They changed the terms of this website. Reward points originally could be used to purchase gift cards. Then they switched it to a lottery system for a handful of gift cards. There is no way to verify Gift cards that have been awarded to people. It feels like a giant scam.Initial Complaint

I am not hopeful there will be a resolution, but my complaint is the same as many others - Drop is taking our information and not letting us redeem our rewards. I have over $100 in rewards, and of course you can only even attempt to redeem these rewards once a week on Thursdays. I have tried logging on at 12:58 PM, 12:59 PM, 1:00 PM (the rewards are supposedly available at 1 PM) - it does not matter, I always get stuck at some point of the process. Today, I was stuck on the "claiming gift card... hold tight, this might take a minute" from 1 PM to 1:28 PM. It only rejected me once I switched windows from the app to another page and back. The "Just missed it!" page is also insulting given that I try to claim RIGHT when the gift cards supposedly drop, and it spins a little to make it SEEM like maybe I might get a gift card... and then oh no, just missed it! I didn't just miss it, they are just not giving out gift cards.Customer Answer

This business uses your data to allow you to earn points. I used to use it religiously. After the bank issue a few years ago they will not provide rewards except on Thursdays at 10am pst. Ive tried for years now to get my points out with success 1 time. I want to be cashed out so I can be done with this app. Since my data was already collected for the points I have earned already. I want to be cashed out so I can delete this account. This app went downhill and now seems to be a scam. I have ****** points.Customer Answer

I have been trying since May 2024 to use my ******* points which is equivalent to $774.00.I follow the guidelines each week, to log in a few minutes before 1pm and click on different gift cards each week to redeem. Each week it says just missed it. I have reached out to Drop at least 10 times for assistance but I either receive nothing and they say so sorry.Customer Answer

The app sells your personal data (based on purchases, spending, activity on certain sites, etc.) with the promise that it will turn into "points" that can be used to redeem gift cards. The gift cards are only available for about a 30 second window once a week. I have tried multiple weeks in a row, joining the waiting room only 2 seconds after it has opened, selecting gift cards for redemption, and it is never available. I don't think they actually redeem anything anymore. They are selling, thus profiting, off of personal consumer data with the promise that we would get something back in return. Now, we don't. This is unacceptable as I have amassed over $130 worth in Drop "points" with no way of redeeming (would take a minimum of 5 weeks, if the weekly redemption process ever worked). Drop is using/selling/profiting off of our personal data without allowing us to cash in on the rewards promised.Initial Complaint

This companys app tracks your data in exchange for points that you can use to redeem gift cards. It used to be easy. Once you had enough points, you could redeem for a gift card of your choice. About 2 years ago, they changed to this drop format where the gift cards will only drop on thursday afternoons and an extremely limited amount of points are available to be redeemed by users. Once theyre gone, you have to wait till next Thursday. Its like a never ending carousel. I have had enough points (*****) for a $25 giftcard now for as long as I can remember. I try every Thursday and Ill select a giftcard and theyll say theyre sold out, barely even a minute after the points have dropped. They are scamming me and probably hundreds of thousands of others. They make money off our data but dont want to pay us.Customer Answer

Ive been a dedicated Drop user for over five years, but ever since the company changed its gift card redemption policy, *** been unable to redeem a single point so nice this gift practice was implemented. Im entitled to over $140 in rewards, yet for nearly two years, Ive had zero success despite following the apps instructions to the letter.Every Thursday at 1 PM EST, I join the queue five minutes early and attempt to redeem as soon as gift cards become available. Still, without fail, Im met with a sold out message almost instantly. This pattern strongly suggests that the app is intentionally limiting access to rewards, while continuing to display users points as if theyre usablewhich theyre not. This is a deceptive business practice. Drop encourages users to shop through their platform and link their financial accounts with the promise of reward redemption, yet the vast majority of users are blocked from accessing those rewards. Customer support has been entirely unhelpful, offering the same generic response to keep trying at 12:55 PM each weekdespite the fact that it clearly doesnt ******* this point, Drops operations feel more like a scam than a legitimate rewards platform. Users deserve honesty, transparency, and the ability to redeem the rewards theyve earned. This company needs to be held accountableCustomer Answer

This app has failed to deliver its rewards for almost 2 years now. The app claims to "drop" gift cards every Thursday and it has been literally almost 2 years since I last was able to redeem anything. This is a typical data mining company using our financial information to "reward" us with points and gift cards but then never actually resolving whatever the actual issues that prevent reward redemption to be completed to come to fruition. I have contacted them repeatedly with screenshots, screen recordings and emails to ask for a resolution and have gotten nothing to genuinely resolve the matter. I want to be sure this app is no longer used and is taken off the App Store if my points are no longer able to be redeemed. This is deceptive and we should have transparency to the predatory practices with our data and how it is used. I have over ****** points currently in this app that have been inaccessible since the structure of the redemption changed last year. I want the points to be redeemed and surrendered to me as they are shown they are supposed to be at a minimum, and if that can't be achieved, I am removing all my data and permissions and making sure this app is known for being a deceptive and shady company's organization with such practices.Customer Answer

This is a company that seeks to discover your credit card/shopping patterns with the promise of rewards. They previously had issued gift cards for points. Now gift cards are possible to obtain. They reportedly release a smallamount on Thursdays at 1 oclock, which are promptly sold out. Obtaining a reward is next to impossible.
