1 starThe Dollar General in Appleton WI on Wisconsin ave. The employees don't care myself as well as 6 other customers where standing in line to be checked out ringing the bell as well and neither one of the employees working came up to the register. They was walking around in there phones with headphones on. That is disrespectful and if they don't like there job then they need to quit.Dollar General

1 starAt the DOLLAR GENERAL In purchased a ***** ****** plastic pitcher, when I filled it with tea put it in my fridge it leaked the tea out onto my fridge…big mess. The pitcher is DEFECTIVE it has a a crack in it!
I’m a a 78 year old Senior who lives within 2 miles of this store. As a customer I shop in the store 2 or more times a week.On Saturday July 12, I took the pitcher back to DOLLAR GENERAL to get a replacement pitcher. The cashier ask me if I had my receipt, I said no I didn’t keep it, she said she would need to get a manager, ******** ***** came to the cash register… she said very loudly that I had to have a receipt! I tried to explain the pitcher was defective… that I wanted a replacement. When I ask her if I could speak to her superior she said NO that her manager was on VACATION & could not be bothered!
******** ***** involved a customer in line in the discussion …he shouted at me Don’t you understand you need a receipt…******** ***** was very rude & not professional she does not have the training or experience to deal with valid customer complaints.
Trying to embarrass me in front of 4 or 5 customers she told me I could come back at 1 pm when the next manager came on duty & the manager would tell me the same thing!!
Is this the Best person to put in a manager position with Dollar General?Dollar General

1 starYesterday I shopped at Dollar General in Phillipsburg, KS - just like I do every Saturday to get my $5 off my over $25 purchase. For the third time I had this young man as cashier, who is rude, unfriendly and just plainly obnoxious. When he gave me the total, I said I still wanted to enter my phone number for the digital coupon and he said can't do it. I insisted that he could go back a few steps, which he reluctantly did and told me to press the red x - when I actually was able to enter it. I eventually got my $5 discount. Previous two incidents involved the paper coupons, which I had multiples of. He would type in the number, said it doesn't work, gave him a second and a third and according to him it didn't work. At these two incidents I left without my discount. This is now the 3rd time in a row that I have had a run in with him and many other customers have also complained about his attitude. Unfortunately I do not have his name, but my transaction was done yesterday 7/12/2025 at 3:46pm, transaction ***** at store 3203 - the receipt shows ******* as cashier, but she was working between the shelves.
Also, while he was assisting me, a lady came to ask for the key to the bathroom - he fiddled here and there and then told her he can't find it. She eventually left to go to ******* next door. Appalling customer service!Dollar General

1 starThe manager at 8707 st Charles rock road 63114 was extremely rude and unprofessional on 06/09/2025 around 6:30 pm CST. I picked up an item and put it back where I got it from assuming it was the correct location. The manager stated that I was rude and inconsiderate for not putting it back where it actually belongs. I tried to inform her that I placed it back exactly where I retrieved it, but she got defensive and didn't want to hear my response. I was banned from the store without a legitimate reason and have contacted corporate numerous times, but to no avail. It appears as if the company condones unprofessional and rude behavior from their employees and don't take customer complaints seriously at all. A few representatives have stated that I will receive a call the following day for my opinion, but once again to no avail. If you value mutual respect and a bit of customer service do NOT spend your hard earned money at that particular location. I will also state that a couple of customers informed me that the store manager claimed that I was stealing candy which is defamation of character and the main reason why I contacted corporate. They have lost a valuable customer and I have informed others to cease shopping at that particular location. Corporate should always respond to a customer complaint instead of being in agreement with how a manager behaves and speaks down to a customer. I really wanted to give zero stars to this company for the lack of empathy and belligerent behavior of a particular managerDollar General

1 starDollar General sells money cards you pay cash for. The employee will act like they activated it. Then when you try to use it you find the card is no good. The cashier pockets the money and you can not do anything. Go back to the store and they tell you no refunds you are out of luck. This happen in the Imboden Ar store and the cashier was ****** got $250.00 that day.Dollar General

1 starZero stars this store is the dirtiest dg I've seen can never get threw the ailias and the red headed girl and the store manager **** cuss at customers smoke right at the entrance,with their group of friends cussing smoking smell like weed and they also have been seen buying stuff off of people like drugs . But I think the worse is them cussing at the customers when there are kids around and smoking right there u go to walk in u smell like smoke and hear cussing .. the absolute worse dg they need to get all new employees I think there is 1 young girl that is kinda nice but she cusses to .. and they won't help if u ask they say we dk.. if the line is long they are still smoking... 1 starI made a online order with dollar general an they took my money and never delivered my food. I have kids to feed an they took my last bit of money. They said they don't have an option to cancel or give me my money back or resolve the issue. This is not right.
