      Hi, I have had self for over 2 years and closed my account back in Oct 28th 2024 by utilizing my credit builder savings for ***** as I spoke with a *** and they mentioned that was all that was needed to close my account. Apparently that was incorrect as I then received interest in Novemeber and a late fee in December. I did not notice this until January when I randomly logged into my account old account and noticed their was a small balance. I paid the small balance of $40 that it showed and thought I put it to rest. No, I did not as there have been now 5 more late payments tacked on to the account and shows that I have a balance of $159.45 and has been negatively impacting my credit, the complete opposite of what "Self" is supposed to do. I have not used that card since June 29th, 2024, everything in that balance is fees. I need help getting this resolved ASAP. I spoke to a ***resentative on the phone today and explained the entire situation and they were unwilling to help. I then asked to speak to a manager, and was put on hold for over an hour and then phone was hung up, they completely wasted my time and never jumped on the line. This to me is very disrespectful. I am not asking for a lot, just for the fees on my account to be removed so that I can be done with this and to get the late payments removed from my credit.       I believe this account has been assigned to me in error, as I am not liable for the debt in question.I have no contractual obligation with SBNASELFLNDR and have never received any documentation to substantiate the validity of this debt, despite my formal requests for verification. I specifically asked to review the original application or contract related to this alleged debt. Since SBNASELFLNDR has been unable to provide this documentation, I assert that the debt is not mine and should not be associated with my records.I kindly request the removal of this erroneous collection from my account and an acknowledgment of this resolution in writing.       COLLECTION AGENCY is violating the Customer Name, they removed it from one bureau and did not removed it from rest of the bureaus.

      I made a payment of $768.94 on 6/5/25. I had made a large payment with the impression based off the information provided that I would receive my money back in a timely manner and had no idea it would take up to 3 weeks. I paid $1056.94 and they claim only $1006.44."If you chose to get your payout by check, it could take about 3 weeks to get your money, but direct deposit may take less time. If you havent completed or closed your account yet, switch to direct deposit to get your money sooner." ************************************************************************************************************ "Once you finish your account, it takes up to 3 weeks for your money to arrive, depending on the payout method you chose." Below is more about the payout options. I had searched several articles to ensure I was making a good decision. What are my Self payout options?There are two ways to receive a payout from your Self Credit Builder Account:Direct deposit to your bank account.Paper check in the *********** deposit is usually the fastest way to get your money.Heres what to know about both options.Payout by direct deposit If you want your money directly deposited into your bank account, set up your bank account information as soon as possible after you open your Credit Builder Account.Connecting your bank account early in your loan helps avoid confusion and delays as you near the end of the loan term. Double check that you entered your bank account correctly to avoid any issues with payments.Another reason to connect your bank account early is that once your Credit Builder Account closes, it may be too late to add a bank account and choose direct deposit, depending on your banks processing times.Payout by paper check If connecting a bank account and using direct deposit isnt an option or you just dont want to do that, we will mail you a paper check.Note: paper checks may take up to three weeks to arrive by *****************.

      I am filing a complaint regarding incorrect and unauthorized information reported under SELFINC/LEAD. The details are as follows:Account: ***********************/LEAD 22966*Date of Account Reported: 12/25/2020 This account was not authorized and is negatively impacting my credit. I strongly believe this account is a result of the ************ Breach in 2017. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue, no action has been taken.I request the permanent removal of this inaccurate entry from my credit report. Failure to address this issue will leave me with no choice but to take further actions.

      I had a credit builder account with them that closed on 5-9-23. It was a secured card that I had built up to $700. After it ended I kept using the $25 automatic payment every month. For example the payment would come out on the 8th dropping my balance to $675 and then Id use that $25 that month and it would repeat. Then I was getting emails saying I shouldve gotten my new card and to activate it. I never received a new card. I kept using the one I had until it expired. I tried contacting them about it and could never get ahold of anyone and the automated message online said to call them. Since I couldnt use my card anymore and couldnt get through to anyone I shut off the automatic payment. Then apparently it was a problem. I kept getting emails stating my payment was late. I emailed back and said to cancel the account. I explained to them I never received the card they were referring to and didnt know what they were talking about because how can my payment be late when its a secured card? They said I was still responsible for the payment even if I didnt receive or use the card. I basically told them they were nuts. Then they reported it to the ************* and denied doing it! Then on May 27, 2025 they called my phone 14 times in a 3 hour period! When I called them back demanding to know what company it was (I already knew) they kept trying to read a script and talk over me. When that didnt work they hung up on me. I called back; same thing. The 3rd time I called it said the number was no longer in service. Now they are back to sending emails about my past due balance. I would like for any mention of them taken off my credit report and I believe I deserve to be compensated due to the harassment I received from that company.

      I closed both my accounts over 5 weeks ago. They state in email and on their website that it takes 3 weeks or less to receive your security deposit back. Its been 5 weeks and i have yet to receive my money back. They are lying to customers and saying 3 weeks but now they are changing it to 90 days and cant give a reason why. They refuse to answer my question of why they lie and tell customers 3 weeks.

      I closed my account with your company. You guys told me after an account is closed a payout will go out in 3 weeks or less. It’s been 8 weeks and you guys still have my money. Your answer is unacceptable because you owe me money. You are scamming customers for money and your response is ridiculous. You owe me my $711 back and instead of giving me my money you keep stalling.

      I am filing this formal complaint against Self Financial, Inc. regarding a fraudulent account they are reporting to the credit bureaus under my name, despite my having provided proof that I am a victim of identity theft.A Self Financial Credit Builder account (Account #*********** was opened fraudulently on November 23, 2020, with an alleged balance of $724. I have never opened or authorized this account. After learning about this item appearing on my credit report, I immediately submitted the following:FTC ************************************issued ID Proof of address Bank statements Despite receiving all documentation, Self Financial has refused to delete the account and continues to claim the account is valid based on unverifiable internal data such as public records or associated addresses. They have provided no actual evidence, such as:IP address or device used to open the account Geolocation metadata Login or browser fingerprint data Payment method proof (card used, bank account info)Signature certificate or timestamp logs of agreement Their refusal to honor my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) 605B is both unethical and illegal. The **** gives identity theft victims the right to have fraudulent accounts blocked and removed once sufficient documentation is provided which I have submitted multiple ******** demand is simple:? Immediate removal of this fraudulent account from all credit bureaus ? Written confirmation of deletion from Self Financial ? Cease any and all reporting or internal claims that I authorized this account *********************** continued reporting of this item violates FCRA 1681s-2(b) and disregards my legal rights. Their lack of transparency during this investigation, refusal to provide evidence, and unwillingness to remove the account after multiple disputes is unacceptable.I am requesting BBB assistance to help resolve this issue immediately before I pursue further legal action.
