NVP WARRANTY is a Rip off. They refused to cancel the car warranty of 5 years contract even after the car had been sold. And there was no claim filed even for the 1 year and 2 months of the period that the contract was purchased.

According to our records, you contacted us yesterday regarding a cancellation of your Vehicle Service Contract, and we reviewed the cancellation eligibility in detail. Your contract does not qualify for cancellation, as it is well past the 30 day window for the reasons you stated. If you have any other questions, please contact us directly at 888-270-5835.

NVP auto warranty is an overall scam and is completely unethical in their operations. I purchased a 2013 Nissan Rogue and opted for the NVP three star warranty Package. A few months after when my axle busts off and leaves me stranded on the road they refuse to pay for the axle even when it clearly says it’s covered under their warranty. My mechanic says NVP denied the claim because the rubber cv axle boots are torn. My mechanic went on to tell me that cv axles fail 99% of the time because the boot is torn and that the industry has shifted from repairing cv axle boots to replacing entire cv axles. He states cv axle boots are best safely and properly installed at factories and those services are no longer performed in mechanic shops. Mind you my mechanic is not only a certified mechanic but also a mechanical engineer in the state of NJ so I take his advice seriously. My mechanic also goes on to state that NVP informed him that they would only cover the axle only if the joint would have failed internally. My mechanic informs me it’s possible for axles to fail in that fashion but they rarely do. My mechanic went on to say the joints in axles do fail but that’s mostly because the boots are torn and leak grease out and allow dust and debris to enter the joint, hence the necessity of replacing replacing the entire axle. I really am shocked on how I pay for this warranty to put in writing they can cover a component but try to weasel their way out of their responsibilities. An absolute shame.

We are truly sorry that your Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) was not able to provide assistance with your requested repairs and sincerely regret any frustration or inconvenience that you may have experienced as a result.
Please understand that although we will always do whatever we can to authorize the performance of repairs that may become necessary for our contract holders' vehicles, we must apply that coverage in accordance with all of the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the service contracts we administer. The VSC clearly states that coverage for CV axles only applies if the boots are not missing, torn or damaged. Your repair facility informed us that both of the CV axle boots were torn, thus invalidating the coverage for your axles. We sincerely regret not being able to apply coverage in this instance.

My car was dropped at a Repair Shop on Thursday FEB 16 and they were told that they needed an inspector to come out to review the claim of the steering going in my vehicle. Was told it would take 24-48 that was the inspector shows up then I’m told I need to wait another 24-48 hours for the then to review the findings before they can approve the work to be done on my vehicle I’ve been with out a car for 5 days not the counting the 2 days it will take to fix and the other day for the parts to come so this company is a joke

We do apologize for the delay on part of the third party inspection agency. Our service level for inspections is typically within the 24-48 (business) hour window. Unfortunately, there are certain instances where factors that are out of our control can cause unforeseen delays. In this case, the inspection for your vehicle was ordered on Thursday, 2/16. The 48 hour window would have placed this inspection timeline by end of day on Monday, 2/20. I am pleased to announce that the inspector was at your repair facility at approximately 3pm yesterday. The inspection report is currently being reviewed and we will be in touch with the repair facility later this morning with a claim determination. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience.

We are truly sorry that your Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) was not able to provide full assistance with your requested repairs and sincerely regret any frustration or inconvenience that you may have experienced as a result.
Please understand that although we will always do whatever we can to authorize the performance of repairs that may become necessary for our contract holders' vehicles, we must apply that coverage in accordance with all of the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the service contracts we administer.
According to our records, ******* ******* contacted our office to initiate a claim on your vehicle earlier today. We provided an authorization for payment to the shop for your alternator and corresponding labor charges up to the part and labor coverage limits that is outlined in your contract. We explained these differences to you in detail when you contacted our office earlier today.
Please refer to the contract terms excerpt below:
Replacement of covered parts will be made with original equipment manufacturer parts, non-original equipment manufacturer parts, re-manufactured parts, or used parts. The Administrator will provide claim and administrative services. Labor charges are based on industry accepted flat rates for time to repair or replace a covered component up to One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per hour. This Agreement provides benefits for mechanical breakdown of covered parts installed by the vehicle’s manufacturer, as those terms are defined below. Labor time will be calculated using a nationally published estimating guide.

Very very bad they give you a booklet telling you what it covers and then they deny your claim and tell you that it does not cover that when the problem it has is part of what it's supposedly covers they find a way around everything just to deny you and not pay so what are you buying a warranty for if it doesn't cover what it supposedly says it covers a very big scam

According to our records, the administrative office was made aware of the problems you were experiencing with your vehicle when the repair facility called in to start a claim on January 4, 2022. At that time, it was advised that the valve cover gaskets and the intake manifold gaskets are leaking oil. It was requested that these needed to be replaced. These components are only eligible for coverage for coolant leeks only. The claim was denied because the shop was unable to demonstrate that there was a coolant leak associated with the failed gaskets.
Under the Terms and Conditions of your contract, it states:
Power Train Coverage includes specific language for seals and gaskets which details your coverage:
SEALS & GASKETS: Cylinder head and intake manifold gaskets are covered for coolant leaks only. All other seals and gaskets are covered only when required in conjunction with the replacement of a Covered Component.
      1. DEFINITIONS:
“COVERED COMPONENT(S)” means those items specifically listed on Page 2 of this Agreement under POWERTRAIN that are original parts on Your Vehicle at the time of its purchase by You or like replacement parts meeting the manufacturer’s specification.
“MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN” means the inability of any covered part or component to perform the function(s) for which it was designed due to defects in workmanship or materials. Mechanical Breakdown does not include the gradual reduction in operating performance due to normal wear and tear.
Unfortunately, based on these facts and the level of coverage that was purchased , NVP was unable to afford coverage and authorize repairs to replace the timing chains.
Please understand that although we will always do whatever we can to authorize the performance of repairs that may become necessary for our contract holders' vehicles, we must apply that coverage in accordance with all of the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the service contracts we administer.

