I came across Digital Forensics on 2/08/24. I signed up to receive their services on the same date, which was told me to be $149. On 2/10/24, I received a call from a technician that could not provide the company's services because the phone belonging to me could be accessed. I canceled the membership, and on the same phone conversation, they told me $149 would be refunded. That never happened. I called to follow up a few days later and *****(?) told me he would get refund processed but for some reason, opened another account for me. Still, no refund. I called back and spoke to *****, again, another account was created and another amount of $149 was charged, bringing the total charge to $298. Still no refund. I called several times after they had charged me, they kept telling me someone would call me back. No one ever did. I called 3/08/24, to find out a recurring amount of $149 had been charged in addition to the already charged, $298, bringing up the total to be $447. I called on 3/11/24 to Digital Forensics to get this resolved and finalized. I spoke with Kevin, who refused to give me his last name and was very rude to me. He told me someone would call me back and refused to let me speak to the manager. He also said that all of the other caseworker's were too busy to talk to me and he was helping me but, " he couldn't help me". All I want is this money to go back on the credit card that was used to make the initial transaction. Also, for no one else to be duped or of their money. Sincerely, **** ******

I was scammed and extorted by a person online and under stress and perceive threat I reached out to Digital Forensics Corp. who claimed will help me subdue the original scammer if I paid them a flat fee on top of a financing plan of $1500. Because of their fearmongering sale
pressure under my emotional distress I agreed to pay Digital Forensics Corp said set amount and agreed to pay the initial $1500 financing fee while being continually pressured by them to purchase an immediate response plan for $5000. I signed what I thought
was the $1500 plan which would have a case worker work on my case throughout the week to navigate the extortioner but after a week what was done was the bare minimal. This included a couple of messages to the extortioner before asking the person to click a link in an effort to obtain an IP address which the extortioner was not willing to do and at most Digital Forensics Corp was only to find out that the extortioner is using a proxy site. Digital Forensics Corp shared me said bare minimal work and pressured to sell me a $7.8k plan to harass them a little bit more throughout the next few weeks and make a PowerPoint to present to the person's local
authorities which they still have no leads on. I declined and was still under the impression I was just going to pay my financing plan even if the services was vaguely described per a signed contract. I find out that I was under the expedited plan which was the $5k plan which services were not given and they claimed I'm under contract. I did reach out to their finance department to contest the tactic but they said I am under contract and offered someone in their department to speak with me about the attempt dispute. As of the date of this report, no one from their business has attempted to reach back to me. While I can pay the original verbally agreed finance plan despite services described be debatably met, I don't think this $5k coerced contact which didn't reflect services is justified.

I am a victim of a sextortion receiving threatening messages on my private phone which has been hacked . The company touts its services mitigating the situation ( I found them after a cursory search...the way we all find our services these days) after a cursory search. They provide this service on their website on 10/19/2023. Spoke to a great Case Manager and he mentions given the severity of my case he recommends a service to mitigate my situation in three days for a grand total of $7200.

The service involved me sharing any threatening messages I received after hiring them and giving them access to my accounts (yes I know...). After paying the money I get a cursory call from an analyst on my case giving me some advice about forwarding texts and the like. As soon as I contacted them threats stop. I don't receive any more threatening messages.

Did I mention, the threats materialize by accident after a call from my case manager when they call me and my wife picks up on the and she accidentally picks up. Long story short, its not good.

All I want is a refund per the contract I signed (yes I Know...). Less than 24 hours have passed since my initial call and they are giving me the go-around for the refund since they have completed their end of the bargain.

I am back to square one resolving the matter nu myself with my phone company and law enforcement after legal advice that will take a while to solve. I am not sure where i go from here but please do your due diligence. his is a cautionary tell to all and mostly to me.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

They are refusing to offer any refund.

The business in their response asked me to reach out to the customer service only to tell me that I initiated a chargeback on the initial payment made by credit card and that they are not gong to refund my money even after I suggested calling my credit card company to cancel the dispute. For the record the chargeback was initiated after their customer specialist refused to honor the refund policy on their original contract a day after I signed the service  agreement. On that day the specialist I spoke to  asked me to take a fraction of the refund I was owed per their contract. I have a copy of that settlement in my original complaint for reference.

My original complaint stands and can be resolved if they either agree to refund me a difference of $3900 and allow the chargeback of $1500 for a total refund of $5400. Or I allow the charge of $1500 on my card and they refund me $5400.

I have worked with these people in the past for scammer issues. I quit the two phases and had no financial obligations and it didn’t go to collections. Now the worker I dealt with says I can’t cancel the two phases and they say I still owe a good chunk of money. I am not happy with them at all and will be canceling with them. I will block them from emails and phone calls because all they want is money regardless. They also didn’t respond to emails I sent for almost a month which I find extremely rude. I’m done with these people.

      Hello,

We apologize that you are dissatisfied with our Company, but upon review of this matter you have not cited any issues with our services. Rather your issue stems from owing an outstanding payment obligation after the Company performed various services to assist you with a highly sensitive matter. The payment obligations were clearly explained to you both times that you retained our services and we have contracts stating that we would be accepting a payment plan, with your signature on it. The first page of our contractual agreement even confirms that there is a fee associated with services. Therefore, you have received services and not fully paid your obligation. We respond to all emails in a timely fashion, however, due to the company being blocked we are unable to contact you for a resolution. It appears you are trying to evade your payment obligations by filing this illegitimate consumer review. Please feel free to reach out if you have any concerns with the service that was performed.

The transaction date with Digital Forensics Corp was made on July 2, 2023 in the amount of $500 and then another $500 on July 6, 2023 to expedite the process of extracting important deleted text messages off an iphone. This business assured me that they would be able to provide the informaton needed though meta data on this phone. On July 17, 2023 we were informed by, **** ***** our case manager, that the company was unsuccessful in obtaining any of the information that was needed, Upon recieving this information and very upset of spending $1000 on this promised transaction I called a few places, inclucing *****, to find out that this process is impossible on an iphone because ***** has encryption. ***** ensured us that once permently deleted texts are deleted there is no way to recover them. I have since placed phone calls and written in the online portal to Digital Forensics Corp to have my iphone sent back to me and have not heard back from them. I would like to be refunded for this companys deciet and misleading promise to provide me with the information that I paid a large fee for! I also would like my iphone returned. The case number for this transaction is ******.

My son was murdered by fentanyl poisoning. I sent out my sons phone *** laptop to retrieve deleted messages. I was assured that they could recover deleted messages. All I was given was texts *** info that was already visible on the devices. Honestly I think it's a scam. I don't believe this company has the ability *** just take advantage of people's situation. I feel a wasted $950 a complete waste *** disappointment

Thank you, I would like to add how irresponsible this company was with my sons devices. These are all I have left to remember him. They did not inform me that the package was shipped back to me. No tracking number *** no signature required! We were away for 5 days, when we arrived back home there was a box on our porch soaking wet like a wet rag from the rain containing my sons lap top *** iPhone. The devices were not wrapped in a plastic bag (like they instruct you to do when shipping to them) *** both devices were wet. I have not powered up the laptop as of yet, but the phone powers on but Im not sure if its suffered any damage. I can not believe how they treated these items so very careless *** irresponsible

We have zero record of ever doing business with this individual. I am the customer service manager and I have reviewed the calls. Our records indicate that nobody hung up on this client. She was placed on hold and the call disconnected.

Consumer states she inquired about the services previously but never got a good answer, so she declined. Now the company is contacting her after the fact trying to say they found her information on the dark web. She does not believe them and would like for them to stop calling and remove her from any call list.
