      They’ll over Charge and hope you won’t look at your bill and dispute. They don’t uphold their end of the rental agreement when you waive services such as fuel surcharge. Despite returning the car full they still attempt to gouge the customer with predatory billing. I highly recommend having a printed receipt of the final bill and your fuel receipt.

      Rented 16' truck with a car dolly. Moving cross country from north to south.
      Got to the mountains and winding roads and the exhaust fell halfway off the car. Made a terrible rumbling noise. Had to pull over in a non-service cell area up in the mountains. Had to crawl under the truck and strap the exhaust back together. This continually happened for the rest of my 2200-mile trip.
      Tried calling customer service with a complaint and got tossed around from person to person and was never able to file the complaint.
      SAFETY IS NOT ON THEIR MIND! THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!

      About one month after completing our rental we received a bill for damages to our rental vehicle. When I called to inquire about the "damages" I was told the report stated the tire pressure light was on (it was not) and that the tire needed to be replaced and all tires balanced. This is absolutely false; however, we have zero recourse per Avis' rental agreement. If you choose to rent with this company, make sure to take pictures before and after of the interior, dash, and exterior of the vehicle. We have never rented from AVIS. Every other rental company we have used has an agent do a walk thru prior to leaving the lot and upon return. AVIS did not. I can only assume that they don't do the walk thru because then they can claim whatever they want at the end of the rental.

      I arrived April 5, 2023, to Las Vegas as the start/end of a national park tour with my family of 4. We had a reservation with Budget. Upon arrival, they told us they had no cars and offered no options except to try the other rental counters- it was 11pm at night...
      We then went to AVIS- as they own Budget. They would not honor my rental rate with Budget but would happily rent me an equivalent vehicle at TWICE the price. I was over a barrel and had to eat the cost and even opted in for the the loss damage waiver coverage.
      Upon return home and a few weeks later, I get a letter stating we caused excessive debris and sand damage to the interior of the car. The pictures you've sent me would show otherwise- light crumbs in the foot wells, most likely from kids snacks. Oh, and a straw wrapper! All could easily be cleaned with a standard vacuuming in your cleaning protocol.
      Just like a comment down below- I am being charged $125 for this situation and it is being called roadside emergency service- we had no roadside emergency service! I've sent emails to dispute the charges of you nickel and diming me. Super unhappy with your lack of customer care.

      We have checked our records and show that our Customer Service Team has already stopped the cleaning fee from billing on your rental. Additionally the Budget Las Vegas location is independently owned and operates as a franchisee of Avis Budget Group. This means that they do not use the same fleet of vehicle and that their rate and billing systems are different from the Avis systems.

      I would never rent from Avis/Budget again. My daughter and I rented a car in Naples, Italy. Two months afterwards I notice there was a charge to my VISA from Avis for $59.56
      I did not receive any notice before seeing this charge and called Avis on 3/29. After calling I didn't hear anything back until I received a letter on 4/4 (dated 3/10). I called customer service a second time on 4/4 and was sent an email form to complete. Hearing nothing, I contacted VISA directly to dispute the charge on 4/20 and ironically I received an email on 4/21.
      I was told that I received some type of motor vehicle fine but never saw a bill. While I'm unsure how I received such a fine, as I paid all the tolls with either cash or credit, I find it unusual that it took over 2 months for AVIS to receive notification. Furthermore, I do not understand why I was not given an opportunity to either pay or contest the fine directly--instead of being charged an administration fee of $48.80 EUR. They attached a letter that provided absolutely no information in English on who to contact to contest the fine or when they contacted AVIS.
      I had not rented from Budget/AVIS in many years and am sorely disappointed in the way this matter was treated. Beware..."WE TRY HARDER" is just a slogan without any meaning.

Please note that when the issuing authority contacts Budget we do charge an admin fee for the ticket and processing of details for the issuing authority. However, the actual ticket will come from the issuing authority directly.

      This place has terrible service at 5 pm Pacific time they are already closed and on top of that if you get someone on the phone you don't understand what they are saying at all . I call the location on Scottsdale Rd in Tempe, AZ the guy said he would note on my account that I prefer a Kia Soul and he wouldn't take my information. I asked 3x if he wanted my name. This is very stressful, then he said just because I have a reservation doesn't mean I am automatically enrolled bro earn points. I don't think I trust Avis at all

      Rented from Avis at the Melbourne airport in Florida, the CSR was flaky, gave us the wrong keys. Was headed to parking lot when another CSR flagged us down. Driving to Lou Ky from Melbourne Fla, nearly 15 hr drive. We asked to have car 36 hrs, after getting on the road realized the csr only rented for 11.5 hrs. Wanted to charge $300+ more to extend rental! ??

