      I will NEVER rent from AVIS CAR RENTAL again. They will not correct the error that they made. I paid for a FULL-SIZE truck for a week with my military discount and have me a tiny truck MID SIZE and said they could UPGRADE me to the truck I rented. Now claims they did not have a full size but refuse to refund the difference in price.

      Very disappointed with Avis. Offsite location closed early even though we had supplied airline and flight info so were only about 15 minutes late. Customer service was no help other than to ask if we wanted to cancel our 9 day reservation or spend the night and pick up in the am. Finally got pickup location changed to a different airport which required Uber costs and they up charged us $100 plus our only choice was a huge truck vs the small car we reserved. To get a car was considered an upgrade and they required a second credit card. The gas costs were way more in the truck due to lower mpg and after getting final bill realized they also charged us mileage which we’ve never had anything but unlimited mileage before in the 20+ years I’ve been a preferred member. Using the app to look at other rentals the mileage charge isn’t even consistently applied.
      On top of that we immediately had a low tire pressure so had to pay for air at a gas station.
      With the increased costs and out of pocket expenses our rental went from an estimated $189 to almost $700 and Avis has yet to reply to the contact form I filled out.

      Did a prepay on Line in Jan 24, 2023, for a trip that took place in April 2023. To expedite the rental quicker we had all the paperwork done and completed . Upon pick up of car we were asked to give a c.card to put on file. Not knowing any different we gave them our card. That being said it wasnt the same c.card that we used to book the car. Trip is over, get back home. Avis billed us for the rental of the car that we did a prepay in January for. So now we've paid 2x for the car. It is now June 1st 2023, and i've been trying to get our refund from Avis since April 19, 2023. $520.00. Horrible communication thru their online customer service. Some of the emails to us dont even make sense. Also when we picked the car up the tank was 3/4 full. We returned it 3/4 full. They chared me $21.57, said it was low. I call bullshit. Nothing like riping your customer off. Never in a million years will i use Avis ever again. Shame on you Avis for no apology and not pushing thru this mistake on your end. If there was a negative star, Avis would get that from me. For now 1 star isnt even worth this service

      Thanks for your automated response, as there is no validity to your comments, as they are generic, this situation with avis has been resolved and I finally got my refund which was a hassle but I'm glad to move on from this horrible experience

      Avis/Budget tried to scam us from the pick-up counter till a month after returning our rental. From trying to oversell us on our rental choice because of sea level elevation to trying to charge us for a new windshield six weeks after the rental was over with the work-order for the windshield dated weeks after we returned the vehicle. Totally smarmy scam artists trying to screw you at every turn. Zero stars or negative stars would be more accurate. Thieves.

      Reserved a large SUV in the Bozeman Airport Avis and received a small Chevy Equinox instead, with no consideration for a discount or upgrade. Passengers had to ride with luggage in our lap. Ruined our vacation. The car was dirty and made awful noises, as well. Horrible experience. Will never rent from Avis again.

      What a horrible company! I paid for the insurance and roadside assistance when I rented a car from them in San Francisco. That process in itself was awful but the car got broken into and we called roadside assistance. They said they couldn’t do anything until we filed a police report. Had to go to the hotel, file a police report online because the police don’t do anything about it in San Francisco near pier 41, it happens so often. I could not get through to any of the numbers I could not talk to anyone randomly at two in the morning a roadside assistance guy shows up, but he did not have a replacement car that I paid for he took the car. The next day I call Avis again can’t talk to anybody. because I paid for the car for four days and this was the first night we still were entitled to a car. It was such an ordeal and took an entire day to get a replacement car after we had to Uber to other locations and wait in the offices for hours. Fast forward to this week, which this happened in March now it’s end of May and Avis charges my card $271 for the roadside assistance and the window being broke even though I paid the insurance to cover those things. They sent me a letter just saying hey guess what we’re charging your card by the time I get the letter it was already out of my bank account. I will warn everyone I know to not use Avis.

      The car we got from the airport first was extremely smokey. The car the worker took us to next was a class below what I paid for and had a lot of safety issues (along with very annoying things). High beams did not work and made for very unsafe driving conditions, CarPlay did not work, radio blasted loudly randomly even when "off", windshield wipers did not work well/left streaks everywhere and was unsafe during rain, no armrest and all manual seat adjustments (I paid for a car that features electronic features and a comfortable driving environment). There were other minor issues with the car as well.
      The first Avis rep I spoke to regarding these issues seemed to understand, however I could barely understand him through his accent and apparently being outside with a tree that birds were in. I could not figure out why he was outside on a customer service call with me (from the 1800 number) rather than in an office. But he knew enough about the rental I trusted he was not a scammer. He told me I would be getting a refund of $200 USD by Friday, May 26th. I did not receive that refund.
      So I called today, Tuesday, May 30th. The man (Caesar) I spoke to today was helpful, however got some serious attitude with me and he ended the call prematurely by interrupting me and stating his ending phrase, "thank you for calling Avis" and hanging up on me while I was still asking him questions. I was extremely frustrated by him. However, he did say that the first representative was wrong and that I would not be getting $200 USD back, he said I was going to get $235 CAD returned to me in 3-5 business days. Which is much lower than $200 USD.
      I am not satisfied by this "resolution". I am not satisfied with either representatives customer service. And I am extremely unsatisfied by the vehicle I received. Due to all of these issues I will not be using AVIS ever again, and I will be shouting from the rooftops to not use AVIS in any capacity.

      Y’all literally did it again!!! A freaking again!! Another $303 charge that is pending that y’all have proved that’s not mine that has my account again in the negatives!!! It’s the holiday weekend and I am BROKE AND CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THIS IS PENDING!!! I should have $155 in my account right now with over $100 being able to be sent by Uber and to put gas in my car to Uber today! BUT I CANT!!! Because I can’t even put gas in my car because the account is pending a $303 charge that has me in the negatives!!
      IT TOOK 5 DAYS FOR THIS TO FIX LAST TIME!! WHY AM I DEALING WITH THIS??!!! WHYYYY!!!!!
      I literally pay y’all $1200 a month out of Uber money to Uber with you alls car and all of this just started last week!! Y’all haven’t done this since I got the car March 31st!! Why now!!!!!???!!! I’m so sick of this mess!!!!!
      You all are terrible people and I am pissed!!
      Y’all are going to literally make me lose my child with all this stress at 10 weeks pregnant!! I’m so sick of this crap idk what to do but cry!!!

      We have checked our records and show that you are renting as part of the Uber rental program. Per the Uber terms and conditions the rental is renewed every 7 days, part of the renewal requires that a new authorization hold hold be captured each week to start the new rental. As a new rental was started on May 26th, 2023 which goes until June 2nd, 2023 a new hold of $303 was captured. Once this rental closed on June 2nd, 2023 a new rental will be opened and a new hold will than be captured at that time for that new rental. Please note that at the end of each week the existing hold is used to pay for the previous weeks rental.

      Terrible company. Would not accept my visa platinum card that I've used to rent cars from them for 15 plus years. Employee at independence Missouri location is awful at best and their customer service people are rude hateful and uselesss
