On 09/22nd I purchased a one time offer to edit a PDF from the website PDFSimpli. Three days later they charged me $49.95. I did not sign up for the subscription, nor was it clearly stated anywhere that I'd be charged. Reputable businesses send reminders before they charge you, in case you signed up accidentally or changed your mind. This business did no such thing. I wish I had googled them before I'd spent the original $1.45 because there are numerous accounts from people they've scammed on the internet. Not to mention that the document wasn't even edited correctly.I tried to request a refund and to cancel my subscription but I can't login to the site. I tried to reset my password several times. They send me an email telling me to follow a link to reset my password, but there is no such link in the email.

Dear REMOVED,
We understand your concerns; however, your statement that you did not sign up for a subscription is not consistent with the terms of the offer you accepted. The trial terms clearly explain that the trial converts to a recurring subscription unless canceled, and these terms are presented during the signup process and must be accepted before payment is completed. The same information is also provided in the confirmation email sent after signup, giving customers an additional opportunity to review the subscription and billing details.
The absence of a separate pre-renewal reminder does not make the charge unauthorized or indicate that the terms were not disclosed. The subscription terms provide the applicable renewal information at the time of enrollment, and a confirmation email is sent immediately after signup.
Regarding your statement that the service was not reputable because other customers have posted complaints online, the existence of negative reviews does not establish that the subscription terms were hidden or that the charge was unauthorized. Likewise, your decision not to use the service or your dissatisfaction with the result does not change the billing terms associated with the subscription.
If your document was not edited correctly, our technical support team is available to assist with the issue through chat, email, WhatsApp, or phone. This is separate from the subscription terms and does not prevent you from contacting us for assistance.
Finally, being unable to log into your account does not prevent you from contacting our support team regarding cancellation, billing, or refund inquiries. We provide multiple support channels specifically for this purpose, including chat, email, WhatsApp, and phone support.
We are always willing to assist with legitimate technical or billing concerns, but we cannot characterize a disclosed trial subscription and its subsequent renewal as an unauthorized charge simply because the customer did not read or recall the terms presented at signup.

This company charged me $1.95 last year 9/28/2025 to upload a pdf. Since then they have been charging my credit card REMOVEDevery single month (twice in march 2026) without me knowing anything about this. I have received no messages from this company ever. This is a huge scam. I was shocked when I saw this charge from this company in my statement this month and had to research what exactly was going on.

Dear REMOVED,
We understand your concern regarding the charges referenced in your complaint. However, the description provided does not accurately reflect how the PDFSimpli subscription works.
The $1.95 payment made on September 28, 2025 was associated with the initial subscription/trial enrollment. At the time of registration, the subscription terms, including the recurring renewal charge of $49.95 every four weeks following the trial period unless canceled, are presented before the transaction is completed. An account confirmation email and receipt are also sent to the email address provided during registration.
The subsequent $49.95 charges were therefore not unauthorized charges initiated without a subscription. They resulted from the recurring subscription remaining active. The fact that the charges appeared on a credit card statement does not, by itself, indicate that the charges were fraudulent or that a subscription was not established.
Regarding the statement that no communications were received, our records show that account-related communications are sent to the email address associated with the account. We would be happy to review the specific account and billing history further. Please contact our support team at REMOVEDand provide the email address associated with the account or the account information shown on your original confirmation so that we can locate the correct account and address any remaining concerns.
Sincerely,
PDFSimpli

I am rejecting this response because:Not one single email was ever sent to me about this- the email associated with my account as it was sent to you is REMOVEDhowever my email which is linked to that shows no emails from your company.
You know exactly what youre doing- youre using underhanded schemes to get people to sign up for some bogus 50 bucks a month plan they never intended to and then never sending any messages because you know as soon as they find out they would cancel such a senseless transaction. Give me my money back - you took 50 bucks a month for one year from me for this nonsense - or else I will file a class action lawsuit and make you return all the money you stole from God knows how many other unsuspecting victims!
Sincerely,
REMOVED

Date: 10/05/2026
Dear REMOVED,
We understand that you dispute the charges; however, your statement that you received no communication from PDFSimpli is inconsistent with our records. A payment receipt was sent to the email address associated with your account on the date the subscription was initiated. Additionally, the subscription was established after you accepted the terms and conditions presented during the registration and payment process.
Our records also show that five refunds/credits have already been issued in connection with your account. We have made repeated accommodations toward resolving your concerns, and the refunds already provided represent the maximum resolution we are able to offer in this matter. We have no basis to issue additional refunds for the remaining charges.
We also respectfully disagree with the characterization that PDFSimpli intentionally uses underhanded schemes or attempts to conceal subscription terms. Such allegations do not change the documented account history, including the acceptance of the applicable terms, the payment receipt issued at signup, and the refunds already provided.
We cannot prevent you from pursuing any course of action you believe is appropriate. However, we expect any further allegations regarding our practices to be based on the documented facts of the account rather than assumptions regarding our intentions. Customers are responsible for reviewing the terms presented at the time of enrollment and for managing their subscriptions accordingly.
At this point, we have addressed the matter extensively and provided five refunds/credits as a resolution. We consider this matter resolved and have no further refund to offer.
Sincerely,
PDFSimpli

