I have been with Consumer Cellular for several years now, with everything working as advertised. I have also purchased several phones through them with "relatively" no problems. The exception coming from this last purchase when my account was on-hold from a collections problem caused by a previous customer I introduced them to. I enjoy the many benefits from CC as opposed to the previous company that I transferred from that starts with a V and ends with an N. **** was just as expensive. Could the customer service aspect of CC be better? Of course, but this is the case with a lot of cellular service providers. I have the phone I ordered that the wife wanted (iPhone14 pro), with an affordable plan, as opposed to other big box providers, so all is good!

Thank you for providing us with this feedback! We are sorry to hear of the order delay but hope your wife enjoys the new phone!

Was not only mislead on pricing but also on singing a easy pay plan to witch the customer service man said seeing you qualified for it you don't need to pay up front for cell phone...and goes on to say your 1st bill will be around 14th or 15th of June. TO my surprise bill or what I though was **** said payment do 26th of May and price was told to me it would be between $45-$48 but it said total $65 . Called customer service up they were no help, supervisor said..sorry he didn't tell you that and said..you can drop easy plan but you would have to pay phone in full or sand you return and cancell..told him I canceled service with ******* I would have no cell phone..YOUR COMPANY EMPLOESS ARE NOT TRAIN GOOD ENOUGH..now I'm facing your billing **** in taking out $65 I'm on limited income and your man that sign me up didn't tell me anything of that only doing easy plan I would not have to pay now full price of phone..I WAS MISLEAD INTO GETTING YOUR SERVICE THAT WAS TO SAVE ME AS YOUR TV AD SAYS..CUT YOUR CELL PHONE BILL IN HALF..wtf you have not..only thing your company did was put me up against a wall..I'm in the process of seeking legal help and back to your supervisor he could not produce were on that so called contract were it said..your checking act would be auto deducted..and i just started getting your service and have not even made 1st paymeant god i regret now getting your cell phone service..*****************************

Understanding your easy pay plan is one thing, but not being told #1 total $45-$48 is not including taxes and such,#2 that the only way to opt out of auto deduct was if my credit was very good ( as i learn the last time I called and your supervisor told me " people with good ratings have that opt. But you did not qualified because of your credit) #3 your rep who sign me up had said your 1st BILL not a invoice saying DO NOT PAY CARD WILL BE CHARGED on the 26th ( witch I was told would be coming 14th or 15th of JUNE NOT MAY) IF YOUR REPS GET ANY INCENTIVES FOR NEW MEMBERS THAT GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING for it puts that new customer in such a big bind especialy if that customer is on ssn VERY LIMITED INCOME SUCH AS I and cancells service with verizion and breaks SD. Card seeing I was starting service with your company..in closing I'm all up FOR SOMKIND OF RESULUTION but in paying off cell to be taken off auto deduct or sending cell back knowing old cell now is no good and service with verizion canceled all do because of your rep not disclosing all but maybe getting a incentive of some sort that only leaves for your company to make things right...

The agent I talked with Friday night was great- extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I have a freeze on my credit report and although, while on the phone I temporarily removed the freeze I had to call back tonight. The agent I spoke with tonight is the most vile, argumentative woman I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with! She didn't explain what she was asking- like the 4 digit *** I set up on Friday OR the *** (which was 6 digits rather than 4) from a previous account that I had closed out. She failed to LISTEN to what I told her and proceeded to tell me that I am not able to get a new phone on the Easy Payment Plan. I totally understand that my credit will be checked and, IF I don't qualify then I need to pay for the phone in full. She was extremely aggravating and actually had the ***** to laugh when I asked for a supervisor to complain about her service.

$55 for 2 is very deceptive. You loose your **** discount! They tell you only when you call that it's included in the $10 discount! Not only that the service is getting worse!Text between other Consumer Cellular customers are very slow, anywhere from 4 to 13 minutes most of the time. They did an update to our phones and now the data is very slow and we no longer have service where we use to! You can call customer service and ask the same question and get a different answer every time! our normal bill that we had was about $74 a month and win. This new plan came up for $55 for two that was $10 cheaper than what we were paying but when we got the bill it was only $6 less, customer service told ** that the $10 discount included the **** $3.25 discount and they also said the taxes and fees stayed the same even though this plan was supposed to be $10 cheaper. Very deceptive corporate *******. ?

it's sad when a company that you have been paying monthly fees for services and they switch towers to better service accounts, but when they cannot convert a personal phone to the new tower, you are told that you, the customer, must purchase a new phone at your cost to accommodate.