Terrible company. I purchased this extended warranty when buying a used vehicle, due to the miles on the engine and transmission. Payed almost a grand for them to tell me they couldn’t replace or fix anything. Only electrical or mechanical problems. I told them it was, she insisted it wasn’t, that it was an accident. Even if it was an accident, it’s still to be covered, yet they deny. Don’t waste you money.

Thank you for your email dated November 3, 2022, notifying us of the complaint your office has received from our contract holder in connection with some recent requests for repairs under the terms of her vehicle service contract [hereinafter “VSC”], referenced above. We have researched our records regarding this matter and ask that you accept this letter in response to the concerns the contract holder has expressed. Your patience in awaiting our reply has been very much appreciated.
According to our records, the administrative office was made aware of the problems you were experiencing with your vehicle when you called in on November 2, 2022. At that time you advised that you struck a deer with your vehicle. This caused the vehicle to jerk and the Check Engine Light came on.
At this time you were advised that we would be unable to assist as this was a collision and would be more appropriately addressed to your vehicle insurer.
Please note under the Terms and Conditions of the VSC, it explicitly states:
“MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN” means the inability of any covered part or component to perform the function(s) for which it was designed due to defects in workmanship or materials. Mechanical Breakdown does not include the gradual reduction in operating performance due to normal wear and tear.

We are truly sorry that the VSC was not able to provide assistance with the requested repairs and sincerely regret any frustration or inconvenience that you may have experienced as a result.

The fact you put, “acts of God” shows this company can’t be taken seriously. You’re at a 2 star for a reason. You ask for so much, but do so little. It’s how terrible businesses thrive. I get it. Maybe try expanding your coverage. I have wear and tear coverage, which the agent over the phone told me included accidents. All lies to up their sales. A dishonest company. Instead of responding, just cancel my coverage, instead of waiting for me to get a not from my insurance that the car is a loss. Stop being greedy. Don’t respond.

Please read this before buying a NVP warranty. It is nothing more than a scam. I’ve wasted an extreme amount of money on a policy which does nothing for me. Don’t be fooled by the glossy brochure. I left the car lot under the impression that this warranty would cover just about anything involving the engine. However, as soon as you have a repair and submit for payment, NVP will find every possible way around paying it. This part isn’t covered because of this part because of this blah blah blah. It is nothing more than legalized theft. I truly pray for those at the top of this company who are misleading, victimizing and abusing consumers. May they be convicted of the horrible damage they are doing. As a single Mom of three kids, I thought I was wise to purchase a warranty on a used car. Now I find myself with expensive car repair bills which NVP has avoided as well as the cost of a useless warranty. Of course, the company refuses to cancel or reimburse the policy once you figure out it’s worthless. Shameful and disgusting company and conduct.

      To Whom it May Concern:
Thank you for your email dated October 29, 2022, notifying us of the review your office has received from our contract holder in connection with some recent requests for repairs under the terms of her vehicle service contract [hereinafter “VSC”], referenced above. We have researched our records regarding this matter and ask that you accept this letter in response to the concerns the contract holder has expressed. Your patience in awaiting our reply has been very much appreciated.
According to our records, the administrative office was made aware of the problems you were experiencing with your vehicle when the repair facility called in a claim on October 2, 2022. They reported that the Check Engine Light was on, there was a heavy vibration when the vehicle was idling and there was noise from the engine while the vehicle was running. At that time, it was reported that the crank case vent valve system had failed creating an excessive vacuum leak. The requested repair was to replace the crank case vent breather/PCV valve, and the repair facility stated it was part of the valve cover. The PCV valve is not listed for coverage and the valve cover is only covered if damaged by an internally lubricated part.
On your Stated Component Contract, it states:
      COMPONENT COVERAGE 4-STAR COVERAGE:
Engine block, valve covers, timing cover and oil pan are covered only if damaged by an internally lubricated Covered Component.
Under the Terms and Conditions of your contract, 1. DEFINITIONS it states:
“COVERED COMPONENT(S)” means those items specifically listed under the section relating to coverage You have selected that are original parts on Your Vehicle at the time of its purchase by You or like replacement parts meeting the manufacturer’s specification.
COVERAGE: We agree to repair, replace, or reimburse You the cost of repairing or replacing a Covered Component on the Vehicle as a result of a Mechanical Breakdown arising out of the normal use of Your Vehicle, less Your Deductible, provided that We have given prior authorization before repairs begin.

or materials. Mechanical Breakdown does not include the gradual reduction in operating performance due to normal wear and tear.
Unfortunately, based on these facts and the level of coverage that was purchased, NVP was unable to afford coverage and authorize repairs to replace the valve cover.
We will always do whatever we can to authorize the performance of repairs that may become necessary for our contract holders' vehicles. However, we must apply that coverage in accordance with all the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions of the service contracts we administer.
