I started a subscription with DAZN on September 17, 2023. I do not remember which platform I used to subscribe, it may have been a mobile browser, my laptop, or through the mobile app. When I subscribed I selected a 'monthly saver' plan at $19.99 per month + tax ($22.59 CAD total). I do not remember what the options were but I selected the one that said 'monthly' and I remember it said 'cancel anytime'. I paid for the subscription for 6 months however I do not use any of the content and so I cancelled this month (February 2024). However, it says my subscription remains active with monthly payments until Sept 17, 2024.When I contacted DAZN customer service they said I subscribed for an annual plan and therefore I can cancel the subscription but that payments will continue until the 12 months is up. I indicated several times that I must have done this in error or unknowingly but they insist that I agreed to an annual contract. They are not able to provide a copy of the terms that I agreed to and also cannot provide a copy of the confirmation email which states the plan I subscribed to. They did not provide any option to pause the contract or buy out the remaining months.They claim that the registration page clearly explains this was an annual plan however I do not believe that they cannot provide any evidence of this. Most importantly, I have indicated that I am unhappy with the service, do not use it, did not knowingly agree to an annual plan, and would like to cancel immediately because I cannot afford to continue. They have done nothing to support other than remind me if I do not pay I am subject to additional fees and collection agencies.It seems very unethical that a business can trick users into subscribing for a plan and offer no alternative options whatsoever when they indicate that they would like to cancel. I would like to see my cancellation effective immediately with no further payments.Customer Answer

I subscribed to DAZN's *** Game Pass product for $14.99 in January to watch the *** playoffs. I then experienced numerous issues, including streams not being available or being too slow to watch. I've asked the company for a refund multiple times, and their only response is that using the product at all makes me ineligible for a refund... in other words, clicking on a stream that doesn't work or is extremely choppy makes me ineligible. Absolute rip-off and waste of money. I'll just stream illegally from now on.Customer Answer

I paid for an event on 8/06/2023 for $67.26. I have been getting billed from Dazn for a supposed subscription since that date and only paid for a one time event. Since 9/6/2023 I have been billed for $22.05 every month. I contacted Dazn and they said I subscribed to their service and will not refund amount and they will continue to bill me until 8/06/2024. Dazn tried to bill me three times on 2/6/2024. I tried to cancel and delete account but the site/app does not let you. I ask to resolve/delete account.Initial Complaint

Tried cancelling my subscription in January 2024 and they continued to bill me in Feb 2024. Their cancellation policy which is written states you may cancel at any time. I would like my refund for the February 2024 payment and confirmation of no further billing.Initial Complaint

December 23rd 2023 I purchased the 'flexible pass' for $29.99 monthly so that I could watch the Football game. I did not purchase anything else nor did I sign up for the Pay Per View (***). When I looked at my bank statement I noticed that I was charged $79.08 When I called to ask why they stated that I had ordered ***. However, I did not receive a receipt or code to access ***, nor did I purchase it. I only purchased the monthly subscription package. I only want them to refund the *** portion and they told me that they would not do it. I am frustrated and have tried working with them. At this point it seems like theft. DAZN charged my credit card ****** without proper notice. I tried contacting the business and there is no way to contact them via email or phone. The chat system is an automated system. I forwarded my request for refund and cancellation and did not receive a response. I contacted them via chat on 1/25/24 stating I am filing a proper complaint with better business bureau and then, the automated chat transferred to a live chat person. The charge was made on August 19, 2023 for the amount of ******. I requested this be refunded and cancelled on that day. The chat rep said it was too late for a refund.Charge made 8/19/2023 Refund requested 8/19/2023 Case number opened on 8/19/2023 #******** Note: other clients were refunded the full amount after their charge date. I did not authorize extra charges. This is a claim involving deceptive business practices perhaps rising to the level of fraud. As the BBB can no doubt see from the many other complaints against this company for the identical issue, this company advertised a "monthly saver plan" that you could "cancel any time," but this plan was actually a yearly plan which you can not cancel at any time. They want to bill me for 11 more months of future service, which I did not, and do not, consent to.Their own website states: "If you are on a monthly plan and pay DAZN directly, then you will start a 30-day notice period from the day you cancel. If you are on an annual plan or pay via a third party, then you can cancel at any time. Your subscription will end after your billing cycle. I was billed again on 1-23-24, so that was my last billing cycle, but they are refusing to cancel future recuring payments. Per my receipt and my account on their website it says I am on the following plan: "PAYMENT PLAN:Monthly Saver ($19.98 / Month).But apparently, despite all of this, DAZN apparently will continue to take money from my bank account in the amount of $19.98 plus tax every month through 12/22/24. I have tried to cancel on their website, via their online chat, and via escalation in back and forth e-mails, but they continue to refuse to cancel my subscription. This is an extremely deceptive and fraudulent practice. Moreover, this is a service, not a good, so I have yet to have that future service rendered, and they still want to be paid for something that they have not yet given me. I am not asking for a refund, I am just asking they take no further money from me as of today's date, 1/24/24. Further, I only signed up so I could see a pay-per-view (being enrolled in a plan was required to order the ***** which I had to pay over $40.00 for separately. Apparently for DAZN, Pay-PER-VIEW and MONTHLY actually means "pay for a year/yearly."Thank you.Customer Answer

I received several e-mails from the Company, but none referenced the BBB compliant. Each was from a different person and each refused to cancel my membership. The e-mails seemed boilerplate as well.

****************************************** ******************************************* I had to watch one match for work on DAZN.com or near December 16 2023. The only way to view it was to sign up for an account that was advertised at $19.99/mo plus in order to buy $40 pay per view. I canceled the account **************************** after the (very disappointing one punch) fight. To my surprise, today $19.99 was take out of my account. **************** stonewalled me and closed the chat when I requested to speak with their manager. At no point did I see any indication that there was some binding obligation when creating an account. I am not concerned so much with the money that was swindled from me as much as their unethical predatory business practices. Everyone who gets mislead and douped into sighing up ends up paying at least $120 if not $240, that is if they manage to get DAZN to let them cancel. In many cases they continue to reactivate subscriptions, bleeding ***************, according to some of the blogs/reviews I read. If you block them from your financial institution they just collect from a different name or number. This must be illegal or there must be some recourse. Please destroy them. I signed up for a month subscription and found out I had been tricked into a year contract with no means for cancellation. I reached out to customer service and they were unhelpful. I tried to cancel my subscriptions but was still charged $20.77 a month for 3 months. I want my money back and this contract nullified!Customer Answer
