Madison Seating is truly the pinnacle of poor customer service. After selling a chair that is not advertised as refurbished, but is, they fight and resist a return every step of the way. Including not responding to any communication via email even though the customer has provided all the necessary information. Their "sales" team is also extremely rude and unprofessional. Including over talking and calling the customer "crazy" for being at a shipping store, trying to return product.Absolute pinnacle of a deceptive company.

It appears no good deed goes unpunished. This customer purchased a brand name office chair from our company several months ago. The chair was reported to have arrived in perfect working condition. The buyer emailed us recently saying the chair broke while under his care and we offered to do an exchange, although he was well over the 30 day return period. The buyer emailed us requesting we provide the return label and we responded back immediately stating this information will be sent by the returns department within 24 hours. He demanded we address his email before any other customer. He called our customer care department several times in one day demanding we service his requests immediately, despite the agents telling him his email would be answered in the order it was received and within 24 hours. Please understand, we are under no obligation to do a free exchange for this buyer. We offered him a courtesy as we try to provide the very best level of customer care. He protested saying his first email was answered in 5 minutes. We told him we can't always answer that quickly as we have many other customers waiting for their inquiries to be answered as well. It can take up to 24 business hours for emails to be answered (but normally within an hour). His expectation of getting an immediate response each time he reached out is ridiculous and not feasible when we are dealing with hundreds of emails daily and shipping out thousands of chairs a week. This review is really a review on the buyer.

Let me just add to the A+ line of reviews for Madison Seating here. Not only do I love the Leap v2 chair I ordered and received (in a timely and accurate fashion), but their *************************** patiently walked me through several steps of an assembly issue (mine), until the problem was resolved beyond my highest expectations. I recommend doing business with Madison for any furniture needs, including my own in the future.

I have purchased over a dozen humanscale, freedom chairs from Madison through our business. The price point is excellent and saves us a substantial money from buying new. We did have an issue with two of the chairs having bent hydraulic pins, but Maddison offered to replace those without any hassle. Overall will continue to do business with them. Good team, good pricing.

I'm embarrassed to be writing this review, but others need to know what I neglected to discover before buying a ****** ****** Aeron chair from madisonseating.com. There is no where on their website, that I can find, where it declares they sell used/refurbished furniture. I didn't even see the "open box and does not include a ****** ****** warranty" language. Your only clue, that you might be getting what you pay for, is the great price. I purchased my chair in May 2025; I didn't think to turn it upside down to inspect the bottom. August 2025, roughly 90 days after their 30-day return policy expired, the pedestal keeper clip fell off, bent and broken, on the floor. Since the company's warranty requires you return the ENTIRE chair, at your expense, for repair, and then pay them to ship it back to you, that made absolutely no sense for a $2 replacement part. Of course, that is all part of their awesome business strategy. When I contacted a local certified ****** ****** dealer, they helped me discover that manufacturing stickers had been removed and the plastic housing beneath the seat was cracked in two places. I also learned that my "new" prized Aeron chair was about 20 years old! Had I known I was about to purchase a used, obsolete chair for $550, I wouldn't have. I feel stupid and duped. Don't do business with Madison Seating Company, but if you decide to, do your due diligence and know exactly what it is you're getting. Shame on them; shame on me.

March 11, 2025 I sincerely appreciate the professionalism and responsiveness of the Madison Seating management team in addressing my concerns regarding a defective product. Their prompt attention to the matter, including the swift dispatch of replacement parts and their generous offer to replace the entire chair at no additional cost, demonstrates their commitment to customer satisfaction.I initially purchased a task chair in February, which has significantly enhanced my comfort and productivity. This elevated chair has provided much-needed relief from persistent leg pain, allowing me to work without discomfort. Based on this positive experience, I ordered a second chair for my home office. When an issue arose with the product, the team responded promptly and exceeded my expectations by offering a full replacement, despite my request for only the affected part.I truly appreciate Madison Seating's dedication to customer service and their proactive approach to resolving concerns. My interactions with their management team have been positive, and I will confidently consider them for future ************** regards,*** *.

Bought a $1,000 ****** ****** chair from Madison Furniture via ****. It worked for a couple months but only after a couple months, the armrest broke. The only solution provided by Madison was to ship the chair back to them (packaged and funded by me), see if they could repair it, then I would need to fund the return shipment (again) for another $115. All-in-all, about a 200-300 ordeal to fix a chair that cost me 1,000 to begin with. And asking customers to ship a chair that can't be disassembled lacks serious judgement by this company.
Buy direct from ****** ****** (or whoever they are reselling), do not take this budget route.
It was sold as 'Open Box' but it is clearly refurbished. It comes with a different, cheap seat cover material, and is clearly a lesser version of an actual ****** ****** Chair (proven by the fact that it broke from simply using the arm rest). Bad products. Bad service. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Ordered the Armless Freedom Chair by Humanscale. A few days after receiving it, the cylinder would not hold the height. I reached out to ***************** they promptly responded & sent a replacement part. However, I could not get the existing cylinder out of the chair, so they have offered to send me a whole new chair.

Buyer Beware! Bought a "new" Steelcase chair that broke immediately and had to fight with customer service for over a month. 1st, they offered to refund 50% and I could keep the broken chair. 2nd, they would send a replacement, but only after I sent them proof of a good review on a website. If you see a good review for this company, its likely because they blackmailed the reviewer and would not replace a faulty product without it. 3rd, they would only issue me a refund if I mailed back the broken chair. I had already gotten rid of the box and had to spend $50 to get a box big enough. Once I finally had the broken chair packaged for shipping, they said don't bother and issued a refund. Eventually contacted Steelcase directly, but they list Madison as a "Gray Market" seller and will not honor any warranties for products they sell. Absolutely terrible experience. Buy from Steelcase directly to get a real product.

Do not buy from this company period. All of the negative reviews on BBB and TrustPilot should be enough to warn you away from them. There are lots of stories about horrible customer experience, deceptive marketing/advertisements, and extremely shady practices.I had one experience with them in 2020 and vowed to let everyone know to not do business with them. They accused me of being a false reviewer on TrustPilot.com and "taking out my frustrations on them" when, after I purchased a chair, there was fraudulent activity on my debit card the week I did business with them from ********, **. News flash: they're HQ'd in ********. Tell me how that's just a coincidence when I live in the southern **. I'm not accusing them of stealing or fraud, but I just didn't trust the security of their payment system after that.Companies like this should not stay in business. They advertise chairs at "discount" rates, but do everything to hide the original condition of the chair. If you get it and are not happy, they make you pay out the rear to return it. Most of them are used and touched up somehow. I do not believe what they say about origins of their company or how long they've actually been around. They've just changed their name in the past, probably because the reputation was so tarnished.
