      purchased a warranty service not even 7 days ago with a used vehicle purchase and tried calling right before their 5 pm close time and got hung up on by three different agents. And non of them called me back.Horrible customer service. And whats worse, tried calling the after hours number and no one answers. Left several voicemails and still nothing after 3 to 4 hours past.

You cancelled your VSC and on November 08, 2023, CARS issued a check representing CARS portion of the refund due to your lender. Your lender cashed CARS check on November 16, 2023. CARS has reviewed your CARS account, and it appears that you are unhappy because your lender did not apply CARS payment to your account.       Their warranties are worthless!!! After reading several reviews it is very clear I am not the only customer who has had an issue with them covering repairs under warranty. Like some other customers mentioned on here, this company is a scam. I would stay very far away from this company. No extended warranty at all is probably better than paying this company for what you think is a warranty.

      DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I have had NOTHING but issues with this company. I was almost "forced" to obtain additional coverage from them because of issues with *****************. My warranty was about to expire and they refused to pay any of the so called covered repairs that, as per my paperwork from the purchase of my vehicle, should have been covered. When I purchased the coverage with the assurance that my issues would be covered, when it came time for them to pay the repair place they reneged on much of the services. The paperwork I had on hand clearly stated it and they still refused. Finally they take weeks to respond back to repair shops and clients. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!! Scam artists!

      The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:On November 02, 2023, a repair facility opened a mechanical claim on behalf of your vehicle for a radiator and transmission, stating the transmission cooler, which is internal to your vehicles radiator, had failed causing coolant to mix with the transmission fluid. This mechanical claim was denied because neither the transmission cooler nor the radiator is listed for coverage on the Level 2 *************** Contract (VSC) that CARS has on file for you; therefore, any damage caused by those components is also not covered. Please see Provision 3. (f.): 3. COMPONENTS AND EXPENSES NOT COVERED (Applies to all SCHEDULE OF COVERAGE levels): f. Damage/failure to a covered component caused by a NON-covered component.You can find a complete list of your covered components at Provisions 2. (a. & b.).In your review you state that per your paperwork, these repairs are listed for coverage.       This company is a scam. Paid for coverage that covered coolant system. Car ended up having a cracked radiator and water pump 35 days after purchasing warranty coverage. Mechanic sent pictures of failed parts. Claims replied back with it needing to send an inspector and it taking up to 72 hours to do so. While not offering a rental or similar service. In proccess of denying the inspection and paying for repair out of pocket due to the urgency of needing a vehicle I requested to cancel my warranty coverage and be pro rated a return. They denied my cancellation stating it was not within 30 days of signing the contract. Mind you they do not allow you to file a claim until after 30 days of signing the warranty contract. Complete scam and how do companies like this exist.

      The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:On September 28, 2023, a repair facility opened a mechanical claim on behalf of your vehicle stating the radiator was cracked and the water pump was leaking. CARS claims adjuster requested the repair facility submit pictures of the damage to CARS. CARS received pictures from the repair facility that same day; however, the pictures did not show any leaks. CARS claims adjuster then contacted the repair facility and explained that because the pictures did not show any damage, CARS would be ordering an independent inspection of the vehicle to verify the repair facilitys concerns. The repair facility asked CARS claims adjuster if they could complete the repairs and then send pictures of the vehicle apart. CARS claims adjuster explained that would not work. The repair facility stated they would speak to you and call CARS back. Please see the Terms and Conditions of your *************** Contract (VSC) at Provisions 5. (d. AND e.): 5. SERVICE CONTRACT CLAIM PROCEDURES: FAILURE BY YOU OR YOUR REPAIR FACILITY TO FOLLOW THESE CLAIM PROCEDURES MAY DELAY AND/OR RESULT IN CLAIM DENIAL. TO AVOID DELAY, FOLLOW THE CLAIM PROCEDURES LISTED BELOW: d. We have the right to issue an independent third-party inspection on Your Vehicle at no charge to You. However, if Your repair facility is unable/unwilling to show the cause of failure and the extent of damage during an initial inspection, You will be responsible for all re-inspection costs. AND e. Your repair facility MUST provide Us with an estimate for the covered repair in order to obtain an Authorization number BEFORE any repairs have begun. ANY REPAIRS PERFORMED PRIOR TO AUTHORIZATION WILL BE DENIED. On October 06, 2023, the mechanical claim was closed when the repair facility informed CARS claims adjuster that the vehicle was no longer located at the repair facility. Please see your VSC at Provision 5. (a.): 5. SERVICE CONTRACT CLAIM PROCEDURES: FAILURE BY YOU OR YOUR REPAIR FACILITY TO FOLLOW THESE CLAIM PROCEDURES MAY DELAY AND/OR RESULT IN CLAIM DENIAL. TO AVOID DELAY, FOLLOW THE CLAIM PROCEDURES LISTED BELOW: a. The Vehicle MUST REMAIN at the same repair facility until repairs are complete. If Your Vehicle is removed the claim will be closed. If Your repair facility is unwilling or unable to work with Us, then We reserve the right to require You to choose another repair facility.The rental benefit on your VSC is located at Provision 2 (a., vii.): 2. SCHEDULE OF COVERAGE: a. POWER TRAIN BASIC: vii. RENTAL BENEFITS: You will be reimbursed $25.00 for each eight hours of labor guide time to repair or replace the covered component with a maximum benefit of $300.00 per claim, if proof of rental is provided with an authorized claim.If your vehicle is still having mechanical issues, or has mechanical issues in the future, please take your vehicle to a repair facility and have the repair facility follow the claim procedures at Provision 5. in the Terms and Conditions of your VSC. There was no 30-day waiting period to use your VSC.       CARS followed through and paid for a rather expensive part (power steering gear) which I very much appreciated. I still had to pay for diagnostics, labor, alignment and taxes, and was without a car for 6 weeks. It wasn't a 5-star experience, but appreciated none the less.

