Worst customer service. They put you on hold and never come back or mute you and pretend like they can't here you. I ordered a new Iphone 14 Pro for my husband. It was the wrong phone and we ordered the IPhone14 Pro **** When it came we sent the other phone, not used, still in original box and plastic back to them. After about a week we receive the brand new phone in the mail back with the statement, "phone is damaged and can't be returned". So... the brand new $1200 phone was not used at all and sent back and now it is damaged? How, if it went back to them in original packaging as it was received? Of course I called and they said there is nothing they can do. I asked for supervisor after supervisor and still no solution. I had several people inspect the phone and they did not see any damage AT ALL. Now they want to charge my account for the phone and they started taking payments on this phone without my permission. I never authorized a payment on a phone I did not use or have in my possession. I sent the phone back again and said, there is no damage, refund my account. Then about a week later I get an email, "no refund damaged." Email us back with what to do. I emailed them back and asked what the trade in was for this Brand New phone, No can do till it is paid off. Of course it isn't paid off cause I returned the phone in it's original shape and packaging. Needless to say, I am now waiting 3 more days for a Super Supervisor to call back. Meanwhile you can't get the best trade in because it's past 30 days. Oh yes I learned this today as well. So all the mailing back and forth voided the return for best price. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM, I WILL CANCEL MY CONTRACT ASAP AND TELL PEOPLE HOW HORRIBLE THE SERVICE IS. I have been a customer over 3 years and customer service is always awful. Now they are charging me $1200 for a phone I don't want, brand new and is not even in my possession. They have the phone. I believe I need to consult an attorney.

Horrible customer service. Someone stole my SIM card and cellphone number ported to another phone. Was told that my online access was suspended for 30 days and then was told 90 days per fraud department. Then called in 98 days later because online access was still blocked and was told that its 6 mos. Even though the notes said 90 days I was told that I didnt know what I was talking about they didnt want to hear about it. Im looking to pay more at ******* just for better customer service and store front access. No one is in the page with consumer cellular. WORST COMPANY EVER!!!

AARP should be held accountable for recommending CC to seniors!! CONSUMER CELLULAR SUCKS!! JD ************* are lying too!! Your customer service STINKS!! I live in **, and when I travelled to VA, guess what? No service. No GPS, no internet, no calling, NO BARS, NO CONSUMER CELLULAR! The CC advertisement that I READ, said Consumer Cellular offered "NATIONWIDE" coverage. Well, the last I looked, ** was part of the Nation!! So, I, who am disabled, sat in Trader ***'s parking lot in ************** crying, because my Consumer Cellular coverage was NON EXISTENT, and I had no idea where I was. And then TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, when I spoke with a representative about the problem, she did something that SHUT THE ***** OFF AND KEPT IT OFF ALL DAY! Thank God I have a platform that lets me tell about a half million folks how lousy CUNSUMER CELLULAR really is. I want to leave my phone number, so some liar from Consumer Cellular can response, but it won't let me.

I was trying to find an affordable plan for my elderly parents since they were paying over $80/mo on their current plan. They only have a cell phone for emergencies and the occasional text messages from their grandchildren, so it didn't make sense to have such a high cost plan. My mom received a direct mail from Consumer Cellular - $20/month plan, AND you can keep you current phone and number. Sounds perfect! And they can be found in most Target stores. Even better! We quickly regretted our decision. Not only was there no representative in the store, the only thing you can do IN store is purchase a new phone and then they can activate the account. We were told we could purchase the *** card, then follow the simple steps in the instructions. I consider myself fairly "tech savvy" but this turned into a horrible troubleshooting experience. Long story short, after hours off and on the phone, it turns out the *** card was a dud. When we switched it out the next day, we spent another few hours on the phone trying to get it to work. Turns out they could not "deactivate" the dud card, so an account had been created and we could not get in to disable. And they could not disable. Even after they sent me a password reset, I still couldn't get in. And it wasn't user error. We finally told them to completely cancel the account. By this time, their current carrier had already transferred the number to CC and it was going to be a real pain, according to my carrier to get back. My husband and I had decided to just put them on our plan for $20/mo but they had to get a completely new number. The reps I talked to, for the most part, were kind and considerate...which I appreciated. But for someone like my parents who are not tech savvy, this was just too difficult of a process. I was only in town for a few days to help, so when I left this had not been resolved. Luckily her local ******* store was extremely helpful, and we now have them on our plan. CC, too good to be true.