I am rejecting this response because:Those refunds were made to me by REMOVEDfraud team not by your company. 4 payments total one on Sept 15 and 3 on Sept 16 each for REMOVED. Then I see one refund only perhaps made by your company on Sept 24 for REMOVED. What about the other 7 payments of REMOVEDyou took from me?
Your terms and conditions claim is nonsense as you very well know they are are deceptive because they use lengthy and difficult language with hidden fees involved - that myself and hundreds of other people on BBB have complained about. If you sent me emails about being billed REMOVEDmy email history about this. Otherwise you are in clear violation of consumer protection laws.

"I signed up for a trial with PDFSimpli for $1.45 on June 26th, 2026 which they automatically renewed at $49.95 on July 11, 2026 not even up to a month. I never used the platform nor was any service rendered. A customer service representative previously promised me a refund when I called to complain which I never received. When I called back on September 3, 2026, the company refused to honor their advertised 30-day money-back satisfaction guarantee. I am seeking a full refund of my money.
Business Response
Date: 09/04/2026
Dear Customer,
We understand your concerns; however, the subscription was initiated under the terms you accepted at the time of purchase, including the $49.95 renewal following the 14-day trial.
We currently have no record of a July refund request or of a representative promising you a refund. If you did contact us, please provide the date and name of the agent you spoke with. When a refund request is submitted, we send an email confirmation that includes the details of the request and the representatives name, so this information should be readily available for verification.
Additionally, even if your first contact with us was on September 3, 2026, that would still be outside our 30-day refund policy and therefore would not qualify for a refund.
For transparency, we are providing a copy of the subscription terms you agreed to, along with the applicable invoice, and will also send these documents to your email.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli

I am rejecting this response because:The businesss defense regarding the timeline is mathematically impossible and completely contradicts its own written documentation.
The business sent an official confirmation letter on June 26, 2026, which explicitly states:
"If you are unsatisfied with PDFSimpli [...] you have thirty (30) days from the date of purchase to request a refund."The business then automatically charged my account $49.95 on July 11, 2026only 15 days after the initial purchase date. By issuing a recurring charge and immediately refusing to refund it, the business actively violated its own stated 30-day money-back satisfaction guarantee.
Furthermore:
Lack of Fair Notice: The company does not send pre-renewal notifications or monthly billing invoices, intentionally keeping consumers in the dark until they audit their bank statements.Unearned Revenue: I subscribed to this service exactly once that I didn't use. The company has provided absolutely zero ongoing value to justify keeping $49.95 of my money, and keeping it constitutes unjust enrichment.
I request that a manager review this file, acknowledge the clear breach of their own stated refund policy, and issue a full refund of the single $49.95 charge.
If this matter is not resolved, I will provide this correspondence to the REMOVED(REMOVED) for deceptive dark pattern billing practices and submit it as final evidence to my financial institution's chargeback department.
Sincerely,
REMOVEDOmuni
Business Response
Date: 09/29/2026
Dear Customer,
Your response conflates two separate terms of the subscription. The 30-day refund policy does not mean that a subscription cannot renew during those 30 days. The subscription was initiated with a 14-DAY TRIAL, after which it renewed at $49.95 in accordance with the terms accepted at signup.
The July 11 charge therefore did not violate the 30-day refund policy simply because it occurred within 30 days of the original purchase. That policy concerns the timeframe for submitting an eligible refund request; it does not extend the 14-day trial or prevent the scheduled renewal.
Regarding your other claims, the subscription terms and billing details were presented during signup, and confirmation documentation was provided following the purchase. The $49.95 charge was not an unauthorized or unexpected charge under the subscription terms. Whether the service was subsequently used does not invalidate the subscription or automatically make the charge refundable.
We also have no record of the alleged July refund request or of a representative promising a refund. If you have documentation confirming such a request, including the date and representative's name, we are willing to review it.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli

