This company is scamming people and has access to their credit card information. The app crashes upon opening despite reinstallation. I have $125+ worth of points with no way to redeem them as theyve made it impossible. A class action lawsuit will be the next step.Initial Complaint

As mentioned in previous complaints, *** accumulated almost ******* Drop points and have tried endlessly to redeem them for gift cards. I even have an alert setup so Im logged into the app in advance of the drop, but that isnt enough. At 1:00:03PM EST today the gift cards were already sold out for the 10th week in a row?! This makes no sense! *** spent hours completing surveys to earn these points that essentially have NO VALUE anymore, which is both a SCAM AND FRAUDyou advertise compensation for taking surveys but make it impossible to receive the compensation. I will be reporting the Drop app scam to all relevant agencies. Users beware!!Customer Answer

I had points that I could redeem for a gift card. On Oct 5 I used ****** points to redeem for a $25 ulta gift card. The points were immediately from my account and I was supposed to receive in an email a $25 gift card. I received the gift card and went to use it Oct 8 at ulta. It had a zero balance. I contacted drop and after 10 days of email they responded and said they couldnt help me once the points leave my account and I receive a gift card. I cant believe that is the case. $25 is a lot to lose and they cant help me.Customer Answer

Its become a scam app. You are supposed to be able to turn points into gift cards. It used to be an easy process. Now they make you do it at a certain time on a certain day. And every time that time and comes they are sold out within seconds. Everyone I have talked to about it has never received their gift cards and we all get the same message. They arent releasing any gift cards to anyone. They are only collecting our data through credit and debit cards. They used to allow gift cards all the time. Then they got bought out and now they are holding our points and not allowing us to redeem any. Its a big scam!!Customer Answer

It used to be easy to redeem points for gift cards with Drop. I used to do it with no problem at all. I recently just banked over 50k in points, which is enough to get $50 in gift cards. When I went to redeem them, the system must've changed since my last redemption because it said they were sold out of gift cards. I never saw that message before. It also said that they will be available again at Thursday at noon. I thought this was odd. I searched online about it and saw lots of unhappy customers complaining about the change and about how it's next to impossible to claim a gift card because the sell out in under a minute.I tried getting a gift card today. I set my alarm so I'd be ready to claim it right when the clock strikes 12. At first, the cards weren't available. So I kept going back into the screen until the 'redeem' button showed up. Once it did I immediately pressed the button thinking I for sure got a gift card; there was no possible way for me to be any quicker than that. Nope. Just got a message saying that they are sold out and to try again next Thursday. That won't happen.I see Drop responding to similar complaints saying that they have been "making improvements to their system" for their customers. Only making gift cards available once a week for under a minute is decidedly not an improvement from how it used to be. I have unlinked my cards from the Drop app and have made peace with the fact that my 50k points will never be redeemed. I encourage everyone else to do the same. This company is clearly running out of money. Don't give them anymore free data.Customer Answer

I am unable to collect my money earned on the Drop app. Money is made payable every Thursday at noon in the form of a $25 gift card. Cards are sold out immediately at noon. I have attempted to collect my owed gift cards every Thursday at noon only to be told they are sold out.Initial Complaint

I have been using the Drop app for a few years now. Everything worked as expected until something changed this year. I can no longer convert my points earned to gift cards, as promised. The last time I was able to redeem was in January 2023. In August, I contacted drop support regarding the issue. I used to be able to redeem points, covert to gift cards whenever goals were reached. But they have changed over to only allowing redemption once a week. I get error messages every time that gift cards are sold out, to try again the next week. Yet they are sold out within a matter of seconds. Now seeing that others are experiencing the same, I imagine this app is about to go out of business like so many others have done. Taking my time and earned money with them. Shame on you Drop! Others need to be warned and we need assurance that our PII will not be sold or shared. I have 60k points which equates to $60 and I would like to receive it.Initial Complaint

Drop is a cash back app that you link your financial cards to and in turn receive points that can be cashed out via brand gift cards (ie Amazon, ****************** once a week on Thursdays at 1:00 pm EST for $25. I have about $70 in points to cash out and have not been able to redeem these points since April 2023. *** sent several report tickets to the Drop support team, only to be told I should try restarting the app or keep trying and Ill eventually get one. The gift cards sell out in under ************************************************* that timeframe. Ive been trying weekly for 6 months. Many users are encouraging others to report this business to the BBB, the *** and theres talks of a class action lawsuit building. Id like to unlink my cards, delete my data from this app and delete the app itself to be done with this, but I dont want to throw away money. Business model built upon the idea that we give our credit card information and link our cards so they can monitor our purchases, and we receive a meager credit for select purchases in return. They have made it so that there is a ***** second window ONCE WEEKLY where this can be redeemed for gift cards only, but the past 10 weeks in a row I have logged on ahead of time and tried to redeem exactly at the right time it opens, but the app and website completely glitches. By the time it loads, "the gift cards have all sold out". I don't think there are any gift cards at all. I have heard this company has no money left yet still advertises for people to sign up and give all their bank and card information. I will never be able to redeem the money I earned and this is a SCAM company that won't let anyone redeem. There are thousands of complaints on Reddit about people experiencing this exact thing. It is unclear if they are letting anyone at all redeem for gift cards. When you contact their customer support, they just give you a copy-paste answer and automatically close your ticket. This time, they didn't even bother with the copy paste answer, they just automatically closed my ticket with no reply!
