Received fines from McKinley on 8/17 (violation XXXXXXXXX) and on 8/3 (violation XXXXXXXXX). When entering in plate #, there was a typo. It was since corrected but during visit never received a text "receipt" as they claim will occur. The profile has always had an accurate phone number and credit card on file and the plate has since been corrected.
I have vociferously informed them that I am not trying to avoid paying the parking fee. In their records they can see that I have paid prior to and after these fines! I am just asking for fairness. They seem to think there is no way an error could ever be made on their part.
Also, the BBB should be stepping in to prevent charges 7X the original parking fare.Business Response

On 7/2/22, 7/9/22 and 7/23/22, my car was parked in a lot in Nashville run by McKinley Payments. The parking payment is app based. The app was installed but on initial registration for the account two letters were transposed on my license plate. After parking there 3 times I received 3 violation letters which included $20,$30 and $20 for parking fees that were not charged to my account because of my typo on the app. Along with each letter was a ticket fine of $70.25. I contacted the business via the email address that they provided and explained the situation. I let them know that I would gladly pay them the $70 for parking but requested that they waive $210.75. They ask me to send them a screen shot the corrected registration on the app, which I did. They told me that my dispute was denied and will only respond with an automated message. I have reached out the them via email several more times in an effort to resolve this issue and pay them the $70 that is owed. They have only responded with automated messages telling me that my dispute is denied. I would like them to contact me and let me know how I can pay the $70 that I owe them and documentation waiving the $210.75 in fines.Business Response

I have had an account with Metropolis going back to December of 2021
On 08/20/2022 I entered their parking lot known as the Ragland Lot at 314 3rd Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37201. I did not get a notification on my phone. I emailed them about the problem and brought it to their attention. I exited their parking lot later that evening and again, did not get posting on my phone that they recognized my leaving. I emailed them again bringing their attention to the issue and noted they did not post a notice to my phone upon leaving.
There were several emails back and forth where I brought it to their attention the system had failed upon entry and upone exit and gave them ample opportunity to charge my account. Evidently, they never charged my account. I do not monitor that particular checking account as my bookkeeper handles it.
On 09/15/2022 I was made aware that they never charged my account when they sent me a Ticket Fine noting I owed them $45 for the parking and another $70 for the fine. I objected and files a ticket dispute and they refused to remove the fine. I told them I would not pay the fine. That I was the one that brought the problem to their attention and they had ample time to charge me the $45 parking fee and evidently chose not to.Business Response

Per an email from Metropolis Help referring back to the original email I sent them asking for help on the violation. They sent me a response on 10/05/2022 from ********, a Metropolis Support Manager, they reached out to the violations department (evidently McKinley Payments) and had violation number 413-999-237 waived with no further action required.(pdf of email attached) As long as they honor this, I have no further problems with them. Thank you for your help.Initial Complaint

I have received two parking violations from the company. They do not have a pay kiosk but rather you scan the app and pay. In both scenarios, I scanned the app and was never given the opportunity to pay. I tried multiple times and even had staff from the establishments I as visiting assist with no success. After this happened a second time (August 17, 2022), I immediately sent an email to the help email located on their website (see attached). The automatic generated note stated that I could close the visit myself which would have been ok if the visit was registered. I could never get the website to recognize my visit in the parking garage.
In both situations, I received a $70.25 fine which is 11 times the amount the parking cost ($6.00). This is ridiculous and a scam. I think their technology is intentionally not working and it's a way to make money off of people. I'm a pretty technologically savvy individual and I can't get it to work. Unfortunately, in the Metro Nashville areas, this company is taking over lots and there is no recourse for the consumer. You can't reach a human to talk and when I tried to dispute my case via email, I received a generic email that said it was denied.
I'm ok if I have to pay a small fee but this company is ripping people off. Something has got to be done about this.Business Response

I went to a dentist appointment in Nashville on 2nd avenue. When I parked, I did not realize I had to stop and pay because the gate was open. I Have no problem paying for parking, I do often. I received a bill and fine. The parking was $6 as I was there for about an hour. My fee is listed as $70. This is obsurd. I emailed the company and have not heard back yet. This is more than 10x the parking amount.Business Response

