      Got the phone in the promised time frame.Contacted customer service to set it up. Setup went well. They have very good customer service. Short wait time, understandable and quick.

      Worse company, in 2020 I brought my mother a cellphone form them to keep in touch with her from the nursing home she was in. She past in January on the 2nd 2022. I called them and asked for them to disconnect her phone and paid the last balance on her phone. Today I wanted to gift the phone to another person but it was locked, call consumer cellular to be told by ******* that I have a outstanding bill that must be paid before they will unlock the paid off cellphone. She kept over talking me telling me I probably dont remember since its been some time ago insulting my intelligence. Call again spoke to a nicer gentleman name ***** whom helped me more than expected. Gave me the collection agency I need to contact to settle the matter. Found out my account was nevered closed until March 2022 and then sent to the collection agency for refusal to pay per Consumer Cellular. Need to do better, just because she past away you shouldnt have taken advantage just to keep padding your pockets shame on you and hope this never happens to you for you all to feel the disgust and hurt I feel now trying to resolve the problem remember the saddest time in my life.

      Phone stopped working a couple of weeks into my contract. Called customer service and was told to go to the Target store kiosk. They fixed it. It lasted a few weeks and happened again. Again called cs who had me do a few things, still not working. Cs made me an appointment for the Target store. I show up for my 2:00 appt but no representative. Target employee said no one showed up that day-supposed to be open at 10AM! Called cs AGAIN, was told to go to a Ubreakfix store. Drove there, worker looked it over said the motherboard is shot. Called cs they are sending new phone. Asked me to be sure to clear the phones info or I could be charged. Ummm..phone is u usable-cant clear it when you cant turn it on. Also, we have a metal roof and horrible reception in our house. Think twice before going with this cell service.

      Consumer Cellular has gone from okay to down right impossable to deal with. I lost my sim card and chatted on line with not one but four reps, and kept getting cut off. Requested a call back 4 times no call in 3 days. I drove 80 miles round trip to get a sim card, while at ******* the service rep from Consumer Cellular told me they "for security reasons" could not activate my sim card as I would have to do it on line, even with me standing at the ******* counter. I asked for a supervisor and he was rude and said no one can over ride the security issues, which they had done twice before. I got home and "you guessed it" it would not activate from my PC. After 3 reps tried to activate it without success, I figured out the issue by restarting my phone, then everything was working. Why in Gods name couldn't 3 different reps figure it out, but me being 66yo with no tech savvy just figured it out on my own. Consumer Cellular is going down hill fast. I will be looking for a new company ASAP as CC just can't keep up. PS try hiring English speaking employees, it would help. I so hate having to deal with a company that use to be very good to one that seems to be falling off the edge.

The customer must verify the account's security PIN as an added security measure for equipment activations. Then, a one-time passcode is sent to the customer's phone via text or to the email on file. The customer is required to provide the passcode to complete the activation. This ensures that the customer has knowledge of the request.
