I canceled in September 2023 due to their bad customer service & numerous hidden fees that were not disclosed to me when I started. I felt scammed, so I paid what they said I owed & cancelled. Was told account was closed. It's July 2024 & they still billing me trying to get money! I've never "supposedly owed" so much to a company that has done absolutely no service for me or that I do not have a business relationship or wish to for that matter! These folks are ridiculous! I've called numerous times over previous months to get them to leave me alone. They're still sending emails & calling. Now my office is simply ignoring them! No answer to calls no reply to emails. No more money going out! NOTHING! If dead silence doesn't send them the message that we're done being scammed I suppose nothing will. They'll never receive a response EVER!

      DO NOT USE THEM
I honestly don't know how they still in business giving the continuous errors, bug system, luck of proper customer support and the fact that each problem need to be contacted about repeatedly.
Luckily I was with them only 3 months but they well deserved a bad review to help other business owners from waisting valuable time and chase after them to do the service they getting paid for

They have had a blatant disregard for our state's tax filing laws and did not follow them by continuously submitting our taxes by mail and not electronically. They have made numerous mistakes on our account in the last year and their customer service was sorely lacking when trying to get these problems fixed. We are no longer with Paychex.

Paychex royally screwedup our employee W2 forms. Amended the forms 3 times only to ask my company what we needed to be fixed. They then had to be advised on the process of amended a form 941 and NYS 45 form. They aboslutely do not understand what they are doing and are winging it.
When the entire W2 issue was brought to Paychex's attention, they told us that they "googled it" and it looked right to them. It took 3 months to get someone on the phone to admit there was a mistake.

If I could give zero or negative stars I would! Terrible company! Still being sent invoices after after canceling in JANUARY. We have documentation and emails showing we have tried to cancel several times. This is after months of trying to cancel our workers comp through Paychex. They are terrible at returning emails. Customer service in any aspect is horrible. One of the worst companies I have ever worked with! Save your time and money by NOT using this company. Terrible, terrible, terrible!

We are extremely disappointed with the service we received from Paychex Inc. Their lack of transparency regarding fees and their poor customer support have led to a situation where we were unfairly charged, deductions were taken out of my employees accounts and never appropriated to the correct account and now my employees don't have insurance that they thought they were paying for. Their employee told us this was a turn-key solution for insurance and once signed up, we wouldn't have to do anything. Paychex management will not take any accountability for their mistake and now have lost a customer. Unfortunately, they don't care. Not even one phone call from their offices.

Paychex paid two employees who were fired a year earlier, one with a paper check which I caught and tore it up. The other one went direct deposit, to a employee that hasnt worked for me in over 14 months.I complained and demanded Paychex put that money back into my account. They said thats my problem and it was up to me to get that money back from a terminated employee. I disagree. I told Paychex supervisors, managers, they all said someone would get back to me and no one ever did. So I told I wll not be using Paychex after the first of the year, until they pay me back. They called me every two weeks I said where is my money and I said no payroll until you pay me. So they Billed me every month for the last 5 months. I call them I get hung up on, no one calls me back, no one answers emails.
Then a employee has the state come after me for sick pay not being listed anywhere on his pay stubb and cost me $2000.00 in legal fees. Now they owe me the direct deposit they made into a terminated employees account, plus the monthy "variable" fees they debits out of my account the last 5 months. . When I asked about the varable fees they has some story and told me they were non refundable. NON refundable, they were not supposed to charge me and they have the nerve too tell me they are non refundable. They owe me the direct deposit they made to the terminated employee, they owe me the last 5 months in fees and they owe me for the legal fees I had defending myself when they as a professional payroll company failed to follow the state of caifornia payroll requirments sick pay acrual. That is a breach on contract. Im out $4000 they hide, they dont return calls, they dont respond to emails. Mabie they will respond to a lawsuit. It does seem they have a few of them after googleing "paychex lawsuits" there are litterally dozens of them. I hope they read this and do something before I add one more to the heap.

If you run a healthcare company and need a reliable payroll provider never and I mean never use Paychex as your payroll provider. It’s been a complete nightmare since I started with them. Paychex consistently will debt your account for fees that they shouldn’t charge for. You have to do internal audits of your accounts after every payroll to ensure accuracy, with those audits you will see overages every payroll.

We are extremely disappointed with the service we received from Paychex Inc. Their lack of transparency regarding fees and their poor customer support have led to a situation where we were unfairly charged.
Specifically, we encountered the following issues:
Unclear billing practices: The charges on our invoices were not clearly explained, making it difficult to understand what we were being billed for.
Duplicate charges: We were charged twice for a payroll service due to an error on their part.
Hidden fees: We were charged an urgent delivery fee for a direct deposit that was not completed on time, and we were not informed about this possibility beforehand.
Unresponsive customer service: Despite contacting customer support and explaining the situation, we were met with rudeness and ultimately received no resolution.
Broken promises: We were initially promised a refund via email for their mistake, but this refund was not issued.
These practices are unacceptable and raise concerns about their business model. We believe this situation warrants further investigation by the appropriate authorities.
Employees Anna F** and Jennifer K G**** are unresponsive and are not able to answer about the refunds that are provided in writing. I would like further investigation on this.

I have been working with PAYCHEX to do a reduction of wages for salary optimization for a company I work with. In order to do this, we used paychecks as a service since we were using them for payroll, and we asked them to reduce shareholder wages. The furthest email I could track back was dated December 20 as when we requested this work to be done. It is now May 12 and the work is still not done during this process. we had to work one on one directly reviewing work at every step of this journey every step we've had to correct their work. We have been in zoom meetings and endless endless, endless emails and endless wasted time going over their incorrect work. Nobody takes responsibility for anything that they do nobody acknowledges that they don't review any of their work and again no apologies. We have clearly directed them to do everything through corrections and they can't even manage our corrections. We have to correct corrections of our corrections. That is absolutely ridiculous. Please never work with this company and if you are working with them, you should leave. It's not worth the time and effort and energy. They are an incompetent company who do not know what they're doing. They rely entirely on software have no working papers or tie outs and Who do not review their work or look at anything that they do and nor do they care they pass blame and do not have ownership of anything that they do. It's always someone else's fault , they also have agents who are not knowledgeable enough to help us otherwise they would have asked for help from their own team nor us, we have done every correction for them in this process because their work was wrong, all of their work since day one has been wrong, stay away from paychecks.