      The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:CARS appreciates your feedback and is happy to have been able to assist with the mechanical claim made on behalf of your vehicle.CARS apologizes that the mechanical claim took longer than expected as CARS strives to process mechanical claims in a timely matter; however, sometimes there are factors outside of both CARS and the repair facilitys control that can cause a delay in the processing of a mechanical claim. This mechanical claim was opened and authorized on August 02, 2023, and on September 06, 2023, your repair facility contacted CARS explaining that the part the repair facility had ordered had not arrived and was on a back order with no ETA. The repair facility requested to cancel the original part and order an aftermarket part. CARS provided this authorization on September 06, 2023.Regarding the labor on the mechanical claim, there were two (2) hours of labor paid on this claim. Your *************** Contract (VSC) assists with up to $60.00 per hour on a covered mechanical repair and your repair facility charged $192.00 per hour; therefore, you were responsible for the difference.       I have had a great experience so far with CARS. Claims process has been smooth, and no issues or delays with my dealership contacting them. I have purchased many extended warranties, and you need to read all the details and ask questions when it comes to the variety of options for the contracts. They have done a great job covering my repairs, and some of them have been very expensive. I am glad that I purchased this warranty

      This company is a horrific company to work with. They will lie and do anything to get our of covering any sort of repairs that are contractually bound! My car shop and I have had to contact the warranty place over 20 + times regarding my claim. Plus I had to keep calling to find out the status of my claim. The Cars warranty company says they will pay for all your repairs, however that's just a blatant lie. Their "adjuster" Diamond, knows nothing about trucks, transmission or even what an oil pan is. I am floored that a company can send someone like this out to verify issues when she literally didn't know what putting a car in neutral meant. Every time I call claims someone answers with a sigh and has a terrible attitude. They blatantly lied about the shop putting the truck on the lift, there is audio and video of the adjuster lying to the shop owners. I am really floored with this company. I have been verbally accosted by the claims department, which the exception of Herald who is amazing. It was a terrible purchase on my part because I trusted a car dealer just as shady as the cars protection that's probably why they promote it so hard because they are affiliated.

      The CARS Protection ********* (CARS) ************************ is in receipt of your BBB review and responds as follows:CARS was unable to locate a *************** Contract (***) in your name; however, CARS was able to locate the *** and mechanical claim you are referring to. On September 13, 2023, a repair facility opened a mechanical claim on behalf of CARS contract holders vehicle, requesting an oil pan gasket and a transmission. CARS claims adjuster explained to the repair facility that there would need to be a covered mechanical failure demonstrated to the transmission for CARS to authorize a transmission replacement. CARS claims adjuster explained that CARS would send a third-party inspector and requested the repair facility drop the transmission pan in front of the inspector.On September 15, 2023, the independent inspection company tried twice to schedule the vehicles inspection and the repair facility told the third-party inspector that they were not ready for the inspection; therefore, the inspection was scheduled for a later date of September 19, 2023.On September 18, 2023, CARS claims adjuster contacted the repair facility and verified that the inspection was to take place the next day, September 19, 2023.On September 19, 2023, the third-party inspector arrived at the repair facility to find the vehicle parked in a parking lot instead of on a lift and ready for the transmission pan to be dropped. The repair facility would not facilitate a pan drop; therefore, the third-party inspector was unable to verify a cause of failure to the vehicles transmission. The third-party inspector crawled under the vehicle and was able to verify the oil pan gasket failure. The independent inspection company provided CARS with pictures taken at the time of inspection and the vehicle is located in a parking lot, not on a lift inside the repair facility.On September 21, 2023, after receiving and reviewing the inspection report, CARS claims adjuster contacted the repair facility and explained that CARS would need the repair facility to perform a transmission pan drop and provide CARS with proof of a covered cause failure to the transmission before CARS could authorize a transmission replacement.On September 27, 2023, CARS had still not received the requested diagnostic information for the transmission failure; therefore, CARS claims adjuster called the repair facility. The repair facility stated the vehicle had not been brought inside the repair facility for diagnostic testing yet.CARS provided an assistance quote for the verified oil pan gasket failure; however, to date, the repair facility has not provided proof of, or cause of transmission failure, and CARS cannot authorize a transmission replacement without proof of a covered cause of failure. CARS has requested the repair facility provide CARS with the video you referred to in your review, and the repair facility is either unable or unwilling to provide the video to CARS. Please have either the repair facility or CARS contract holder provide the video to CARS claims department and CARS will review the video.CARS hopes this information was helpful.Sincerely,The ************************ la
