Horrible customer service. I ordered shocks for my truck and they have now sent me the wrong item twice. The first order they sent me 4 front shocks, I had called them to get the part numbers before ordering but they still charged me to return the items. The second order has the correct part number on the packing list but the shocks are not for my truck at all, after calling the manufacturer I found out Jegs sent me shocks for a car. I called today to return them and was told I would have to pay gain to return them. Jegs policy is to make their customers pay for Jeags mistakes. I have asked to speak to a supervisor and have been on hold for 50mins now, the customer service rep refused to give me their name so I can't even fill out Jegs' internal review system. Thank you for reaching out - I do see the orders in questions. The first order was for 4 of PN *****. They were ordered on a mobile device. I do see you returned 2 of these and we have issued you credit - I did refund the processing fee as a courtesy today.

I purchased two wheels on 09/01/2023 for $225.48 plus $15.78 SC sales tax. I returned the two wheels on 09/12/2023 and received a credit of $209.50. This total is minus a processing charge of $7.99 per wheel. I'm ok with that but they didn't refund the sales tax I paid. When I questioned the customer service representative, she informed me that they don't refund sales tax charged for products purchased from out of state. I never heard of this and I questioned other vendors from out of state that I've dealt with and they assured me that they refund the total price paid including sales tax. Therefore, Jeg's owes me a total of $224.17 that includes the sales tax I paid.Business Response

Thank you for reaching out. When a fee is assesed on a return, the state you reside in does not refund JEGS the sales tax, so in turn, we are not able to refund it to you. Since there was a processing fee levied on the order, we are unable to refund the sales tax amount due to your local laws surrounding taxation.

I am rejecting this response because: If that's they're answer then why does Summit Racing Equipment, who is also based in Ohio, refund the entire purchase price including sales tax? When I spoke to a customer service representative at Summit Racing Equipment, they said that they never heard of this requirement of not refunding the sales tax on a return. I understand that we're talking about a small dollar amount here but how in the world does Jeg's get away with this illegal business practice? Please investigate further. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: As I've said before, I don't have a problem with the return fee. It's not refunding the sales tax that I have a problem with. Summit Racing Equipment, which is also based in Ohio, refunds sales tax, so why doesn't Jeg's? Is Jeg's the only vendor that doesn't get the sales tax back from SC???

Hi *******,
We've issued you a refund.
This issue lies withing Ohio law, and similarly, SC Law. When a merchant (JEGS) charges a fee on a return to the customer (You) the sales tax is not refunded to the Merchant to be refunded to the customer by the state. Similar to how why you purchase an item with a core, you pay tax on the core, but when you return it, you dont receive the tax back on the core charge.
Since you arent receiving a full refund from us, due to the return processing fee, the sales tax is not able to be refunded.
In this case, we've refunded both of the processing fees as well as the sales tax for this order.Thank you,

I had purchased a Jegs Racing Jacket on 8/23/23 order number ********. Everything went smoothly until It was stolen off my porch. Before I contacted Jegs. I reached out to my neighbors to see if they had picked it up for me or if they had seen anyone suspicious in the neighborhood. I called Jegs and told them about the situation. I DID NOT ASK FOR A REFUND because I needed the jacket to go racing. I asked for a simple replacement which I didn’t think was going to be a problem because I’ve been a long time customer at Jegs. Jegs said they weren’t responsible for theft and told me to contact the shipper Fed Ex. I contacted FedEx and filed a Claim. Fedex told me to Contact the Merchant to discuss about getting a replacement or simply get a refund. I called Jegs again and the Lady on the phone told me to file a chargeback with my bank. Here we are on September 17,2023 I’m still without a jacket and I’m out of 130.50 bucks. Unbelievable for a situation to continue to go on like this.Business Response

In most cases, JEGS does not cover theft as it occurs after a sucessful FedEx delivery and the responsibilty to retrieve the package would be transistioned to the package receipient. I ordered a cylinder head from jegs auto parts 8/14/23. The website said it would ship out the same day. A week later and no shipping information, I reach out to customer service to be informed the order won’t ship until sept sometime. I asked to cancel the order. The following week I received a shipping conformation from ups for the cylinder head. Again, I called customer service and was told they would have the shipment stopped. A week goes by 8/29/23 and I called asking about the status of my refund to be informed that the cylinder head would be delivered to me tomorrow on the 30th. Then I would have to ship the head back and wait for it to be received for my refund to be processed. Skeptical I looked up the tracking number to see that the order was to be delivered on the 30th to the shipper. NOT to me. I have been on hold for 30 minutes again trying to finally cancel this order and hope to get my money back. As an automotive professional this type of service is not acceptable. I will be contacting my financial institution to dispute the charge if the refund is not received by the end of the week. Never have I dealt with such incompetence from a company of this size. Bought wheels and tires for my car, they don't fit and they say its my responsibility to make sure they fit even though I received an email from company saying they will fit my application, now they won't return my calls or emails, im just asking for them to replace 2 tires that rub the frame on my original unmolested 85 elcamino, they told me it was my responsibility to know if they will fit my car.Business Response

At this time, we are not able to refund or exchange the wheels due to those issues. When you place an order for wheels and tires it is critical you measure your application and ensure fitment is proper prior to installing as once the tire is mounted on the wheel, they are not returnable under any circumstance.

I purchased an item (replacement radio for a 1967 Mustang) which clearly states in the item header, description and use guide that it fits my car. My car is completely stock and the item does not fit. The shaft of the radio are too short to install the knobs, which renders the radio useless. I have reached out to Jegs 6 times, only once ever speaking to anyone. (2 email, 4 calls. Wait time was well in excess of 30 minutes) I was informed I can return the item but must pay for its return shipping ($15). Since the error is theirs I do not understand why I should be penalized for there error

Ordered a set of 4 wheels two were damaged and returned and refunded. Ordered replacement for the two damaged wheels and those arrived damaged as well. Returned the second order and have not been refunded funds for the second set. Contacted customer support after waiting an hour on the phone, they said it was because they hadn’t been checked back into their inventory even though they said they had received the second return. It’s been over 60 days. I just don’t have the time to deal with their wait times and the run around. Please help this is a $400 problem and I’m sure their content to just wait it out for me to give up.Business Response

I tried countless times trying to call Jegs. To no avail. I called to place an order then I got a person. So they wanted to charge shipping fee of 14.00 to ship my item back, I told them I'd just bring it back. So I returned the stereo to Jegs in Delaware Ohio. Since I ordered through paypal I was told it would take 3-5 business days to be returned to my account. It was a stock stereo for a 2013 jeep wrangler. It did not work. The customer service is very poor when u try to return something. I would like a refund for 196.86.Business Response
