1 starApplied for service on line, first by checking the **** number on their website to make sure our phones were compatable with their service. The web site indicated both phones were compatable. I than ordered two SIM cards and paid $5.00 for shipping. Once the cards arrived I contact Consumer Cellular and spoke to a technician and was instructed to put SIM card into one of the two phones and then he proceeded to attempt to connect phone to their system. For close to an hour he attempted to activate the phone witout success and finally determined our phones were not compatable and the information on their web site was not always accurate. We were then left with a phone with no service because the number had been ported over to Consumer Cellular from our previous provider. The next day we obtained new phones and service from a different carrier and subsequently received a BILL from Consumer Cellular for service. Contacted them again and they cancelled the bill but did not offer a refund on the shipping expense. Cautionary tale, don't trust their web site.Consumer Cellular
