      I made a reservation online on March 13th for a rental Van for a family trip. I prepaid $745.84 for the van. I called Budget on June 9th to make sure they would have the Van and to make sure everything was fine with the rental. I was told that I could not rent the Van without a credit card and to call customer service to cancel and to get a refund. I called customer service and was told by 3 to 4 people that the reservation couldn’t be cancelled due to an error with their system. I called back the very next day and the same thing happened asked to be transferred to a supervisor and they told me nothing could be done. I called over and over again for the rest of the week and nothing. I called in on June 12 and someone sent it to the escalation department and I received several emails stating it will be canceled and I would get a full refund. I called back today June 19 because I received another email saying the Ban was still reserved so I called budget back and Julio was very rude and told me I would not get a refund and all they could do was cancel the reservation and that I would have to contact them in writing to appeal the decision. How is is that you guys want to keep someone’s hard earned money. I have tried canceling the reservation in a good amount of time and now y’all are saying I can’t get a refund. This is ridiculous.

      I am an avid traveler and have dealt with many rental car companies. My experience with AVIS was by far the worst experience I have ever had. I got in late (1:00am) to Hartford Airport after flying all day. Made my way to the AVIS counter where I had reserved and prepaid for a "LUXURY" car. The car was not clean and smelled of marijuana and incense. Once I left the airport and got on the highway, I noticed the car pulled dangerously to the left. It was to the point that I was fighting to keep it in the lane. The next morning I called Customer Service to tell them about my experience. After 30 mins of being on hold, the service agent was clearly not in the US and not in an office. I could barely understand her accent and there were dogs barking in the background. After another 25 mins with this service agent it was clear they couldn't help me. They advised me to call a local Avis counter. I called the nearest counter and told them my situation. I called Customer Service back. Again same situation. On hold for 30 mins, got an agent with canned answers, poor English and very little or no authority to actually help me. I hung up and called the Emergency Roadside Assistance line. He said he would set up a new car at the local counter for me. I told him that I had already called that counter and they didn't have any vehicles. He assured me that he had spoken with them and a vehicle would be there. I drive the car to this counter location and they do not have any cars. Frustrated, I call Emergency Roadside Assistance back. They proceeded to send me to another counter in a different location and assured me again they would have a car for me. I got another text message confirming my reservation. I drive to that location. NO CARS. Completely frustrated having dealt with this situation for 8-9 hours. I parked the car at my hotel and used Uber the rest of my stay. Needless to say, they of course charged me full price for my rental.

      Partly directed at this Avis location (Hornby Street in Vancouver) and partly directed to the main company.
      One star because I can not give zero. Beware, this location has NO preferred member amenities. There is ZERO signage directing you anyplace. You can NOT go straight to your car! You need to stand in line. Whatever you do, don't listen to the Avis main number directions, they have NO idea what goes on at this location.
      It was a Saturday and there were at least 40 people in line in front of me. I called the main Avis number and they advised me to just go to the car... not an option since they have no signs or QR code to scan or anything... then they told me to just go to the counter and tell them I'm a preferred member. I did that and I was told they don't offer any preferred member benefits, "everyone is preferred," and I needed to go back in line. I spoke to the manager and he told me the same thing. So I got back in line and called the Avis main number again and they told me they were unable to do anything for me... thanks Avis. Back in line and lost about 10 places... What a waste of my time. I will NEVER rent from Avis again. Ever. I'd rather walk.

      Arrived for family vac May 3rd, 2023 trip, car rental and stay was booked and prepaid through travel agency. Guy at counter told us we could only get a mini can instead of the Tahoe that was booked because we only had a debit card. He kept giving us excuses. When I asked if there was a price difference he said no. The car was dirty and the price difference we were over charges $184.52. I have been fighting with Avis to get our money back for over a month and still nothing!! Will never use them EVER again. Dishonest people work for this company.

      We were charged over $500 after renting a car for two scuffs. Not scratches. Not dents. Scuffs. I tried dealing with their customer service and started a dispute. I was first told to call back in 7 days. Then I was told that I would be notified by email in 7-10 days. Nothing. Then I was told that it could take up to 30 days. When I called after 30 days, I was told that it can take longer. In the meantime, we have not received any communication from Avis. I think they were either hoping I would get fed up and just pay the $547, or string me along until I could no longer make a credit card dispute.

      Horrible. I rented a vehicle via the website a year in advance to make sure I had it for a trip I was planning. Two days before my trip, I get a phone call saying that they can not get me the vehicle and that I would have to get two cars instead. I explained that I was the only driver and the I had to have the vehicle that I rented. I was told that when I reserve a car that I am not guaranteed a vehicle. If I reserve a hotel room, etc; They hold that room for me. They don't tell me well too bad. Because of this and the lack of help this location provided to me, I had to cancel the reservation and pay double the price to get the same vehicle at the airport via AVIS/Budget. They scam people out of money.

      HORRIBLE experience with Avis. I called to book a rental and the guy Isaac entered all my information incorrectly. I was told I was going to be charged $345 for my rental tax fees and everything. After I called again to update my info and they told me my new total was an OUTRAGEOUS $700 dollars. After I explained what happened to the supervisor she offered no sympathy and no solutions after THEY made a mistake. DO NOT USE AVIS they offer nothing but head aches. It took me long enough to even reach a live rep so I can actually be helped instead if the HORRIBLE automated system. I went to Budget and got the same exact car with all my information entered correctly for $450 total Tax Fees and everything for 5 days. AVIS is a TERRIBLE COMPANY. TERRIBLE SERVICE. TERRIBLE PRICES.

      I will NEVER rent from them again. After being a preferred member for years, I have never been so dissatisfied. When you have a price that you agree to pay, they charge without knowing an additional $200 hold for absolutely nothing. When you call customer service is rude and will not help. All they say is it is am AVIS policy and no one can help. How os it legal to hold money on a person’s card for zero services rendered? No other rental car company has done this. When families are going on a. Trip they have a budget. This is uncalled for

      Rented a car in Midland Texas and returned in Corpus Christi Texas the very next day.. has been 7 days and they are still holding the temporary hold..
      When I called to speak to someone.. I was sent to their main cuatomer service...I was put on hold then the phone was set down.. noone ever picked the phone back up.. I could hear noise .. but noone spoke to me..
