniencing me without a vehicle for a month. Jiffy Lube owes me $1,400 in damages and additional costs for lost wages and ride share costs. I should not pay costs out of pocket when I followed the Jiffy Lube's instructions explicitly and they did not reciprocate with adequate communication.

10/3/2022 had Signature Service full synthetic oil change on '09 Honda vehicle at 78,942 mileage. Service advertises "FREE Top-Off Policy" on poster in store as well as on "Jiffy Lube Pledge of Satisfaction *FREE Top-Off Policy" statement printed on back of invoice #********* received. At time of service selection, was told "within 3000 miles fluid & oil top offs are free".

3/7/2023 returned to same location at 81,288 mileage requesting free top off service and presented invoice receipt. Was told "unable to top off free as past 2,000 mile mark and close to 3000 mile mark, at the oil change required interval".

I advised I was told "within 3000 mile fluid & oil top offs are free and as stated on top off policy on back page, between service visits up to 3000 miles."

      Nature of dispute:
-"free top offs" should have been performed while having run mileage at 2346 (still under the 3000 miles).
-Jiffy Lube advertised services and policy pledge should be changed to read:
FREE Top-Off up to 2000 miles.
Stating verbally to customer and in print that it applies to "between service visits up to 3000 miles" is simply false advertising!

I took my vehicle to jiffy lube for a routine oil change a few weeks ago. Upon completion I drive out of the bay. The vehicle started stuttering almost immediately. I drove home expecting the stuttering to eventually stop. Once I got home I decided to check my oil level just in case. The oil was overfilled. I knew that this wasn't the cause of the stuttering but it helped me come to the realization that they had drained my transmission fluid instead of my oil. I contacted the store the following day and they refilled my transmission fluid and did another oil change. Unfortunately the damage had already been done. My transmission had been ran dry and my engine was foaming with oil for around 100 miles before they fixed their mistake. I've since tried to contact corporate and customer care. They assigned a specialist to my case but they are very slow to act on my case. My vehicle hasn't been taken to a mechanic for an estimate and I haven't received and compensation for their mistake. I have no vehicle to get me to work and they are not willing to provide me with a rental. Their mistake is costing me my livelihood and they aren't even doing anything to fix it.

Below please find a description of what happened as well as the names and numbers of those at Breakpoint Auto who said that no one has been in touch with them!! They gave us written documentation."We have been in touch with the Jiffy Lube "claims" department for 3 months. We took our Jeep Wrangler into your ******** location on ************** FOR AN OIL CHANGE. The two guys DID NOT DRAIN the old oil. My son was driving it on the highway and it completely broke down. He could have BEEN KILLED!! We took it into our normal garage, Breakpoint Auto, and they said that Jiffy Lube did not drain the old oil - it completely ruined our new engine. They will testify to that. We paid $9000 for a new engine and didn't have use of the car for over a month. Also - during the Jiffy Lube appt., the two guys working on it went out to get high in the middle of the service. My 18 year old son was just left sitting there waiting. We have heard that there is video of this! I have called and talked with ********************* *************) at least 10 times since December. I HAVE ALL OF THE DATES AND TIMES! She has ALL of the information. She was Rude and Unhelpful. I asked for her manager and she told me his name was ***** and that he would be in touch....HA! That was over a week ago. Instead of ***** calling, I got an email that day telling us the claim was denied. I have documented EVERYTHING. Clearly NO research was done on the claim!! We are so upset and don't want to have to bring our attorney into this or make an even bigger deal of it! We will if it is necessary though. I can submit a copy of the itemized bill from Break Point that also has EXACTLY what they had to do itemized on the form. Jiffy Lube also has a copy of that. Clearly they did not look at this claim and did not see that either Break Point *************- Owner *****- Manager ************

      Business Response

This claim was reviewed and denied for the following reasons:

The inspection performed concluded that the oil level was full upon arrival and there were no supporting factors that indicated the vehicle was overfilled during the Jiffy Lube service. The investigation concluded there is no evidence to suggest that the current vehicle mechanical failures were caused by the Jiffy Lube service on 12/15/2022.