Thank you for your feedback.  We are sorry to hear problems arouse when attempting to use our service with your existing device. Many cell phone manufacturers will manufacture the same model phone for different carriers. Even amongst the same brand and model, there can be differences in the network and frequencies a device is capable of supporting based on the carriers requirement. While our **************** representatives do everything they can to help solve problems, we cant guarantee every cell phone model can be configured with our service.

If a customer is not satisfied for any reason, they can cancel their service anytime within the *** period and pay nothing. We'll even send a postage-paid shipping label to return the phone. If the phone was purchased at retail, the customer will need to return the phone to the store under the store's return policy. All  equipment must be in 'like-new' condition, and that any lock features that they have activated must be removed.

On 4/13 I tried to activate my Consumer Cellular mobile phone account after installing the *** card they mailed me. I had initially entered the **** number of my phone as requested, and it announced "Congratulations, your phone is compatible with Consumer Cellular."After several calls to port my TMobile PIN number to ********************** to retain my existing phone number and 2 hours on the phone with their support staff trying to get the phone to work, they finally told me that my phone was not compatible and would not work. They offered my the opportunity to purchase a phone from them. Now I am out $5 for their worthless *** card and no phone service, a defunct TMobile *** card and defunct TMobile account. I now have nothing, no working phone for an indeterminate period. My complaint is simply this: I was told that my phone was compatible and it is not. Surely this bad business at best!

To be compatible with our service, your phone must be unlocked by your previous carrier and be VoLTE capable. We have a high success rate as long as these requirements are met.

On 4/24 the company responded: "To be compatible with our service, your phone must be unlocked by your previous carrier and be VoLTE capable. We have a high success rate as long as these requirements are met."Yes I did have an unlocked phone, but it would have been useful to know of the VoLTE compatibility issue up front, rather than the "bait and switch" tactics I experienced, where ultimately, when I was informed that my phone was not compatible, the rep stated: " You can buy a phone from us.". Also, It would have been useful to know that I would need to keep my Consumer Cellular account open to reinstate my service with another carrier using the Porting PIN number I was given. The ********************** support reps should know this, and should have told me as I explained my situation and what I was trying to do. I needed to reopen my Consumer Cellular account, so that it what I did. Yesterday, when attempting to transfer my phone number back to TMobile, the Consumer Cellular rep told me that " the system is down" we cannot do anything at this point. Finally today, after numerous calls and hold times calls with both agents from TMobile and Consumer Cellular, on a 3 way conference call, I was able to get my number ported back to TMobile. Ironically, in the end, the $20 per month 1GB data plan that Consumer Cellular advertises daily on TV can be had at TMobile for $10 per month!

I bought 2 phones on their Easy Pay Plan. On 4-7-2023 I paid them off. The service rep. sent me 2 emails confirming that the phones were paid in full. On 4-13-2023 my bank account was debited for my monthly charges plus the charges for the phone payment. When I called customer service the rep put me on hold and claimed that the rep that took the payment made a mistake and that I owed more money. They also throttle the unlimited data plans to where they are almost unusable.

Very incompetent. Could not initiate *********** with New CC phone. 2+ hours, $140 + in parts, and 30 miles driving but no service and loss of phone number - truly " cellular" level service.

We are sorry to hear of the frustration encountered when activating services. Many cell phone manufacturers will manufacture the same model phone with the frequency based on the carrier the phone is manufactured for. Our representatives will do everything they can to assist with the device but unfortunately, not all devices are compatible with our network. If the number was transferred to our service we are happy to assist with number retention. Please reach out to our US based customer service team to help.
