1 star***** this company. I was a customer of WOW that was bought out ********************. When I was with WOW I had 100mbps internet package. This was the lowest they had at the time. Once bought out by Astound I noticed that the lowest package Astound offers is 300mbps with an Introductory offer that lasts a year of 30 dollars. I have tried calling them and messaging them to find out what the current Non introductory offer price is and they will not give an answer. This last time they tried to tell me their system will automatically give me another special offer after the 1 year introductory is over. I asked in plain English so what will that price be and I was told they can't tell me what prices will be in the future. I then asked well what is the price right now if I did not get the introductory offer and was told they can't give the price. The reason I ask this is because I want to know what the Actual price is for the 300mbps internet because I still have a 100mbps plan that they do not even offer and I am paying ***** a month. I would like to see if the 300mbps price to be able to compare but this company refuses to give me a straight answer. This type of selling should be Illegal. This is Not right that a company refuses to be Honest with consumers as to what the actual price is for their service. I was Forced to give this company a 1 star rating Despite the horrible customer service I have received from this and the fact that for the past 2 weeks I have had to deal with No internet for up to 3 or 4 hours a day or extremely slow internet.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starIve been a long-time RCN customer, paying around $50/month during my promotional period. When I called in the past, I was even told I could extend that rate but as soon as I needed to update my credit card (the old one simply expired), everything changed.Without warning, RCN ended my promotion, added a $45.88 one-time fee for the declined payment due to the expired card, and hiked my bill to $135.99. When I contacted support, the agent (******* who refused to give her last name or connect me with a supervisor) said I had a $50 loyalty credit and that $85.99 was the best available price.Thats misleading, because the real total is $106.88 after Taxes, ***************** about $20.89 extra, most of which arent actual taxes. Customer support was dismissive, unhelpful, and uninterested in resolving the issue. ******* even said theyd happily process my cancellation request, which I plan to do as soon as I schedule a replacement provider.If youre considering RCN / Astound, be warned: promotions vanish without notice, loyalty credits are smoke and mirrors, and the final bill always ends up higher than whats advertised. 1 starRCN is not a consumer -focused company. They have raised my internet only service form $50/month to $140/month with deceptive notifications of price increases. They require direct billing so that they can raise rates surreptitiously. These are very bad business practices and what we call "bad profits". Beyond their billing practices, their service is not reliable, which makes the price gouging all the more absurd. When I cancelled their service, they refused to stop the billing until the end of their billing cycle (3 more weeks of paying for a service I do not use or need). When I asked them why, they said it was "policy". There's no technical reason they can't stop the service the day you cancel your service, and since there's no contract, there's no reason to continue billing for a service that is not used. This is just another egregious example of excess ******** to customers. I would caution anyone against using this service and falling prey to one of their annual promotions that just leads to a continuous escalation of prices. They need to seriously reconsider how they treat customers in a world where customers have choices. This is the least customer-centric company I have experienced in a very long time. 1 starBEWARE: The advertised price is $30/month - my bill has been $62/month - they more than double it with hidden fees. I switched to another provider - this is the most expensive internet available - no reason to use it ******** Fios, ******* Xfinity, Starry, T-mobile and others are all cheaper in the ****** area). They lost a class action lawsuit (easily found online) because of these deceptive practices and made no effort to change their ways - they only updated the language in their agreement to say "unknown fees may be added". 1 starRCN and Astound are cheating customers by overcharging and then adding surprise billing. I switched from RCN internet and TV because of their horrible services and fees. Then RCN started hitting me with one surprise bill after another. I was charged $155 for a month, during which the service was disconnected. Then they charged $210 for not returning equipment, which I already returned to them via ***** weeks ago. Talking to customer service didn't help either. They are rude and after extorting money out of customers. This is total scam of a business h*** bent on cheating customers. Their license should be suspended and they should be sued for damages.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starIf I could leave zero stars or negative stars, I would!!! I disconnected my internet service with Astound sometime in the middle of July 2025. My last bill was Aug 21, 2025. Astound confirmed receipt of my returned equipment on 07/31/25 and yet STILL CHARGED me for the full month! I called twice to dispute the charge for the 21 days that I did not have access to use only to be told that it is Astound's policy that customers still be charged for the whole month even if the equipment was returned during the month. Well, it is MY POLICY that I do not pay for services I requested to be disconnected and no longer have access to. This is purely legalized robbery! Thankfully my bank returned the money and now Astound will continue to bill me monthly and it likely will negatively affect my credit rating.Astound Broadband powered by RCN

1 starThis company is not transparent about their fees. I used Astound because it was the only internet provider available in my unit. I noticed my bills had multiple hidden fees that fluctuated throughout the year. Before I ended the service I called their customer service line and asked them about returning the equipment and they were not transparent about their process. I was hit with a bill that was nearly over $700. When I called and told them that I returned the equipment and it was signed for by someone at their company they told me to wait 10 days for it to reflect on my bill. When I asked them to explain the charge that did not include the equipment, they did not provide context and told me to look at the bill statement which, again, does not provide any details.
