1 starThey are unreliable. My cable did not work properly for months. They sent technicians out and it still never was fixed. On top of this they go up on their account pricing a couple of times within a year very substantially. I finally cancelled my account before the next billing cycle and they still want me to pay because it takes up to 10 days for cancellation to go through. I had NEVER been late with a payment through auto pay and they still want to charge me. They are unreliable and their pricing starts out good but in a matter of months through the year they increase your account. Be aware.Review fromE. J.

1 starAstound is giving life lock promotion to new customers for one gig for $40 and a $200 gift card. That is less than half of what I pay and the pest they could do is $68 for five years. This is a terrible way to treat your loyal customers. This will end up costing me thousands more in my lifetime compared to the new customers.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starI honestly dont even know where to begin. This has become an extremely frustrating experience on every level.This can be broken into two parts: the installation and everything that happened afterward.Installation:The installation experience was completely unprofessional. From the moment the installer walked in, his behavior made us uncomfortable it felt like he was inspecting our home rather than doing his job. Then, out of nowhere, he asked if I would donate some of my work shirts to him. Completely inappropriate. He also asked to use the bathroom, which is not something Ive ever encountered with a utility installer and added to the discomfort.On top of that, he spent nearly 2030 minutes struggling to close the ground lid for the cable box because of a little mud. At one point, he was actually going to leave it loose and casually said, Its OK, water gets in all the time. Absolutely unacceptable. I ended up bringing him a small shovel myself just so he could finish the job properly. What should have taken five minutes dragged out endlessly.After installation:Then comes the customer service nightmare. I called to ask about charges that made no sense and the whole conversation became unnecessarily difficult. First, I noticed our bill didnt reflect the autopay discount. When I asked why, the agent kept insisting it wouldnt apply until the next billing cycle which makes no sense at all, since autopay discounts typically apply immediately. The agent was extremely rude and put me on a very long hold simply because I asked to speak to a ************* if that wasnt enough, I then realized we were charged $5 for Enhanced WiFi even though the promotion we signed up for clearly states its free. Truly unbelievable and incredibly ************** this point, I am seriously considering disconnecting our service altogether because the experience has been nothing short of a mess.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starThis company has no honor and are practically stealing from existing loyale customers. Increasing rates each year sneakily in bills hoping they don't notice. My monthly bill increased by over 40$ at one point. While they are currently offering a 40$ monthly payment deal for life for new customers. I would seriously encourage the government look into this company, that have to be doing something fishy, this doesn't feel right to me and makes me feel sick to my stomach. I doubt this new customer deal is legit and permanent too. Do not give them your money.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starAstound Broadband has engaged in a clear bait-and-switch practice. When attempting to resolve this, the company directed me to a closed facility and claimed to be unable to receive email evidence, effectively creating an impossible barrier to resolution. I have verifiable evidence of the contract and the company has refused all reasonable means to accept it, leaving me with an unfulfilled contract and an erroneous bill.Chronology of **************** Discrepancy Initial Agreement (Online Sign-up): On Sep 5, I signed up for a specific promotional package online. This deal was confirmed via an email (which I have on file) and included:Price: $35.00 per month.Terms: 3-year price lock.Additional Perks: Free equipment, 1 year of free mobile service, and a $100 gift card.First Bill ****** My first bill arrived for approximately $145.00, a nearly 315% increase from the agreed-upon rate, indicating a clear failure to honor the promotional contract.Attempt 1: Chat Support: I contacted chat support, explained the discrepancy, and was told a representative would investigate and follow up within a couple of business days. Astound Broadband never followed up.Attempt 2: Phone Support: One week later, I called the support line. The representative claimed they had no way to verify the deal despite my possession of a valid email confirmation.Unacceptable Obstacle: I was told the company cannot receive emails for verification (an astounding claim for a broadband provider) and that the only way to verify the email proof was to physically visit a local Astound store.Attempt 3: Local Store Visit: I drove to the only local Astound office in my area as instructed. Upon arrival, I found a sign stating that the office was permanently closed to all customer service functions since June.I have no way to fix this, which is unacceptable.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starI have never done a review before- but this is ridiculous. This has been the worst internent company I have ever had to work with. I had hundreds of dollars taken out of my account for equipment that I WAS TOLD BY CUSTOMER SERVICE that i did not have to return. I came back from out of the country and the equipment was charged to my account- they recieved it back a dat alot and I was told I was going to get a refund. I have called atleast 10 times and have recieved a different answer from all 10 people and have recieved NO REFUND despite explaining for them to send it back to my account versus a pre paid card. I requested the money on October 24th and was just told a pre paid card was just sent out on november 7th (despite calling in the meantime between these dates and was being told I was going to recieve it in my bank account "3-5 business days later" EACH TIME). EVEN WHEN THEY TOLD ME THAT I WAS GOING TO BE GETTING IT REFUNDED BACK TO MY ACCOUNT ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH. 1 starI have been with this company for a long time and am done with their predatory practices and pricing. My bill has gone from 78 to 230 and they have the audacity to tell me this is still lower than standard rates when they are offering $40 forever rates with no contract to new customers? *********. Do not do business with this company. They will find a way to get around this by tacking on some exorbitant fees and that 40 will be 230 at some point.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starI was an RCN customer and ********************** was bought out by Astound. When my internet stopped working completely under Astound, I canceled my account and immediately sent the modem back the same day. Despite written confirmation that I had canceled my account and had returned the equipment, Astound continued to charge me and is demanding I continue to pay for service that was not rendered.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starI cancelled all internet services in July, it is now october and I have continued to be charged. I talked with a customer ******************** *** at the beginning of the month who assured me I would receive a full refund within 2 weeks. I have not recieved the refund, in fact I just recieved another billing statement. I have asked for my card to be removed from my account and they will not oblige.