Complaint: 25236011
I am rejecting this response because:The business is relying on hyper-technical semantics regarding a "14-day trial" to distract from the core issue: their sign-up funnel utilizes "dark patterns"intentionally deceptive web design meant to obscure a high-cost, recurring monthly subscription of $49.95.
At the time of sign-up, the marketing material led me to believe I was paying a nominal, one-time fee of less than $2 to edit/download a single document.
And mind you, I never used this service at the end of the day.
Enrolling a consumer into a $49.95/month contract without unambiguous, explicit consent violates basic consumer protection principles regarding clear and conspicuous disclosures.
Regarding the timeline, the business claims they have "no record" of my July contact. This is a common tactic used to evade accountability. I contacted customer support in July expecting the service to be handled honestly, and a representative led me to believe a refund/cancellation was being processed. The fact that the business failed to document this internally does not invalidate my request.
Furthermore, I have already engaged my bank, REMOVED, to initiate a formal chargeback dispute for these unauthorized and deceptive transactions. REMOVEDis actively investigating these predatory billing practices.
I will not accept a resolution to this BBB complaint until the business reverses its stance and issues a FULL refund of the unauthorized fees charged to my account.
Sincerely,
REMOVEDOmuni
Business Response
Date: 10/02/2026
Dear Costumer,
We understand that you disagree with our previous response; however, characterizing the transaction as unauthorized or deceptive does not change the account records associated with your registration.
The charge was authorized through the sign-up process, which disclosed the applicable subscription terms, including the transition from the introductory offer to the recurring subscription. The $49.95 charge was not imposed without authorization or through an undisclosed agreement. Our records also show that the service was available under the subscription associated with your account, regardless of whether you ultimately chose to use it.
We must also address your claim that you contacted customer support in July and were led to believe that a refund and cancellation were being processed. We have reviewed the available records and have found no record of the July contact, refund request, or refund authorization you describe. Therefore, stating that you contacted us and that a representative initiated a refund is not supported by our records. Suggesting that the absence of such documentation is merely a common tactic to evade accountability does not change the fact that there is no record of the interaction you claim occurred. This appears to be an attempt to divert attention from the documented circumstances of the account and charges.
If you have a confirmation email, case number, agent name, transcript, or other documentation demonstrating that this interaction and refund authorization occurred, you are welcome to provide it for review.
We also acknowledge your statement that you have initiated a dispute with REMOVED. As the matter is now being reviewed through your financial institution, any dispute will be addressed through the appropriate process and based on the transaction and account records available.
Sincerely,
PDFSimpli

Complaint: 25236011
I am rejecting this response because:The business claims this charge was transparently authorized and that I have no proof of my attempts to resolve this in July.
The actual financial timeline entirely refutes this.
Upon discovering an unexpected $49.95 charge for a service I never utilized, I immediately contacted REMOVEDto investigate. REMOVEDtracked the charge directly to PDFSimpli and immediately cancelled the automatic billing token to prevent further unauthorized access to my funds.Following this, a PDFSimpli representative explicitly confirmed to me that they could see the cancellation had occurred and verbally promised a full refund. It is an internal company failure that PDFSimpli's customer service representatives failed to properly log their own verbal agreement or process the promised credit.
I did not use this software, I acted immediately to stop the billing token through REMOVED, and I was promised a refund by the company's own agent. I maintain my demand for a full refund of $49.95.

am completely rejecting PDFSimplis response. The business claims that they have absolutely 'no record' of any July contact, cancellation request, or action regarding my account, and went so far as to accuse me of trying to 'divert attention.'I am attaching irrefutable proof that directly contradicts their statement. Attached is an official confirmation from REMOVEDdated July 11 stating explicitly: 'Your autopay was canceled.'When REMOVEDcanceled this transaction and billing agreement on July 11th, PDFSimpli was automatically and electronically notified of the cancellation. For the business to claim in an official BBB statement that no such record exists is either a demonstration of severe internal tracking failures or a deliberate attempt to mislead the BBB.This official digital footprint completely supports my timeline of events. Furthermore, this matter is currently under active investigation as a formal dispute with REMOVED. I am keeping this complaint open to ensure PDFSimpli's deceptive billing practices and false statements remain a matter of public record."
Business Response
Date: 10/15/2026
Hello,
The REMOVEDconfirmation provided does not substantiate the allegations made against PDFSimpli. A confirmation stating that an autopay agreement was canceled on July 11 establishes the status of that billing agreement with REMOVED; it does not, by itself, establish that PDFSimpli received a cancellation request directly, that a refund was requested or promised, or that our previous response was inaccurate.
As previously stated, our support records contain no documentation of the alleged July communication or promised refund. The existence of a canceled REMOVEDautopay agreement does not invalidate our findings or establish deliberate misconduct on the part of our business. We cannot accept unsupported accusations of deception or intentional misrepresentation as fact.
We acknowledge that the matter is under investigation by REMOVEDand will cooperate with the appropriate dispute-resolution process. However, we stand by our previous response, as the evidence provided does not substantiate the additional allegations against PDFSimpli.
Best regards,
PDFSimpli