This complaint is about company Premier parking (Metropolis). This company is conducting fraudulent and unfair business against consumers. On 08/24/2022 I parked my wife's ******** ****** car in the parking lot located on 118 Church Ave SE, Roanoke,VA24011. I paid for a parking with my credit card and for payment I used one of the machines on the parking lot, since their online payment system didn't work. I displayed my payment receipt on the front windshield of the car. Almost month later I received parking ticket for $78,25. Metropolis is claiming that I didn't pay for a parking. I provided company with a proof of payment - transaction from my credit card. Metropolis asking to provide parking payment receipt which obviously I don't have since I am not keeping paper parking receipts and as I mentioned before payment was'nt made online (in that case I would have electronical receipt). Consumers should not be penalized for non existing violations, because of companie's system or service issues. It is not my or any other consumer's responsibility that Premier parking or Metropolis are not capable fairly manage their business. I provided Metropolis with proof of payment, but they are not willing to dismiss this false violation ticket. I cosidering this act of company unfair and fraudulent. Based on my research online, this company systematicaly conducting this type of unfair business not only in Roanoke,VA and Virginia, but also in other States. You can find significiant amount of consumers who was penalized from Metropolis or Premier parking unfairly in the same way I am now. I really hope for a proper action against Metropolis and Premier parking for their unfair and fraudulent activities. I am adding all the documention which supporting my complaint - email conversations with Metropolis representatives and my violation tiket, as well my payment for a parking. I will pay in meantime Metropolis requested fine in $78.25, since my dispute is closed (denied) now.Business Response

I am satisfied that company finally dismissed the violation ticket, however it does not justify wrong doing of company in general. It is not acceptable that company did not dismiss violation ticket in dispute process. It is not acceptable that outside institutions should be involved to resolve dispute in straight forward dispute. The opened question is unfair business practice against consumers from company.Initial Complaint

I received a notice of a parking ticket for $100.25. On the date of August 13, 2022. This car is in my name and my daughter's name. My daughter drives this car to work at the ***** ***** where this alleged parking violation occurred. She works there she gets parking. I have tried numerous ways to try and contact these people to no avail. She has been parking there for six months and all of a sudden she got a ticket one day. This is where she works this is where she parks. We will not be paying this ticket. And the ***** ***** will also be filing a complaintBusiness Response

I was in this garage twice this day. The qr code system is new. On one occasion the qr scanning went fine and I entered a credit card number. On what was apparently the occasion of the "violation" I spent a couple of minutes with the qr code and it wouldn't take me to a URL. I need to be in the hotel to moderate a panel and assumed you already had the credit card to match my license plate and this was normal behavior or at worst a malfunction about which I would not be penalized. More than happy to pay the parking charge, but not the "violation charge".
This "appeal" was denied without comment.Business Response

9/2/22 parked at 400 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN. 37219. Scanned QR code to pay for parking. It wouldn't take 2 different cards. After several attempts, we left. Checked both cards over the following days and was charged $3.49. Received a parking ticket in the mail on Fri Sep 23 for $25 parking plus $70.25 ticket fine for a total of $95.25. This is robbery at best! We tried to pay; however there are no attendants at the garage, no phone number to call to resolve this. I disputed the charge and received an email that I needed to provide receipt documentation from "their website", which I did. The only thing I have heard since is two emails asking for this same documentation. Maybe people should not park anywhere in these structures. Why on earth does the city contract this work out to such a poorly run company?Business Response

The ticket was finally waived. The business stated that the license plate entered did not match; however, they were including the letters afterward (UT) which indicate the type of plate it is- not part of the actual number.

I have tried to contest the violation but have not been able to contact the company.
I was fined and charged and astronomical fee for pulling into the parking lot while lost and looking for a nearby address. I spent 6 minutes in the lot, never left my car trying to find my way since I am not from Nashville. There were no warning signs that stated simply pulling into the lot would trigger a parking ticket. Again, I was lost, pulled into the lot to reset my navigation and when I pulled out 6 minutes later, I was then fined $78.25 for never parking in an actual space. I am asking the company to waive the ridiculous fees and parking fee since I was not parked in their lot.
