  Services Can Be Helpful, But I Have *** Coverage That Talkspace Accepts, and Yet They Refuse to Submit the Claims My 15-year old needed some help at the beginning of this school year, and my employer offers 8 counseling sessions via Employee Assistance Program; Talkspace is a covered provider. My 15-year old kid set up a Talkspace account with the *** code in-hand. My kid had 6 helpful sessions in total before it was clear that we were getting billed $124 per session for sessions that were expected to be fully covered by ***. It turns out that my kid incorrectly navigated the talkspace system and the sessions were billed to our medical insurance (we have no mental health coverage at all under medical). Talkspace refuses to re-bill the sessions to the *** because their "system will not allow it," which I find to be a very frustrating reason when they created their system. I am beside myself as I was expecting this help to be at no cost, and now Talkspace is regularly telling my kid that $744 is owed. I have attempted to escalate the issue through their customer service tickets, which got me one level up, but no further, and through their phone number, which did not allow direct escalation - instead the ticket was "flagged" for a supervisor, which was basically a dead end. I have coverage for the sessions, but Talkspace refuses to submit the claims in a way that will leverage the coverage. Very very frustrating.

  I'm sure there are wonderful professionals on **********, but my experience with this particular therapist was awful. If you are in ********* I would not use therapist, **** TOWER. My experience with this therapist was horribly traumatic. The actual therapy with Ms Tower was more traumatic than the concerns that brought me to therapy in the first place. She could not have cared less. She is the epitome of someone who is in this field for the money. I strongly recommend that if you're looking for a good therapist that you seek care with someone else.

  While the individual providers are good people It has been my experience that this company is for profits and not for people. I did like the therapist that I worked with. However, the billing practices at this company are highly suspect. You get billed hundreds of dollars for sessions even if you don't use them. They call it a "subscription". When the therapist you are seeing says that every other week or once a month is a good amount of time between sessions the billing should reflect that. Although it is ultimately my responsibility to keep up with my bank account and billing, I do feel taken advantage of. I have tried to call and see if there is something that can be done about this, the phone number is not easy to find and once you do they leave you on hold and then say that there is no representative available after you've wasted you time.

  Talkspace is such a let down! Saw two different therapists and both were pretty mediocre at best. One just didn't seem invested in our sessions or full engaged while the other just didn't seem to have the skill or experience. It felt intentionally predator when it came to billing. They have a screen that gives you your estimated out of pocket every time you schedule a session and it always said my out of pocket should have been $0. Based on that information I continued sessions. Then several months later after I've racked up several sessions, they finally bill my insurance and it turns out it was $50 a session as my copay. And this is for a insurance company that is in network with them. So I went from thinking I had zero cost to me to getting a bill for $600 for all my sessions one day. So don't trust the estimated OOP they give you! Mine was WAY off. And maybe don't schedule a second visit until they bill your insurance to see what it actually is. I know claims can take a while to process but they took a while to submit them which is what felt predator to me. Finally customer service is almost non-existent. Any time I've had a question you have to submit a form online. No one you can speak to. Information to basic questions is not available either. Their process for release of information is super laborious and time consuming. Doesn't seem compliant with the Cures Act if you ask me.

  Talkspace discriminates against licensed creative arts therapists (LCAT) in ************** by refusing to accept them on their platform. We LCATs have met the same, if not more rigorous, requirements that LCSWs, LMFTs, etc. are required to meet for licensure. They have been unable to provide any answer (legitimate or not) to my inquiry asking why they do not accept this license. If you are in ************** and are curious about working with an LCAT, use another platform or do a ****** search.

  This is scam. The online appointment did not work and then they charged me a $125 fee for an appointment that never took place because it did NOT work. SCAM SCAM SCAM

  Company is a complete scam. Charged me over $200.00 for a one hour session with a therapist that wasnt even responding to me for the majority of the hour. Stay away from this company!

  Do not use this company. Mental health Provider responded to my chat therapy once a week and billed me over $200. I asked for an itemized detail bill to figure out how the provider came up with that amount and if Im being billed by word count , time invested , etc. I disagree with being billed that sum with the low quality service provided. I was ignored by Talkspace for 15 days with my following up every 5-7 days . Did not resolve my issue of requesting an itemized receipt and then disregard my request of an Itemized receipts with sorry you didnt like your experience . We will see if Ill ever get the itemized receipt or continuously ignored and gaslighted . Yes. Mental health provider is ignoring my request and gaslighting me into believing that Im being unreasonable for requesting how I was being billed