WorkSimpli/PDFSimpli has continuously charged my REMOVEDcredit card $49.95 a month, totaling $799.20, despite my explicit attempts to cancel. Their billing system continues to aggressively run my card, resulting in multiple recent bank declines. I demand a full refund of all 16 unauthorized charges immediately.
Business Response
Date: 08/28/2026
Dear Mr. REMOVEDhave reviewed the concerns raised in your BBB complaint, including your allegation that PDFSimpli/WorkSimpli repeatedly charged your REMOVEDcard $49.95 despite your attempts to cancel, resulting in 16 unauthorized charges totaling $799.20.
At this time, we are unable to verify the account or transactions described in your complaint based on the information provided. We searched our support ticketing system using the name REMOVED, the email address you provided REMOVEDand the available contact information associated with the complaint. We found no support requests, cancellation attempts, or other correspondence under those details. This BBB complaint appears to be our first documented interaction concerning the matter.
Our system does not simply disregard cancellation requests. When a customer contacts our support team to cancel, the request is documented and processed accordingly. Therefore, if you previously attempted to cancel, please provide evidence of the first cancellation request and, if applicable, any subsequent attempts. This may also allow us to further evaluate whether any additional charges warrant consideration under our refund policy.
We also conducted an additional search of the email records associated with subscription receipts and invoices. This search identified an account using the email address REMOVEDwith the account name listed as REMOVEDT. REMOVED. However, we cannot assume that this account belongs to you. This is an old account that was active from September 2024 through March 2025, with subscription charges totaling $349.95 plus a trial fee. We had already issued a full refund for the most recent charge on that account, and that refund was processed over a year ago. Accordingly, we cannot establish from our records that this is the account referenced in your complaint without further confirmation from you. As the most recent charge on this account was already fully refunded over a year ago, we considered the matter resolved and there are no further actions pending on that account.
Regarding your statement that our billing system is "aggressively" charging your card, subscription charges are not processed arbitrarily. Charges are generated in accordance with the subscription terms presented and accepted when the subscription is initiated. If a subscription remains active, recurring charges are processed according to those terms. Any declined transactions shown by your bank do not, by themselves, indicate that unauthorized charges were successfully processed.
You have also requested a refund of all 16 charges. Our refund policy allows refunds for eligible charges made within 30 days of the initial transaction. Therefore, we cannot agree to refund $799.20 without first identifying and reviewing the specific account and transactions involved. The refund policy does not provide for an automatic refund of all historical subscription charges simply because a cancellation is now being requested.
To proceed with a proper investigation, please email our REMOVEDat REMOVEDwith the following information:
The email address associated with your WorkSimpli account, or your account ID number. Your account ID can be found in the confirmation email sent when you initially subscribed or under accounts settings by accessing the website.
The last four digits of the REMOVEDcard being charged.
The full name shown on that REMOVEDcard.
A screenshot of the most recent successfully processed transaction from PDFSimpli/WorkSimpli.
Any documentation showing when you first attempted to cancel, as well as any additional cancellation attempts. Please do not send your full card number or other sensitive payment information. Once we receive this information, our REMOVEDcan determine which account and transactions are associated with your payment method and continue the investigation. We will also be able to compare any documentation you provide regarding your alleged cancellation attempts with our records.
We are including supporting documentation from our investigation so far, including the searches performed in our support ticketing system and the information identified through our receipt and invoice records. These documents demonstrate why we are currently unable to confirm the account or the cancellation attempts described in your complaint.
We are willing to investigate the matter further, but we need sufficient information to identify the account and payment activity before we can make any additional determination regarding refunds.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli

I am filing this complaint regarding a $49.95 refund from PDFSimpli for a July 29, 2026 transaction. PDFSimpli confirmed by email that my refund would be returned within 57 business days. After waiting the stated period, my bank confirmed that no refund was received and requested a refund/ARN transaction reference. When I contacted PDFSimpli, the agent Yeison, changed the timeline to 710 business days, despite my written confirmation, and repeatedly ignored my request for a refund reference number. More concerning was the agents extremely dismissive and argumentative attitude. Instead of resolving the issue, they told me to wait, refused to transfer me to a supervisor via chat, and responded inappropriately when I asked where they were based and for an employee ID. I have screenshots of the entire conversation and the original refund confirmation. I request immediate resolution and investigation of the agents conduct.