      I am having bad experience with Avis Car Rental,*** * ********* Rd, San Francisco, CA ***** for my rental drop off on 30-Dec-2022. I dropped off my car to the attendant at airport and attendant confirmed everything was fine. I am receiving a bill of $653.43 after 4 months citing that there was a glass damage in the Front Windshield without the proper image captured as well as the image is not timestamped. I am not sure whether the glass damage was pertinent to the car which I have rented and they don't have even notified me in email(even though they have my contact details) that there was a glass damage to the car which I have dropped to the attendant in airport. I am working with customer care but I have received a weird email saying as "When a customer rents from Avis Rent A Car, they have the option to purchase the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) that will waive their responsibility for vehicle damages incurred during an Emergency Roadside event. This being said, our records do not reflect that you purchased the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) that would have waived this cost. Thus, we have determined that you are responsible for the full cost of the services provided and any damage incurred to the vehicle". If a customer declines Loss Damage Waiver insurance at the rental counter, they can charge the customer after several months for the damage which is not notified to the customer at the initial stages. I feel it is a scam from the Avis after reading this news from URL (https://******************************************************************************************************************** ). I would suggest we need to be more careful before renting the car at Avis.

      Based on my recent experience with Avis, I went into an agreed-upon rate of $1000 per month to $3000 for one month of use for renting a vehicle from Avis (while in possession of the vehicle for approx 6 months for work)
      .
      While I understand that rental rates are based on multiple factors, there seemed to be an inordinate amount of miscommunication, as I was not given any advance notice of late fees or any other fees that would be applied following my last month of being in possession of the car, despite my bank records showing payment each month. Due to miscommunication with my car payment and contract, I proceeded to return to the rental center to renew as I had done each month and was informed that I was late in my monthly agreed rate to which I was unexpectedly hit with an additional $3.2k of fees after paying approx $1800 at the return counter. Prior to this I was given no notification of via phone, email or mail. It was to the point where I had a loss prevention agent calling my emergency contacts and causing my family distress as they were led to believe my vehicle and I were missing.
      When reaching out to Avis to request clarification they would not provide a breakdown and declined to return fees and was adamantly told all charges are final. I followed up with emails to no avail and was hung up on by a customer service representative, who was extremely rude, and even provided banking statements proving I had made monthly payments .
      Avis has unjustly taken $3.2k of my funds and refuses to clarify, refund or discuss a resolution. And then overcharged my bank additional $1.8k without adequate reasoning other that I was late and at fault. This process has been both most confusing and frustrating for myself and my family.
      As a loyal customer, I cannot justify paying such an exorbitant rate for one month of use without a clear and reasonable explanation. And cannot understand why attempts to remediate the situation have been blatantly ignored or escalated.

      We have checked our records and show that you rental was scheduled to be from February 18th, 2023 until March 21st, 2023. However, it was not returned until April 23rd, 2023. Additionally, we do show that once your rental was past due multiple attempts were made to contact you about the late return of the vehicle including but not limited to a certified letter being sent to the address on file and a 3rd party repossession company being hired to locate and recover the vehicle. Due to this your final receipt of $3,162.79 was for 65 days of rental and included a repossession fee of $460.00 and a late fee of $495.00. We do show that as a gesture of Customer Service we did discount the late fee by $162.24 on May 3rd, 2023.

      Terrible experience with customer service. I had a coupon for a 2 day full size free rental from turning in my credit card points. Called Avis, and they said just present it at the desk. When I got to Indianapolis they could not get the coupon to work despite trying for 30 minutes, so they attached it to my agreement and said the supervisor would look at it and fix it the next day. Of course he never did and we were charged the full price. But they gave us a free upgrade to account for all of the inconvenience. I called customer support after returning the car and they asked me to attach the coupon - which I did not have, but I had taken a picture of. Then they said the reason it did not work was because I had the upgraded car, not the full size. I have tried calling the number the counter person gave me to get help but they don't answer the phone. So, I am stuck. Can't contact the counter, can't contact the person who helped me, can't contact her supervisor, and corporate says the upgrade was not complimentary. I am beyond upset. DON'T USE AVIS. If I could rate it NO stars, I would.
