1 starIf you need a barely competent lawyer to write a letter filled with spelling errors for you, then this service is perfect.If you need actual representation for a lawsuit, traffic tickets, or something similar, don't bother. This company claims they will represent you, but they will find a million reasons why they can't. They quite honestly should be investigated for fraud, and have a class-action lawsuit brought against them ironically. You'd be better off finding a public defender who wants to build their career and make a name for themselves. I got two traffic tickets, and they came back and told me they wouldn't cover me, because it doesn't affect my driving record (except it very clearly did/would have been 3 points on my license).They were happy to forward me to a local attorney for a "Discounted" rate, which was as discounted as a department store sale, where they jack up the price intentionally to say it's on sale. They are predatory and will bail on you when you actually need them. Stay far, far, far away if you need actual legal representation.Review fromHui-Hsin W

2 starsThe company advertises that membership can be canceled "at any time" and suggests that doing so is as simple as sending an email or making a phone call. I submitted my cancellation request via email on April 30, 2025, but received no response beyond automated replies. I followed up again by email on May 9, 2025, and still only received automated responses. On May 15, I discovered that they had continued to charge my account. I called their customer service and was told that cancellations take 15 days to process. According to them, my request was not processed until May 13, 2025, meaning my membership would remain active until at least May 28. When I asked for written documentation explaining this 15-day processing policy, they stated that it is an internal guideline and could not be shared. As of today, May 23, 2025, my membership is still active according to the app, and I have received no further communication confirming the status of my cancellation. Given these inconsistencies and the lack of transparency, I am sharing my personal experience to warn other people about their practice.Review fromZachary J

4 starsThe attorneys that return my call aren't always the most polite, but they get the job done and they know their stuff. I've been a loyal LegalShield member since they were called Pre-Paid Legal back in the day. I think I originally joined in 2001. They've saved me time and again from shady landlords, helped with car buying and my divorce, and helped me *** a *** who caused a major car accident when he and his insurance refused to pay. They don't handle every case in house, sometimes you'll get referred to an associated attorney, but they're very knowledgeable and helpful when explaining legal situations. 5 starsIn 2023 LS saved in $15K in costs I would have paid for college stemming from an issue with my ex-spouse and a financial gift to our kids. In 2024 they save me from paying $12K for 3 additional years of child support for a child going to graduate school. I didnt know what I was doing, but LS really save me a lot of money I thought I had to pay out of my pocket. About a whopping $27,000!!!Review fromMark B

1 starThe lady that signed me up for the service and the lawyer that I spoke to told me that I would get a local attorney once I proceeded with my case. The attorney that they assigned me is 3.5 hours away! What happened to their claim of THOUSANDS OF ATTORNEYS nationwide to take your case? I asked if I could legalshield to sue legalshield for false claims and she immediately said NO. That means to me that they have had this situation before. Stay away from these scammers.