Dear Saeed,
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We have reviewed your complaint, the transaction in question, and the interactions you had with our support team.
Regarding the $49.95 transaction from July 29, 2026, our records show that the funds were addressed on our end and that the applicable refund was processed. We are providing supporting evidence with this response for your review. If the amount is still not reflected in your account, we strongly recommend contacting your bank or payment provider again and providing them with the refund information we have supplied. It is also important to clarify that you contacted our support team on the same day the transaction occurred. Based on the timing, it is possible that the amount was still pending or only temporarily authorized by your financial institution and was never fully captured by WorkSimpli. If that is the case, there would not be a separate refund transaction for the bank to locate because the original authorization would simply be released. Your bank is the appropriate party to confirm whether the transaction was actually completed, reversed, or remains pending.
Regarding your request for an ARN or refund reference, such information is dependent on the payment processor and the status of the transaction. Our support team provided the information available to them and directed you toward the appropriate next step. We understand that you expected the matter to be resolved immediately, but the processing time communicated to you reflects standard banking and payment-processing timelines and is outside of PDFSimpli's direct control.
We also take your comments regarding the interaction with our representative seriously. Our expectation is that all customer interactions remain professional and respectful. However, we do not consider the characterization of the conversation in your complaint to change the status of the financial matter, particularly since the funds were already addressed on our end.
You have contacted WorkSimpli through multiple channels, including email and WhatsApp, and we have made reasonable efforts to address your concerns. At this point, we consider this matter resolved from our side. The supporting documentation attached to this BBB response is being provided so that you can review the transaction and refund information directly and, if necessary, present it to your bank for further investigation.
If your bank maintains that the funds were successfully captured by WorkSimpli and that no refund or reversal was received, please ask them to provide confirmation of that status so the matter can be reviewed further with the appropriate payment records.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli

Complaint Against: PS Photoshop (or the company associated with the charge)Complaint Date: August 3, 2026 On July 28, 2026, I signed up for what was advertised as a 7-day free trial. As part of the registration process, I was required to enter my payment information. However, instead of allowing me to use the free trial, the company immediately charged my account $49.95 within seconds of signing up. Date: 08/04/2026
Dear BBB and REMOVEDhas reviewed this complaint and determined that it is based on several factual inaccuracies.
Mrs. REMOVEDreferences "PS Photoshop," Adobe, and the email address ps-android-REMOVEDWorkSimpli Software LLC is not affiliated with Adobe or Photoshop in any way, and we do not offer a 7-day free trial. Any subscription Mrs. REMOVEDmay have with REMOVEDis entirely unrelated to our company.
Our records show that Mrs. REMOVEDvoluntarily created a PDFSimpli account on July 13, 2026, enrolling in our 14-day trial for $1.95. During checkout, Mrs. REMOVEDaccepted the subscription terms, which clearly disclose that the membership automatically renews at $49.95 every four weeks unless canceled before the trial ends. Contrary to the allegations in the complaint, the $49.95 charge was not processed immediately after registration but only after the 14-day trial expired. We will provide supporting documentation confirming the enrollment date, acceptance of the subscription terms, and the renewal in accordance with the agreed billing terms.
Mrs. REMOVEDalso disputed the charge while incorrectly identifying another company as responsible. We would have appreciated the opportunity to address the matter directly before a dispute was initiated and an inaccurate complaint was submitted against WorkSimpli Software LLC.
Although the renewal charge was valid and processed in accordance with the agreed subscription terms, as a one-time courtesy we have canceled the subscription, issued a full refund of $49.95, and will include evidence of both the account closure and refund confirmation. The refund should be reflected on the original payment method within 5 to 7 business days, depending on the customer's financial institution.
We respectfully request that the BBB consider the supporting documentation, which demonstrates that Mrs. REMOVEDenrolled in PDFSimpli's 14-day trial on July 13, 2026, agreed to the disclosed billing terms, and that the renewal occurred only after the trial period concluded. WorkSimpli Software LLC remains committed to transparent billing practices and to resolving customer concerns fairly.
Thank You,
WorkSimpli

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID REMOVED, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Thank you for forwarding the business's response.
I appreciate that WorkSimpli Software LLC has canceled my subscription and issued a full refund of $49.95. I will monitor my account over the next several business days to confirm that the refund is received.
Although I still believe the enrollment and billing process was confusing and led me to believe I was signing up for a trial rather than an automatically renewing subscription, I appreciate the company's willingness to resolve the matter by providing a full refund.
Based on the refund and cancellation, I consider the matter resolved. Thank you to the BBB for your assistance in helping bring this issue to a fast resolution.

