I brought my Asus All-In-One computer to Microcache Computer at 1424 E. Main Street, League City on 11/24/23 to fix the power button. Mr. Don *** said he could replace the power board or he could leave a hole after removing the power button. He said and wrote on an invoice that repairing the power button and doing a tune-up would cost $100. I agreed to that. Also he offered me the following additional options: installing a solid state disc driv and adding stick of ram. Later when he called to verify the repair he said a stick of ram would cost $40. I asked if it would speed up my computer; he said a little. I told him to add it. Later when I checked the ram on my computer I found 8 ram. My original receipt for my Asus indicated 8 ram. I emailed Mr. *** to ask him the name of the manufacturer of the stick of ram and the amount of ram. When I did not get an email reply, I left a message on his phone; I never heard from him. When I I called him on 11/27, I left a phone message requesting an email response. Later when he called me with the name and amount of ram (4), I noted that I should have 12 ram if he added 4 ram to the original 8 ram. He said he didn't check and that it must have been incompatible. He then offered to put in a stick of ram. Then he said that he would have to spend too much time and that he would give me back $30. I reminded him it was $40. Tuesday when Carol and I went to his shop, Mr. *** approached me with $40 cash. I showed him the email I sent him, the original receipt for my Asus, and a copy of the canceled check for $152.62 for repairing the button, the tune-up, and a stick of 4 ram. Also I pointed out he calculated the 8.25% tax incorrectly: over by $1.07. Also that I paid $3.30 tax on the $40 stick of ram. Then he gave me $45. Since I can't trust Mr. *** w/my computer any more I am asking BBB to have him pay me another $50. My IT friend said Mr. *** could have merely popped off the power button w/o adding ram.
