Damaged Our Copper Gutters – Incompatible Materials, Poor Installation Practices We hired LeafFilter to install gutter guards on our copper half-round gutters. From the start, the experience has been deeply disappointing and potentially damaging to our historic home. The installers used galvanized screws and galvanized mesh, which are completely incompatible with copper. This creates galvanic corrosion, a well-documented chemical reaction that causes premature failure of the gutter system. No one from LeafFilter flagged this as a problem or discussed material compatibility with us before beginning work. They also screwed directly into our copper gutters, which voids the gutter manufacturer’s warranty, compromises structural integrity, and severely detracts from the appearance of the copper. The white plastic components and mismatched mesh clashed visually with the copper — and were simply unacceptable for a system where aesthetics matter. When we questioned the process, LeafFilter insisted this installation was “standard” — despite clear industry guidance against mixing galvanized materials with copper. We stopped the installation after 40 feet (out of 160), but irreversible damage has already been done to that portion. If you have copper gutters, do not use LeafFilter. Their system is not designed for copper, and their practices may cause more harm than good. We are now left dealing with the cost of repairs and remediation.LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Would absolutely NOT recommend. The initial work was not completed properly and two areas continued to leak, and the work site was left with residue throughout the patio. To correct the leaks, a service call was scheduled with a four-hour window. Their technicians did not show and on a follow-up call they indicated that their notes said that no one was home at the time of the appointment, which was incorrect as two of us were there all day. Another service call was scheduled for several weeks out and the customer rep said that someone from the Cincinnati office would call to work out moving up the service date. No call was received from the Cincinnati office. The day of the scheduled second call, also a four-hour window, came and went without anyone showing or calling. A follow-up call to the service department indicated in their notes that someone was actually there two weeks prior on an unscheduled day and completed the work. No calls were made to advise that an unscheduled call was make nor to cancel the scheduled call. Additionally, hard to imagine the work was corrected when no one was here to point out the issue areas. In summary, poor workmanship followed by extremely poor customer service. Would fully avoid using.LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Had this company install filters early May and have contacted customer service 5 times since trying to get them to provide hard copies of the contract, warranty statement and invoice to no avail. Have yet to speak with anyone in management. Four of those contacts they said they would mail it out. Last call they tell me they cannot mail to contact main office. Of course no one answered that call. Additionally the salesman was so desperate he dropped the price to more that %75 of his initial quote. Started at close to $7000 and settled on nearly $1700. Also the one installer, (the crew as the salesman referred to) was about 20 years old and who knows if he did all he was supposed to do. Highly disappointed due to the lack of professionalism all around.LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Total rip off!!! Don’t be fooled by sales hype. Leaves sit on top of the guard causing water to avoid gutters and overflowing. We still have to climb on ladder to clean off leaves. Tried to activate warranty after 7 months. Company refuses to refund. Don’t buy this product!!!LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Leaf Filter is totally ineffective at keeping maple seed pods (commonly referred to as helicopters) and leaves from accumulating on top of the gutters. The sales representative repeatedly claimed that nothing sticks to the surgical stainless steel surface. The company also claims that they adjust the pitch of the gutters at installation in order to ensure that rain runs into the gutter and not overtop. Neither claim is accurate. The accumulation of maple seeds and leaves have basically made our gutters useless. The rain just runs over the debris accumulation and right over the top of the gutter directly to ground. We have had Leaf Filter on our house for 2 years now and have had the same problem each spring and fall. So much for not having to get on a ladder to clean out gutters. Now we have to get on a ladder to clean OFF Leaf Filter.LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Horrible experience dealing with this company, terrible customer service. My gutters bent and ripped from the house in less than a year and I received zero effort to remedy it. The warranty that came with it is effectively useless and when they came out to try and fix the gutters that werent installed properly, they told me it would be 550$ to fix it. the guttersedidnt make it a year...would not recommend this company to anyoneLeafFilter Gutter Protection

Incredibly pushy and they have poor internal communication with their own team members. Got a quote for gutters from a sales rep that was going around my neighborhood, during the quote I mentioned that my neighborhood would require HOA approval. No problem the rep said and I advised that I would call once the HOA approval was received so the gutters could be installed. Signed the contract, and then it has been a mess since then. Every day they would either call me at weird hours (7am or 10pm) asking when I can schedule the install or send installers to my house. The first time I told them that I'm still waiting on HOA approval and it usually takes a few days. They continued to send installers or call every day and none of them seemed to be aware of the HOA approval I was waiting on. Even worse one of the install managers was saying that they did work in my neighborhood and no one else mentioned the HOA requirement so we should just do it anyways. NO I'm not breaking HOA rules and risking a fine or having to have the gutters removed. What other homeowners do in my neighborhood is none of my business. After I did get HOA approval, the install went fine. When I went to follow the instructions on the install paperwork about having to register the warranty within 30 days, the website was useless and didn't match the instructions on the paperwork. Called the service number and they said the website is changing to an auto registration and they would email a copy of the warranty paperwork showing as registered. Never got the email. I'd advise against ever using these guys. Heck if it wasn't for the contract I'd probably have cancelled after the 2nd time they tried sending installers to my house without the HOA approval.LeafFilter Gutter Protection

I wish I had read more reviews before purchasing. The sells person was great but the installation was not as promised. I did not realize that the installers was not their employee. I was told that my gutters would be pitched, but I can't see where they were. I was told an inspector would come to review the work. It has been two weeks and no one has come. I had to wait 3 days for extenders that I paid for. I really thought I had researched companies well but maybe not. I'll see how well what they did do works and how the warranty and their further customer service holds up.LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Job install 2023. Big push Was towards senior citizens falling off flats and cleaning their gutters. I noticed recently this company has changed its selling tactics. I have sent emails regarding the shingle grit that has become stuck in our Leaf Filter system. These people want to charge $95 to come out and clean it out. The whole point of getting this system was to help out senior citizens, but yet they want to charge us money. I also heard the same sales tactic from the salesman that Leaf Filter had an access of product and that is why they could give us a break on the price. I feel taken advantage of, don't use these people, because they prey on senior citizens. When I contacted Leaf Filter this year about the shingle grit, I was actually asked about the shingle grit and the other gutters. Are you kidding me? Like I'm supposed to get up on a ladder and check it out? I sent pictures of what I saw from one room. I can only assume there is shingle grit in the other units. These people only care about one thing: taking advantage of senior citizens, stealing your money, and giving you the runaround about whether or not they will take care of your gutters for free. Oh, and by the way when I contacted Leaf Filter to get some resolution this year, one of the attendance had another email address that was still connected with Leaf Filter. Go figure. Do not use these people. They are unethical.LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Very unprofessional and demanding and rude people, they will not listen to you and try to get you to buy something you dont want and tell you that they professionals in the area and will not take. No for an answer. And call you all the time to get you to buy. And tell you not to talk to anyone else about the price cuts they try to offer. As far as they a rating in the BBB, I dont see how they can get that when they are very rude and will not take no for an answer no matter what the case may be.LeafFilter Gutter Protection
