I'm submitting this formal complaint because SELFINC/LEAD is reporting an account on my credit fileAccount Number: *********, opened on 03/01/2021with a balance of $615.00 that I do not recognize, authorize, or owe. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter directly with both the credit bureaus and SELFINC, I have not received any documentation that proves this account belongs to me or that it has been reported accurately. The presence of this account on my report has had serious consequences for my credit score and overall financial well-being.Under 15 U.S.C. 1681i(a)(1)(A) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), I am entitled to a reasonable reinvestigation of any disputed information on my credit report. However, to date, there has been no proper investigation conducted, and I have not been presented with any credible documentationsuch as a signed contract, payment history, or account summaryto support the legitimacy of this alleged debt. According to 15 U.S.C. 1681i(a)(5), if the information cannot be verified, it must be deleted from my credit file. This legal requirement has been completely ignored.Additionally, this situation may also violate 15 U.S.C. 1692g of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which states that upon dispute, debt collectors and furnishers of credit information must cease collection and reporting until verification of the debt is provided. I was a previous customer that closed my account with no issues . I tried to reopen my account and was told my info could not be verified and given impression I was trying to commit fraud . I verified my Chex system info Is correct and there is no freeze in place. I also verified my credit report info is correct with no freeze. The company does not do as promised, I had a year and a half of ontime payments and my credit was never reflected for that. I signed up for nothing due to false advertising. This company is a rip off and steals. I had enough money to cover the account and they took $259 from credit builder account kept $100 and sent $117 back making me think everything was paid off. completed two Credit Builder loans with Self Financial, one closed in October 2022 (paid via direct deposit) and the other in December 2021 (paid via mailed check). I never received either payout and am owed approximately $1,375.I also had a Self **** secured credit card, which they closed without notice. Even after closing the account, they continued to charge interest and late fees, ultimately reporting a charge-off balance of $300.46 despite holding a $1,075 security deposit.Self reported multiple negative tradelines to credit bureaus, including a third entry called SELF FINANCIAL / LEAD BA that says Paid, Closed but also falsely reports 30- and 60-day delinquencies.I have contacted Self Financial numerous times since 2023, and they have failed to resolve the issues, reissue my payouts, or correct their reporting.