Business Name: WorkSimpli Software LLC (operating as PDFSimpli)Complaint Category: Billing/Collection REMOVEDIssues Statement of the Problem:I am filing this complaint due to deceptive billing practices, unauthorized credit card charges, and hostile customer service from REMOVEDLLC (PDFSimpli). The company advertises a 14-day trial for $1.95, followed by a subscription fee. However, my payment method was charged for both the trial and a premium subscription almost simultaneously, completely bypassing the 14-day trial period. Furthermore, I was charged a third time just two weeks later. The exact timeline of charges on my account is as follows:June 30: Charged $49.95 by PDFSimpli.com July 1: Charged $0.95 by REMOVEDPDFSIMPLI July 1: Charged $1.00 by REMOVEDPDFSIMPLI July 16: Charged $49.95 by REMOVEDPDFSIMPLI When I contacted their customer support on July 20 to address this billing error, I was met with scripted responses and outright hostility. Agents "REMOVEDPalomino REMOVED" and "Jeison REMOVEDMonsalve REMOVED" repeatedly stated that the $49.95 charge occurs after the 14-day trial, entirely ignoring my documented proof that the $49.95 and $1.95 charges occurred one day apart.Rather than correcting the billing error, Agent Jeison stated, "I'm sorry but you are not able to understand," and promptly disconnected the chat. Both agents abruptly terminated the chat session when confronted with the actual dates of the charges.Desired Resolution:A complete and immediate refund of all charges totaling $101.85 to my original payment method.Immediate and permanent cancellation of any active accounts or subscriptions under my name/email to prevent future unauthorized charges.I request the BBB look into WorkSimpli's deceptive practice of charging premium subscription fees simultaneously with "trial" fees and their systematic disconnection of customers seeking billing support.Customer Answer

Agent REMOVEDabruptly disconnected the chat. The second REMOVEDJeison, accused me of "not being able to understand" before also abruptly closing the chat window without resolving the issue.
While I eventually received a refund for one of the $49.95 charges after persistent fighting, I am filing this complaint because their billing system is inherently deceptive. Their customer service agents appear trained to evade direct questions and disconnect on customers seeking legitimate explanations for overcharges.
I have a full transcript of the chat and credit card statements available for your review, demonstrating their practices. I request that the BBB investigate this company's billing tactics to prevent other consumers from being similarly defrauded.
Sincerely,
REMOVED

Dear Ms. REMOVEDyou for taking the time to share your concerns. We sincerely regret that your interactions with our customer support team did not meet your expectations. Providing courteous, professional, and respectful service is important to us, and we apologize if your experience with our agents left you feeling unheard or frustrated. We appreciate this feedback and will ensure it is shared internally for review.
That said, we would also like to clarify the circumstances surrounding your subscription and the charges in question.
At the time of enrollment, you signed up for a trial subscription priced at $1.95. As is standard with many subscription-based services, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless it is canceled before the trial period expires. Since no cancellation was received during the trial period, a subsequent subscription charge of $49.95 was processed in accordance with the terms presented at checkout and confirmed in your follow-up email.
As part of our records and in support of this explanation, we have included the payment receipt that was sent to you on the day you signed up, confirmation of the cancellation of your subscription, as well as the invoice reflecting the refund that was issued.
We respectfully disagree with the characterization that our billing practices are deceptive. The trial terms, pricing, and renewal conditions are clearly disclosed prior to purchase and reiterated in the confirmation email. While we understand that these details may sometimes be overlooked, they are made available to all customers before and after enrollment.
As a courtesy, and despite the charge being valid under our Terms of Service, we have already issued a refund for the one subscription charge of $49.95.
While we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, we believe we have appropriately addressed your concerns in accordance with our published Terms of Service and refund policy. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this matter and consider it resolved.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli

First, we sincerely regret that Ms. REMOVEDwas dissatisfied with her interactions with our customer support team. Providing courteous, professional, and respectful service is important to us, and we apologize if her experience did not reflect those standards. Her feedback regarding these interactions will be shared internally for review.
After reviewing this complaint alongside the account previously investigated through the BBB, it appears there may have been a misunderstanding that led to the discrepancy.
The account previously identified under the email address REMOVEDreflects a trial enrollment on July 1, 2026 for $1.95, followed by a subscription renewal of $49.95 on July 16, 2026, after the 14-day trial period had expired. As noted in our previous BBB response, the July 16 subscription charge was refunded as a one-time courtesy.
In this complaint, however, Ms. REMOVEDreferences an additional $49.95 charge dated June 30, 2026. After reviewing our records, this transaction does not appear on the account associated with REMOVED. This indicates that the June 30 charge may be associated with a different payment method or an entirely separate account that was not identified during Ms. REMOVEDprevious contacts with our support team.
This also explains why Ms. REMOVEDbelieved the Company's 14-day trial policy had not been honored. Based on the records available at the time, our representatives were reviewing the account associated with REMOVED, which reflected a trial beginning on July 1, 2026 and a renewal on July 16, 2026, consistent with the Company's disclosed billing terms. If the June 30 charge belongs to a separate account, it would explain the discrepancy between the transactions presented by Ms. REMOVEDand the records available to our representatives during their review.
Because we are currently unable to locate the June 30 transaction using the information provided, additional documentation is needed to identify the corresponding account. We respectfully request that Ms. REMOVEDprovide the transaction receipt, bank or credit card statement, or any identifying payment information reflecting the June 30, 2026 charge of $49.95 by emailing REMOVEDUpon receipt, our support team will promptly investigate the transaction, locate the associated account, and, if it is confirmed to be a separate subscription, review it for the appropriate resolution, including issuing a refund if warranted.
WorkSimpli regrets the miscommunication that occurred during Ms. REMOVEDprevious interactions with customer support. Based on the information available at the time, our representatives were reviewing a different account than the one referenced in this complaint. The Company appreciates the opportunity to further investigate this additional transaction once the requested documentation is received and remains committed to resolving the matter promptly.
Thank you kindly.

