Dear [Self Customer Support/Loan Servicing Team],I am writing to express my concern regarding the recent payment I made to pay off my Self loan in full using my debit card. I have used this method successfully in the past, and at that time, the process was completed without delay.However, I was recently informed that it will now take up to three weeks for my funds to be released. I respectfully request that this process be expedited. These funds were saved for a specific and time-sensitive purpose, and I am unable to wait the full three weeks.I have fulfilled my obligation by paying in full, and I kindly ask that you release the funds as soon as possible or provide a clear explanation for the delay and what steps I can take to speed up the process.Thank you for your attention to this matter. Pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1681b - Permissible Purposes of Consumer Reports, any information reported on my consumer report requires explicit written consent. At no time did I provide such consent, and reporting this information without my authorization is a clear act of fraud. Under 15 U.S. Code 1681a(2)(B) - Exclusions from a Consumer Report, any credit transaction that involves the use of a Social Security card is required to be excluded from a consumer credit report. On Saturday May 31, 2025 my car was broken into and my Self Credit card was stolen. We did not notice it was gone until the morning of the 31st. We filed a police report (attached) documenting the theft and included the corresponding fraudulent charges. I called Self that morning to report the card missing but was told that since it was the weekend no one was available to report the fraud, but the card was blocked. On Monday June 2nd I called and reported the fraud and on June 3rd the fraudulent charges were removed. But, on Friday June 13, 2025, the fraudulent charges re-appeared. When I called in they stated that my fraud dispute was declined because the fraudulent charges were consistent with a pattern of past charges and that since I was on the app monitoring if the card was used again that I falsely reported the card stolen. This could not be further from the truth. In fact, the there was an attempt at a charge later in evening well after I reported the card stolen and it was blocked. I called Self on June 13 to find all of this out and to resubmit the dispute. I was never informed that there was an issue with the initial dispute either by email, in the app, orby physical mail. In fact, I only received an email today (attached) documenting the denial of the initial dispute, this seem like a CYA email as they never sent the original. Also, not only did they re-instate the disputed charges, but they put in one charge twice so the debt owed to them is higher than it should be. I was diligent in all of my reporting of the theft and checking the app to make sure the block was in place, and the false claim that I was using the card myself is wrong and insulting. I am sure the app geolocates where I was when the app was accessed and that would be my next step to access that data as well as any camera footage of where the and when the card was used.Business Response

Hi, I have had self for over 2 years and closed my account back in Oct 28th 2024 by utilizing my credit builder savings for ***** as I spoke with a *** and they mentioned that was all that was needed to close my account. Apparently that was incorrect as I then received interest in Novemeber and a late fee in December. I did not notice this until January when I randomly logged into my account old account and noticed their was a small balance. I paid the small balance of $40 that it showed and thought I put it to rest. No, I did not as there have been now 5 more late payments tacked on to the account and shows that I have a balance of $159.45 and has been negatively impacting my credit, the complete opposite of what "Self" is supposed to do. I have not used that card since June 29th, 2024, everything in that balance is fees. I need help getting this resolved ASAP. I spoke to a ***resentative on the phone today and explained the entire situation and they were unwilling to help. I then asked to speak to a manager, and was put on hold for over an hour and then phone was hung up, they completely wasted my time and never jumped on the line. This to me is very disrespectful. I am not asking for a lot, just for the fees on my account to be removed so that I can be done with this and to get the late payments removed from my credit. I made a payment of $768.94 on 6/5/25. I had made a large payment with the impression based off the information provided that I would receive my money back in a timely manner and had no idea it would take up to 3 weeks. I paid $1056.94 and they claim only $1006.44."If you chose to get your payout by check, it could take about 3 weeks to get your money, but direct deposit may take less time.
