I originally purchased a 7 day limited access to download one PDF document and it did not warn me I would be purchasing a subscription and would be charged $69.00 CAD after the initial week.I emailed company for a refund due to their misleading information and they refused. I am rejecting this response because:
Screenshot from my ****** account does show a payment of $0.99 for the file conversion on Aug, 12 and then 7 days after that transaction (on Aug, 19) PDF Guru added a subscription of about $50 behind my back. If I did approve a subscription on Aug, 12, $50 would be charged at the same time. Its a typical scammer stuff and everyone has been warned on the web about PDF Guru.Anyway a screenshot shows the same complaints against PDF Guru and refund was successfully obtained through BBB.

On October 24th 2024, I searched for a way to convert a document from one format to another. PDF Guru came up and it was 99 cents to do what I needed, for which I paid using my credit card. All they sent me was a welcome email with log-in information and then billing email for ************************************************************************************************ a subscription or charged any recurring fees. Now it turns out that they kept billing my credit card all the way till May 2025 for ***** each month, even though I never logged in, or never used the service after that one-time occasion on October 24th, which I paid for the same day. In December 2024 they billed me twice: December 5th and December 30th. Some of the charges originated from ****** and some from ***. They never sent any email informing me of any other charges besides that 99 cents bill on Oct. 24th. I had no idea I was enrolled in a subscription, for which I never gave my consent. All other companies I ever had a subscription with send me an email BEFORE they charge my card, to inform of the upcoming charge. But not PDF Guru! They use predatory methods to extract money. In my opinion, they should refund all of my money, besides the initial 99 cents. So far, they only refunded May 2025 charge, which was incurred after them acknowledging my cancellation on My 6th. They offered me 2-years of free service instead. Why would I need 2 more years of service I never used or needed in the first place???Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:The refund of $199.96 received by me totals 4 payments of $***** only. PDF Guru charged me 7 payments of $*****, one on each of the following dates: Nov. 5th, 2024, Dec. 5th, 2024, Dec. 30th 2024, Jan. 29th, 2025, Feb. 28th, 2025, Mar 30th, 2025 and April 29th, 2025. So the total for those 7 payments is $349.93. I received $199.96 only. Three payments of ***** are still missing, which comes to $149.97 still outstanding. I think they should reimburse those as well.

This company has a predatory practice where they advertise a $0.99 fee for a one time use of their service, and then charge you $49.99 saying you signed up for a subscription. When I received the pending charge notification, I contacted them to request a refund, which they refused. Their social media is full of similar complaints from other victims.