Hello, for the privacy reason, I won't upload my whole statements but just transactions related to PDFSimpli. Also let me assure you the payments were taken from the same credit card which screenshot is attached, as well. Another question, if this it was individual account, why I was charged as a group account? More than that, I was charged on 7/16 and supposed to have an access for the whole month but found out that my account was completely blocked same day after communication with your so-called "support".Customer Answer

Dear Ms. REMOVEDyou for contacting us again. We understand your privacy concern and appreciate you providing the transaction-specific documentation.
To clarify, the $1.95 trial automatically converts to the standard $49.95 subscription if it is not canceled within the 14-day trial period. The $49.95 charge is the automatic renewal of the base subscription and is not a separate charge for a group account. This subscription allows additional users to be added, and our records show that another user was added to your account. So, you did use this feature while using our service.
The June 30, 2026 charge was not associated with the account under REMOVEDAfter you contacted our support team, they were able to locate the separate account, cancel the subscription, and issue the applicable refund.
As for your access for our service, the subscription was canceled at your request after you contacted our support team and requested a refund. Once the subscription was canceled and the refund was processed, the account was no longer active, so continued access is obviously not available.
We regret any confusion caused during your previous interactions with our support team. Based on the additional information provided, the accounts in question have been addressed, the applicable subscriptions have been canceled, and the relevant charges have been refunded.
We therefore consider this matter resolved and closed.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli

Good morning, how is it possible that account was not associated with my email if my REMOVED on that email was charged even after the account cancellation? Shouldn't it rise any questions and prompt to contact the customer to verify the information. I have received an email that a refund will be made for the erroneous charge taken from me on 813/26. Previously, the refund was received same day. Today is 8/19/26, and nothing has been refunded so far. I won't consider this case closed until full refund will be processed. I hope your great team will refrain from repeated charges on the closed accounts in the future.

Merchant: WorkSimpli Software LLC (PDFSimpli)REMOVEDMy account email: REMOVEDI first signed up for PDFSimpli in 2024 and cancelled the subscription almost immediately. Despite that cancellation, WorkSimpli resumed charging my card. I was billed $3.95 on 06/28/2026, for a service I had already cancelled and was not using. The charges reappeared after I had cancelled, which means my cancellation was either not honored or was reversed without my consent. I am a REMOVEDresident and believe this violates California's Automatic Renewal Law, which requires honoring cancellations and obtaining affirmative consent before charging. I have since disputed the charges with my card issuer and closed the card to stop further billing. I am requesting a full refund of all charges applied after my 2024 cancellation, and written confirmation that my account is closed.

Dear REMOVED,
Thank you for your message. After carefully reviewing our records, we must respectfully clarify several points.
Our records confirm that the account associated with REMOVEDwas created in January 2024 and remained active until you cancelled it on May 9, 2024. We have documentation of both your original subscription agreement and the cancellation confirmation email that was sent to you at that time. Should this matter require further review, we are able to provide this evidence.
The charge from June 28, 2026 was not generated by the account you cancelled in 2024. During our investigation, we found that you also had a separate account registered under the email address REMOVEDThis account was created independently using a different email address and contains a document associated with your name, confirming it belongs to you. Our email correspondence also shows that you acknowledged this second account with our support team and requested that it be cancelled.
Accordingly, the charges in question originated from this second accountnot from the account you cancelled in 2024. As such, your claim that your original cancellation was ignored or reversed is not supported by our records. Both accounts are now fully cancelled, and you will not receive any further subscription charges from us.
Although we do not agree that any error or violation occurred, as a one-time courtesy we have processed a refund for the most recent charge. Please allow 57 business days for the refund to appear on your original payment method, depending on your financial institution's processing times. For your records, we have also included the credit note as supporting documentation confirming that the refund has been issued.
We appreciate your understanding and consider this matter resolved.
Best Regards,
WorkSimpli

