      We had an awful experience with Avis. When we booked our rental car for 11 days, we knew it was going to be a good chunk of change. However, all the fees they charge at checkout were a bit shocking. Not only was that an extra $300 but apparently I unknowingly signed for extra coverage that I stated I did not need. Our flight got in at 1 AM and I feel like I was misled by the by the employee upon picking up the vehicle. I was charged an extra $150. I tried to fight the fee but got nowhere. Such a rip off! If you are flying out of LAX, beware. Not only is the traffic bad at baseline, but Avis is the closest to the airport, making it even worse to drop your car off. We waited in about an hour of traffic for a half mile span to take a right into the car drop off area. There were multiple other people in the same boat. The worst part is you have to get on a shuttle and go back into the traffic to get to the airport. We were all about to pull our hair out as we were cutting it close to our flight departures. Never again.

      We LOVED our experience with the Arnold, Missouri Avis location. Tyler ****** helped us and he was very polite and when we ran into some issues, he talked us through it and helped us figure things out. We usually use a different location, but we will be using the Arnold location for now on! He made our experience very easy and he was amazing!

      NEVER AVIS AGAIN! Rented at OGG. I was happy with the vehicle and its condition. Even though desk service was snail-paced, they were pleasant and welcoming. However, like so many, I was told one price, but after returning the vehicle I received an invoice for just shy of TWICE what I was expecting, and not to cover any damages or late drop off. They did credit me the bogus fuel charges (watch out for that!), but that barely made a dent. I ended a lovely vacation with immediate stress and a headache. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. I have never had such billing issues with any other company.

      Avis does not wish to deceive anyone we do our best to make sure that all pertinent information is made available to our customer within the terms and conditions of the rental contract. By way of explanation, at the check-out/start of each rental the rental sales agents is required to offer for a nominal fee the option to accept LDW, SLI or our Roadside safety net (RSN) coverage. We are disappointed that you feel you were manipulated into signing for these items. Although we do not doubt your veracity, our decisions are based on the facts at hand. The rental agreement was signed and the additional services were provided by Avis. In the event of an accident, damage to the rental car, third party property, etc., your financial responsibility would have been greatly reduced if not voided completely. Because of this we are unable to remove the full cost of these options. As a gesture of good will, we will gladly split the cost of the optional coverage/services. This is a total adjustment of $286.65, including applicable taxes.

      I rented an Avis car through Costco for a drive from Austin, TX to Charlottesville, VA. I picked up the car from Avis in Austin, TX on Friday, December 9. On my drive Friday evening, the car broke down in Meridian, Mississippi (I think it was the transmission). I immediately called Avis Emergency Roadside Assistance. Over the next 20 hours I waited and called Avis over and over and got different answers every time - a tow truck would come and take me to Jackson - a tow truck would come and take me to Birmingham - someone would drive a replacement car to me. At one point, a tow company called me from Jackson and said they were coming to get me, then the driver called 5 minutes later and told me Avis had cancelled the request.
      In summary, the car broke down before 6 PM Friday, Dec 9, and Avis did not provide a replacement until 2 PM, Saturday, Dec. 10, despite the fact that Avis had available cars about 80 miles away from me. The most frustrating part is that Avis employees lied the entire time about when someone would help me. When I finally received the replacement car (which reeked of cigarette smoke to the point that I had a sore throat by the time I got home), I was still over 10 hours away from my home and the drop-off location in Charlottesville, VA, and had to stop for another night at another unplanned hotel.
      To top it all off, Avis charged me a late fee for bringing the car back on Dec 11 instead of the 10th, even though it was physically impossible to get from Meridian, MS to the drop off location in Charlottesville, VA before the location closed due to the fact that Avis didn't replace my car until 2 PM CST on Dec 10.
      After multiple calls and emails, I finally got the late fee back, but Avis refused to refund the rental price. I had to go through Costo (the travel agent) to get part of the fee back.