Weak signal 90% of the time. Impossible to get hold of anyone at their call center. I tried a online chat but that got cut off because the signal disappeared.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about the weak signal you are experiencing.  We understand how important it is to stay connected.  When troubleshooting a device, it is important to reconnect to a cellular signal and turning the phone off then back on will do this.  If you are on the device during this time, you will lose connection.  Please call us or chat with us from a different device, we would like to assist.  Our contact information is listed at the top of the page, we look forward to hearing from you!

Absolutely one of the worst cell providers. They bounce customers between 2 networks (att and ********* causing your phone not to be picked up by cell towers. Calls often go to voicemail because of that and you cannot make or receive calls until you reboot your phone. You of course dont know your phone is a rock until someone texts you about it or you try to make a call. Even resetting network settings on your phone only works till you get bounced again. Customer service reps and their supervisors of course blamed the phone and not their network and recommended the only solution was buying one of their new phones. After having enough, finding another cell provider, and trying to port the phone number to the other company, Consumer Cellular blocked the port attempt numerous times till they were threatened with the *** after several hours of their incompetence. BTW the current phone (an iPhone which was purchased directly from apple and therefore unlocked) and service works perfectly with the new cell provider. Consumer Cellular is an awful, nefarious company that has made a business of preying on seniors.

Thank you for your feedback.  Consumer Cellular provides services via two networks, however, the device is either assigned to one network or the other. We are sorry to ************* did not work work well on our network.

When a number transfers from one service to another, all the information must match from the previous carrier to the new carrier including the transfer PIN.  We know this process can be frustrating, however, number transfer information is mandated by the *** and is in place to protect customers private information.

The companys meaningless reply is just as empty as those of their inept customer service reps and supervisors. Being sorry for a perfectly good iPhone not working on your lousy network is nice but no one at your company could explain why it didnt work nor offer a refund due to the lack of service to a senior customer with many serious health issues whose life could rely on the phone to work. No troubleshooting was done, no solution was offered as to why an unlocked perfectly good iPhone wouldnt work on your network, the only solution offered was to buy a Consumer Cellular phone. That was insulting and total nonsense. As far as the porting experience, the Consumer Cellular response is again way off. The company response here assumes things that are totally incorrect, which is an apparent Consumer Cellular tactic for the senior customer the company targets to lose patience and just give up. Here are the ****** not assumptions... The porting information was EXACT, the pin was EXACT. The new service provider called Consumer Cellular in multiple conference calls with us on the line each and every time the port request didnt go through and denied by Consumer Cellular. Everything was exactly as it needed to be. Its rather ironic how the final time after more than three hours and numerous attempts that the number port finally went through was after I stated in disgust I would be contacting the *** about Consumer Cellulars nefarious practices. Then, magically the exact same information that was provided each and every time prior went through and the number was ported. Please save your reply, the company reply is grasping at straws in attempt to make Consumer Cellular look good in this public forum since the company rep replying to these BBB posts was not on the telephone any of the times of the service and porting issues.

I can't even give them one star, but had to or the review won't be accepted.Very misleading advertising. Another bait and switch scan. What is the worst part is that they advertise to seniors, then provide NO Support for their phones or cell service.I don't think any cellular phone provider is providing any value to the American consumer today.Going back to a land line.

I sent an email to this company (Consumer Cellular) requesting to CANCEL this service!!!!! The cell phone bill is supposed to be $25/month, now they are charging over 40 dollars, WTF? I just got another email and now they want 80 dollars. There is no easy way to contact this company, if you are lucky to get a live human being on the phone after being on hold for over 1/2 hour, all they want to do is sell you more product, not solve issues. Buyer Beware very deceptive advertising...Consumer Cellular needs to have a class action lawsuit filed against them for taking advance of senior citizens!