Dear Mr. REMOVEDyou for your follow-up.
We understand your concern. As previously advised, your refund has already been processed on our end. Please note that while the refund is issued immediately by us, it typically takes 57 business days for the funds to appear on your credit card statement, depending on your financial institution's processing times.
For your reference, we have already provided the credit note confirming that the refund was successfully processed. At this time, no further action is required from your side other than allowing your card issuer to complete the processing.
If you do not see the refund reflected after the 7 business day processing period has passed, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you further.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli

I wanted to translate a document. I went on PDFsimpli. I paid a fee for $1.95 then I saw I was charged another $1. The website said I was a one time fee for 14 days. The document was not translated. I canceled the trial. I saw I was charged another $1.95.

Hello REMOVED,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We'd like to clarify a few points regarding how our service works.
PDFSimpli does not offer a "one-time fee for 14 days." The $1.95 payment is for a 14-day trial, which provides full access to the service during that period. We do send you an email with these details. If the trial is not canceled before it ends, it automatically converts into a full membership. There are no additional $1.95 charges during the trial period unless there is a specific billing issue that we would be happy to investigate.
Regarding the $1.00 charge, this is typically a temporary card authorization used by many online services to verify that the payment method is valid. It is not a separate service fee and is generally reversed automatically by your bank.
If you were indeed charged $1.95 twice, we would like the opportunity to review your account because all we could find was the one. Please contact our support team by email and include a screenshot of both $1.95 charges appearing on your bank statement or transaction history. Once we verify the charges, we'll be happy to investigate and, if appropriate, issue a refund for both transactions.
As for the translation itself, there are cases where documents cannot be translated successfully due to factors such as poor scan quality, handwritten text, symbols, tables, or other formatting that makes the content unreadable. This does not necessarily indicate an issue with the website. Our technical support team is available to review these cases and help determine whether the problem is with the file or if there is another issue we can resolve.
Finally, the trial fee is intended to give users the opportunity to try the service and access its features during the 14-day period. However, if the translation did not work because of a technical issue, please explain what happened in your email to our support team. We'll gladly review your case and, if appropriate, refund the original $1.95 trial charge as well as any additional verified $1.95 charge you believe was made.
We appreciate the opportunity to review your concerns and assist you further.

Dear Mrs. REMOVEDyou for your response.
We are sorry to hear that the translation did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify that the inability to translate a document does not, by itself, indicate that the service is a scam. Certain documents cannot be processed successfully due to factors such as scan quality, image resolution, handwriting, formatting, or other technical limitations.
As previously explained, the $1.95 payment was for a 14-day trial, not a one-time translation fee. This information is presented during the checkout process and confirmed in the email sent after enrollment.
That said, we want to resolve this matter fairly. Since your concern is that the translation was unsuccessful, we are willing to issue a courtesy refund of the $1.95 trial charge. If you also believe you were charged an additional $1.95, we still ask that you provide a screenshot or statement showing that second charge so we can verify and refund it if applicable.
Please contact us at REMOVEDso we can process the courtesy refund and review any additional billing concerns. Without the requested information, we are unable to verify the existence of a second $1.95 transaction.
Our goal is to resolve your concern, and we remain available to assist you.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli

I signed up for a trial under deceptive advertising terms. I immediately canceled my account and disputed the charges. The merchant used automated billing systems to fight a $1.00 authorization charge on REMOVED, despite losing a parallel dispute for $0.95 from the exact same sign-up sequence. I am requesting a full refund of my dollar, absolute confirmation that my account is completely closed, and that my data is purged so no future subscription fees are ever attempted.

Date: 06/25/2026
Dear Customer,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. After reviewing your account, we would like to clarify that we respectfully disagree with your characterization of our service.
Our records show that you voluntarily enrolled in our introductory trial after completing the checkout process, where the trial price, automatic renewal terms, and subscription conditions were clearly presented before your payment was submitted. We do not enroll customers in subscriptions without their consent, and the trial was activated only after you agreed to those terms.
We can also confirm that your subscription has been canceled, and no future renewal charges will be processed. Your account is no longer active.
Although we believe the $1.95 trial charge was valid because access to the service was provided in accordance with the agreed terms, we have made a one-time exception and issued a full refund of the $1.00 as a gesture of goodwill and customer courtesy. This refund is not an acknowledgment that the charge was improper. For your reference, we have included evidence of the issued credit note for the $1.00 refund with this response.
Regarding your personal information, we have removed your payment details from our system, and there is no active subscription associated with your account. However, if you wish to permanently delete any documents stored in your account, that action must be performed by you, as only the account owner has access to manage or remove uploaded files.
We hope this resolves your concerns and consider this matter closed.
Sincerely,
WorkSimpli