      Horrible experience by Budget Car Rental. I rented a vehicle on June 4 for 1 day and needed to extend due to an emergency. On June 5 I contacted the counter and no one answered so I called customer service to extend my rental because I was unable to do so online. The agent Jeff I spoke with was running into issues but was eventually able to extended my rental and asked me to also confirm with the counter the next day. I contacted the counter the next day and again no one answered the phone. The next day June 8 I contacted the counter and the phone would ring once and hang up. I then got an email message saying contact loss prevention or the counter. I contacted both departments and was unable to yet again speak with anyone. I was given LP to call which I did a total of 47 times and have the call records to prove it. The phone rings in LP for 10 mins 19 secs and hangs up. The night of June 12 my rental vehicle was repossessed from my residence where it had been sitting for 2 days. The vehicle had numerous items in it from cash, work security dongle, football equipment and most importantly medical equipment that my child uses. I contacted customer service and let them know I needed items taken out of the vehicle and they referred me to lost & found to make a claim. I've spoken to managers, locations, customer service reps and no one can give me answers. Mind you each call has been an hour or longer(which I have records of). I still have yet to hear back from or reach anyone in Loss Prevention and today is June 26. I've requested to speak with consumer affairs and have my case escalated and NO ONE has gotten back to me. This company and their communication lines are horrible and needs to be shut down. I specifically told them I had a life or death situation on my hands and not a soul cared to assist me.       I have received a generic message in my inbox on June 27 today is July 6 and no one still has not reached out to me nor can provide any information. I have items that have been noted as being left inside of the vehicle and no one has cared an ounce to contact me regarding my concern. Now if 30 days past you guys donate items that have not been claimed. I need someone to contact me asap as this is turning into more than a civil suit this is beyond ridiculous and the communication lines are unacceptable.

      SHAME ON AVIS… not only for not standing by their word, but for a member of their management team to not even have the professionalism or decency to return a customers call. This is me doing my best to help prevent others from going through the same unfortunate customer service experience, they’ve chosen for us, after the nightmare they put my family and many others through by notifying us an hour before we were to pick up a van we had reserved & prepaid for, weeks before! A perfect example of how little they care about their customers. All they want to do is give you coupons to use their company again… instead of doing what’s right, and standing by their supervisors word, making their customer WANT to do future business with them… and remain a customer, by choice! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

      On May 28, 2023, I picked up the rental car from Budget/AVIS Car Rental at the DTW Airport location, expecting a smooth and enjoyable road trip. However, my excitement quickly turned into frustration when the car broke down unexpectedly during the journey.
      I immediately contacted Budget Car Rental's customer service for assistance, hoping for a quick resolution. However, what followed was a frustrating and unhelpful experience. The representatives I spoke with seemed disinterested and provided no solutions for the defective vehicle they had rented to me.
      To make matters worse, the car had to be impounded due to the breakdown, leaving me stranded without any means to have it towed elsewhere. Despite my repeated requests, Budget Car Rental refused to provide a replacement vehicle or make arrangements for the retrieval of the impounded car. This left me feeling helpless and disappointed during what was supposed to be an enjoyable road trip.
      To summarize, my main grievances are as follows:
      1. Vehicle Breakdown: The car rented from Budget Car Rental broke down during the road trip, causing significant disruption and inconvenience.
      2. Unhelpful Customer Service: The representatives I interacted with provided no solutions or assistance, leaving me feeling unheard and abandoned.
      3. Lack of Resolution: Despite my requests, Budget Car Rental did not offer a replacement vehicle or make arrangements for the impounded car's retrieval.
      I advise potential customers to reconsider renting from Budget Car Rental for their road trips and explore alternative options that prioritize customer satisfaction and reliable service.
      In conclusion, my experience with Budget/AVIS Car Rental was highly disappointing. I sincerely hope that they take this feedback seriously and take necessary steps to improve their service and prevent others from having a similarly frustrating experience.

      They say that they sell ***** **** kittens. They apparently do not. They are likely not even legit, although their website is pretty good and they will send you video of the kittens. They are non-responsive, easily confused (based on the number of times I had to repeat myself), and they appear to get their "customers" confused as they introduce information that was never brought up by me.Very disappointing to lead people on and I hope that if actual animals are involved that they are safe.

      We reserved a Mercedes Van sixth months ago for our Spain trip and even though they had 10 in the lot, they said none were available. The contract said.” Or something similar. They gave us a Volkswagen SUV that was beat up and not luxurious at all! More like a utility van. We paid the Mercedes rate and got a crap van!
