All I can say is I'm very disappointed with Consumers Cellular, I have had nothing but problems with my data and I'm planning on going back to my old carrier. I will be doing this really soon.

Consumer Cellular sent my daughter a new SIM card for her Iphone XR. (She had been using the phone on Consumer Cellular's network for the last 2 years.) (She needed a new SIM card because Consumer Cellular was switching networks from T-Moblie to ATT.) After she put in this new SIM card, her phone stopped working. Consumer Cellular told my daughter that she had to call Apple or T-Moblle to unlock her phone to work with her new ATT SIM card. Apple said they could not unlock it, only ******** could. ******** said that they would not unlock the phone (this was after they told ** they would but it would take 3 days) because my daughter never had service with ********.) My daughter was without a phone for 4 days. (Between Consumer Cellular, ******** and Apple - we had spent 5 plus hours on the phone.) I called Consumer Cellular (which I had been a customer of for 15 years) and told them to replace my daughter's phone which they refused to do. They told me to give them 3 more days to try and unlock it. I refused to wait three more days.

Let's start with where we came from...My wife had **************** through ****** system. With *******'s acquisition of TracFone, we found that she was no longer getting her monthly data allotment and her carryover data was quit working. Did TracFone tell **? No. We had to figure it out for ourselves. After a week of a dozen phone calls to TracFone, five hours talking with offshore techs reading off scripts, two new TF SIM cards, and multiple assurances that our problem was fixed, the problem was NOT fixed. ** then said we needed to buy a new phone, despite my wife's phone being less than two years old, and both TF and ******* online sites saying it was compatible. We gave up on TracFone. They lost a ten-year customer. After some online research and talking with friends, my wife decided to try Consumer Cellular. It took three short phone calls, primarily because TF was not releasing my wife's number. We had to get a CC rep involved. CC did a three-way call with TF and me and got my wife's number released. My wife couldn't be happier. Comparing CC to TF... It was clear the CC service reps knew their stuff and they weren't just reading off a script. They got ** set up with minimal hassle, even though it was late on Sunday afternoon / Mothers' Day. My wife was also very happy that she could understand what the CC reps were saying because they're located in the **** Our experience with Consumer Cellular has been very good so far. Comparing it to TF, the difference is night and day.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. For months I tried to convince my mother to get rid of the horrible Tracfone and switch to CC. She finally gave in...and the phone died after less than six months! She was so frustrated (setting it up in the first place was a nightmare)--even though I said all I had to do was go to the store and get a new phone, she refused. My 83 year old mother went to Dollar General and purchased a Tracfone. (her memory is not great and she forgot how poor the service was). But she preferred it to CC. I waited a couple of months, hoping she'd change her mind. She didn't. She finally sat with me, chatting with a "customer service" rep ********************* and we were told that even though the billing was on the 20th of the month (we called on the 19th)-we would be responsible for the previous month as well as two weeks of the current month! Six weeks of service, over $50, for a phone that hadn't worked in two months. I'm sure she had it in her discretion to credit at least a month and she couldn't be bothered. My elderly mother was fuming (I paid for her cell bill and she didn't want me to have to pay this). And I don't think I should have to either. Don't be fooled! This is NOT an elderly friendly company. Sign up with some other carrier. Deceptive and not consumer-oriented at all.

I love this company! They are unfailingly helpful and responsive. They have a wide variety of products to meet every customer need and back up their products with excellent customer service. And their service plans are the best! Highly recommended!

I was having trouble activating my new iPhone. My customer service rep was so patient and explained everything to this non-tech savvy customer. She spent half an hour with me and resolved the issue. I couldnt ask for a more pleasant and helpful person.

I recently changed cell phone service providers to Consumer Cellular and I AM NOT HAPPY!! Firstly, BEFORE I agreed to switching my service to Consumer Cellular I asked MANY questions - one of which was going with a plan that was 'The Same As' or 'most comparable to' the plan that I had. I was told by the rep at Consumer Cellular that my new plan WOULD be the same. IT IS NOT! To add insult to injury Consumer Cellular is charging me with what they call an "Opt-Out Fee". Because I don't use "Auto Pay" they will charge me a fee! Like with EVERY other provider I have used their mobile app to make my payments and that was just fine with NO additional fees applied. Apparently Consumer Cellular INSISTS that you use Auto Pay! The fact is that they will ALWAYS get paid regardless of whether I used the mobile app, or went to their phone store, or even MAILED IN my payment. All were perfectly acceptable to ALL of my previous providers! I choose NOT to use use Auto Pay mostly for security reasons. This way I AM IN CONTROL of WHO gets paid, how much, and when! Consumer Cellular demands that I pay them in a way that THEY prefer and NOT how I CHOOSE to!! This is UNACCEPTABLE!! NO phone provider should dictate HOW ANYONE prefers to pay them. The bottom line is that they ALWAYS WILL GET PAID (or I will lose my service). I have spoken to Consumer Cellular about this MANY TIMES, but they are adamant about this "Opt-Out Fee"!! Honestly, I don't see what the difference is HOW I pay as long as they get paid!! I don't understand, exactly, HOW this would change or affect their business. Bottom line is that the CONSUMER should be in charge of how THEIR funds are distributed, to whom, and when!! There NEEDS to be stronger REGULATION (legislation?) to PREVENT cell phone companies from taking advantage of consumers by charging them with inappropriate and unjustified fees just to boost their profit margins!! THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!

They turned off the wifi calling on our phones and won't refund any money. They also blocked me from ********* They're awful! The people that work for them are extremely rude. We're shooting around for another provider. They should be ashamed!
